  • With changes in information technology (IT), many innovative IT-based services, such as AirBnB, have become popular. Switching behavior toward new and innovative services become a major issue for managers who want to attract many customers. In response, many researchers have investigated why customers switch service providers. However, little research has been conducted on the processes of switching behavior for a hedonic service. To fill this research gap, this study aimed to identify the stages of switching behavior based on transtheoretical model. Furthermore, the factors affecting the service switching behavior in stages were identified on the basis of service provider switching model. This study also hypothesized the customer's switching behavior in accommodation sharing economy service and analyzed it empirically. Results showed that the factors affecting switching behavior differ across five stages. The present results can provide a basis to prevent switching behavior and reduce churn by analyzing the difference in switching behavior among stages. This study also helps managers who want to improve organizational performance by enhancing customer retention capability.

According to the survey report on the elderly, 11.9% of all elderly people participate in learning activities. Senior welfare centers accounted for the largest number of institutions conducting learning activities for elderly education learning activities participants at 35.5%. First, in the direction of elderly education in the age of science and technology, education on the use of digital technology and information is necessary in the composition of elderly education contents. Second, in the case of elderly education methods, customized elderly education methods are needed. Third, in the case of operating elderly education institutions, specialized education centers for elderly education must be further strengthened and supported. The international community is already forming a consensus that the establishment of new social systems and financial investment due to the increase in the elderly population should be considered a new growth engine rather than a social crisis. Although there is a burden on the social security sector due to the increase in the elderly population, there is a shift in the direction of recognizing the potential capabilities and experiences of the elderly and returning them to social resources. Elderly education in the age of science and technology needs to change to a direction that can build a healthy and progressive society in the future.

  • This study aims to identify the main factors that caused the digital divide during the COVID-19 pandemic. Utilizing data from the 2020 and 2021 Digital Divide Surveys by the National Information Agency, a research model was constructed for analysis using SmartPLS 4, applying PLS-SEM and Multigroup Analysis methods. The results of the study are as follows. First, combining 2020 and 2021, mobile internet usage during COVID-19 is positively associated with digital skills, digital usage, and usage outcomes except for networking. Second, the impact of digital usage was significantly higher during the outbreak than during the beginning of COVID-19, which may be due to the increased demand for digital usage as the outbreak continued, and the corresponding increase in internet usage. Third, we discovered that demographics are not the main factor affecting changes in mobile internet use during the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, digital literacy affects mobile usage, which is the most important one. The results show the importance of creating programs to teach people how to use technology appropriately. We propose that digital literacy should be central to training programs for people who use digital services.

  • This study aims to determine the perspectives of pre-service elementary school teachers on the science curriculum in the fourth industrial revolution era. In this study, 128 pre-service elementary school teachers were asked to express their perspectives on the Saber-toothed Tiger Curriculum through photovoice activities. The resulting images were classified into three types: conservative, progressive, and radical perspectives. The number of both conservative and progressive perspectives was similar and high, whereas the number of radical perspectives was l ow. Those who had conservative perspectives on the Saber-toothed Tiger curriculum regarded "Inquiry" as the basis of the science curriculum, which should be maintained regardless of the time period and environment. Similarly, older teachers believed that this curriculum was based on eternal truth, which should be protected. Those who showed progressive perspectives on the Saber-toothed Tiger curriculum regarded a progressive person as someone succeeding to the blood of "New fist," and they showed positive attitudes toward AI-based education such as coding and meta-verse, regarding these practices as part of the teaching and learning method that could replace the existing inquiry-based education. Those who showed radical perspectives on the Saber-toothed Tiger Curriculum assumed critical attitudes toward the rapidly changing political circumstances of science education and criticized conflicts between different social classes formed through progressive curriculum. Based on these results, this study found that pre-service elementary school teachers needed to consider the science curriculum from several different perspectives rather than just one.
