급속한 도시화와 인구 과밀화에 인한 교통 문제를 해결하기 위해 건설된 지하철과 부대시설은 일반시민들의 생활형태를 변화시키고 있으며 그에 따른 실내환경 문제로 야기 시키고 있다. 그리고 지하 공간의 증가와 함께 일반 시민들의 지하 공간에서의 생활시간이 길어지고 있으며 지하 공간 내의 공기질 악화도 가속화되고 있다. 미세먼지와 더불어 지하공간의 공기를 악화시키는 원인중 하나인 휘발성 유기화합물질(Volatile Organic Com pounds)은 인체에의 유해성 측면에서 중요시 되고 있다.(중략)

The problem of freedom is inseparably related to human life. It makes this not to be regarded as a problem restricted to the professional domain of ethics. It suggests rather that the problem of freedom is intimately connected with the philosophical groundwork for discussing the future direction of society, culture and science, and its regulative idea, a philosophical discussion which comes up inevitably with various social, economic and political problems, and problems related to the spirit of law. In this view, when we want to explain the problem of freedom as a fundamental one in reference to future direction of humanities and to find out a solution to this, our research only in accordance with the approach of history of philosophy runs into difficulties. The reason is that the problem of freedom has nowness together with historicity. Finding this problem to be a present one in our concrete human life, we can discuss it more meaningful under the methodological frame changed and developed by philosophical reflections since the modern age. And here I think a culturalistic approach reinterpreting hermeneutic insight and pragmatistic context methodologically can provide a pertinent clue for a theoretical work to investigate the problem of freedom and to find a solution to that because this approach considers historicity and nowness. For this purpose analysing truth intersubjectively and understanding freedom critically, this article tries to reconstruct symbolic interpretation and the concept of self constructed in community of language and action as a cultural horizon of freedom.

The general tendency of approach to Korean Design History has been focusing its primary interest on the grand story in relation to the problems of modernization in political, economical and social aspects of Korea. In the discourse of modernization, however, there are two sides immanent in the modernization: there is the formal, institutional and authoritative modernization developed inside the capitalistic mode of production and the informal, individual and cultural modernization manifested in the mode of everyday lives. Especially, despite the viewpoint of the latter being embossed as an alternative approach in various areas including the academic world of history since the collapse of socialism, the historical recognition of the phenomena of modern design by the Korean design historians is more like the 'history from the above' that exists at the level of the discourse outside the reality rather than the 'history from the below' that exists within the ordinary life. To grant a sense of balance in such frame of historical understanding, it requires the restructuring the design history of Korea through the cultural perspectives from having the representation of mundane lives realized by the voluntary design activity of the common people as research subjects. One of the methods to acquire an answer to such problem is decoding, in the manner of 'cultural history', the life-long domestic artifact made by Madame Yang, Gap Jo (currently 87 years of age) who is a model of typical Korean mother. Through the historical rumination on the traces of unpretentious lives of the people that has been buried under the grand narrative of the Korean Design History, a new era aimed for the historical prospect of Korean design as cultural history will be possible by excavating the petit yet multi-layered meaning of Korean designs.

원자력이 잠수함의 추진 동력으로 사용된 역사는 오래되었지만 해상 원전 플랫폼 같은 민간 해양 사업 부문에 활용되기 시작한 것은 최근의 일이다. 중국과 러시아는 해상 원전 플랫폼 개발 계획에 전념해 왔는데 이제 그 첫번째 플랫폼 개발 사업의 완료를 눈앞에 두고 있다. 미 원자력에너지협회(NEI)가 해상 원전 플랫폼 개발 계획의 내용과 해상 원전이 환경이나 지역 안보 문제에 어떠한 의미를 가져오게 되는지 살펴보았다.

원단과 같은 섬유류 위에 원하는 글씨나 도안을 찍어내는 날염. 공기와 물을 제외하고는 무엇이든 인쇄가 가능한 시대가 되었지만 섬유는 종이와 더불어 가장 오랜 역사를 지니고 있는 인쇄 소재이기도 하다. 모든 산업이 그러하듯이 섬유산업에서도 최근 변화의 바람이 거세게 불고 있다. 환경에 대한 중요성이 부각되고, 소량 다품종 생산으로 시장구조가 바뀌면서 기존의 재래식 날염 방식으로는 대응하기가 어려워 진 것. 이러한 문제들을 극복하기 위한 대안으로 디지털 날염이 각광받고 있다.

전 세계적으로 초고층 빌딩 건축 붐이 일고 있다. 여러 나라들은 세계에서 가장 높은 빌딩을 지어 도시의 경쟁력과 국가의 위상을 높이려는 노력을 계속하고 있다. 국내에도 초고층 빌딩 건립을 위한 프로젝트가 상당수 진행되고 있다. 하지만 이들 프로젝트들은 법적 문제를해결하고 이해 관계를 조율해야 하는 등 난관에 봉착했다. 해외 초고층 건축물의 역사와 함께 국내 초고층 빌딩 건축의 현주소를 살펴보았다.

우리나라의 보일러 산업은 짧은 역사에도 불구하고 가스 수요의 증가와 함께 장족의 발전을 하여왔다.그러나 업계의 과잉경쟁에 의한 양적인 성장 이면에는 기술개발의 한계로 인한 제품자체의 결합이나 설치, 시공상의 하자, 가스 배관 내 이물질 등의 문제로 인한 가스보일러 사고가 종종 발생하고 있다. 우리 온돌 시공 인들이 일선 현상에서 가스보일러를 직접 설치, 시공하는데 조금이나마 도움이 되어 가스보일러 사고를 예방함으로써 가스안전 문화를 정착시키는데 기여했으면 한다.
