Ocular and Facial Dimension of Primary School (초등학교 학생 눈의 외부측정)

  • The mersurements of the inter outer canthal distance (IOCD), inter inner canthal distance(IICD), inter temporal distance (ITD), length palpebral fissure (LPF) and inter pupilly distance(PD) were followed in 852 healthy Korean from 7 to 13 years old. The change of average dimension was 6 mm in PD and 20 mm in ITD during primary school, and then grow up to the dimension of adult. The dimension of ITD and LPF in female was larger than male from 8 to 10 years old. The dimension of LPF increased by change of IOCD more than IICD.

  • The Cosmic Ray Experiment (CRE) is one of the modules flown on board the KITSAT-1 satellite and consistes of two sub-systems: the Total Dose Experiment (TDE) and the Cosmic Particl Experiment(CPE). The purpose of CRE is to characterize the space radiation environment as encountered by an Earth-orbiting spacecraft. KITSAT-1 orbit is dominated by the inner Van Allen radiation belt. This region has a large population of high energy protons which contributes significantly to both long-term and transient radiation effects. The data shows that the inner Van Allen radiation belt is very stable and the solar activity influences the CPE, TDE data and SEU(Single Event Upset) rates. The result also shows that much larger high energy particle flux is recorded than the predictions of the CREME code.

  • 최근 기후변화의 영향일 것으로 추정되는 이상가뭄의 발생빈도가 잦아지는 상황에서 이에 대한 대비책으로서 댐의 비상용량을 비상용수로 공급하는 방안이 조심스럽게 제기되고는 있으나 현재까지 국내에서는 비상용수에 대한 명확한 정의조차 제시되지 않는 등 다소 생소한 개념이라고 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 비상용수 공급의 국내 외 사례와 비상용수 공급편익 산정에 관한 국내 외 연구를 검토하여 댐에 의한 비상용수 공급의 가능성과 가치를 평가하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 비상용수의 수요는 정기적으로 발생하지 않는 특수한 경우이고 용수공급을 대체할 만한 대안이 거의 없는 극한 상황에서 발생한다. 그러므로 생 공용수의 편익산정 방법에 일반적으로 이용되는 대체시설비용법과 같은 편익산정 기법을 적용하는 것은 여의치 않을 것으로 판단된다. 그리하여 본 연구는 비상용량이 사용될 때의 갈수빈도와 갈수피해액의 관계를 설정하고 피해경감액을 추정함으로써 연평균 편익을 산출하는 방안을 검토하는 방안을 제안하고자 한다. 비상용수 공급편익의 합리적인 계량화하기 위해서는 적절한 이수안전도의 설정과 이에 따른 이수기능의 평가가 선행되어야 한다. 그러나 아직까지 갈수규모에 따른 비상용수 공급편익의 산정방법에 대한 명확한 기준이 마련되지 않은 실정이다. 따라서 향후 비상시 댐의 이수기능을 최대한 활용하고 이에 대한 올바른 가치평가를 위해서도 관련분야에 대한 기초연구가 시급히 이루어져야 할 것이다.

Landscape Planting Design for Yeoyido Flood Plain Park in Han-river (한강 여의도지구 수변공원 식재설계)

  • It had been strictly prohibited to plant in waterway according to Korea laws and regulations. It was then made possible to plant by the modification law and regulation of 10/30/1997. In 2000, the Seoul metropolis government planted in the Yeoyido flood plain park in Han river by way of showing the model case. This planting design is for the Yeoyido flood plain park along the Han river, in Seoul. The design requirements were to create a pleasant rest area, to improve the surrounding landscape, and to create diverse ecological habitats by planting within the stability of flood flow. This design emphasizes the following design requirements that has positive effect on stabilizing flood flow. First, planting suitable in a area was determined by the speed of a current of less than 0.7m/sec under various numerical value simulations. Second, plants were selected in existing trees of the present and the past Han river, as well as the questionnaire results from landscape professional engineers and professors. Shade plants were planted in the large visiting areas so as to offer pleasant shade in the summer, the ecological planting pattern was applied in the area with low speed of flood flow, so as to aid the restoration of the natural ecological environment. It was found that the foresaid planting design verified the stability of flood flow and wind by overturn limit moment calculation. It is expected that this plan would serve environmentally friendly planting plans in flood plain park.

  • There is a variation in the range of normal occlusion, and we must fit our treatment to the needs of each patient. If the upper or lower incisors are congenital)y missing, malformed, or crowded, the extraction of the incisor has some advantages over the extraction of premolars and nonextractions. The advantages are 1)simple mechanics, 2)reduced treatment time, 3)less relapse tendency, and 4)fewer facial profile changes. In order to decide which incisor should be extracted, we must consider certain factors 1)discrepancies in anterior arch length, 2)anterior tooth ratio, 3)periodontal and tooth health condition, and 4)the relationship between the upper and lower midline. Diagnostic set-up can be helpful to plan the treatment and show us the post treatment result.

  • Foreign bodies in the esophagus are common in the field of otolaryngology. They are usually due to ingestion of a coin or two, especially in the cases of children. Almost always, a coin in the esophagus can be easily removed under esophagoscope. However, untoward complications have not infrequently ensued. The authors have recently experienced an interesting case of foreign body in the mediastinum. It was found to be a 50-Hwan coin that had remained between the tracheal bifurcation and the esophagus for 13 years without causing any serious complication. At age of 17 years, he visited ENT department of our hospital, where the coin was removed safely by trans- thoracic approach under general anesthesia. So we report this case along with literature review.

  • The orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technique and the single carrier with cyclic prefix (SC-CP) scheme are very attractive solutions for wireless applications, being computationally efficient since equalization is performed in the frequency domain. The equalizer could not entirely handle significant mean. Doppler shift. This motivates the use of a phase error tracking loop that operates jointly with the frequency equalizer. This paper describes the effect of the mean phase error and the performance of the proportional equalizer coupled with a phase error tracking loop based on decision-directed method. Furthermore, simulation results show that we can reduce the computational toad of the tracking loop with minimal performance degradation.

Economic Valuation of Yeido Park: Application of Double-Bounded Dichotomous Choice Contingent Valuation Method (여의도공원의 경제적 가치평가: 二段階 二選 假想價値推定法을 적용하여)

  • The purposes of this study are to estimate the economic value and reasonable entrance fee of the Yeido Park, which is under construction in Seoul, by conduct the face-to-face interview. A total of 645 daults were selected by two stage cluster sampling. The senario was designed to meet the requirements for doubgle-bounded dichotomous choice CVM, and distributed with the photograph to epict and compare the current and suggested conditions. A donation vehicle and entrance fee were utilized to find the possibility of strategic behaviors and protest zero, and to make the data estimatable tfor interval censored survival analysis. Date was calibrated by the survival analysis to eleminate the 'fat-tail problem'. Weibull distribution was assumed as a baseline distrubution. The mean WTP of donation and entrance fee was ₩5,281 and ₩783, respectively. The economic value of this park was determined by aggregating the mean value, giving a total WTP for the population of ₩36,861,645,000. This economic value was composed with the use value and existence value. The calibrationi of the Weibull proportional hazard model showed that nearness to the park, age, intention to isit the park, and educational attainment were significant independent variable to influence an amount of donation.

KSTAR 2009 실험을 통하여 얻어진 플라즈마 대항부품 내 부의 수소 흡착량과 향후 고주파 가열에 미치는 효과 분석

  • 핵융합로에서 플라즈마 대항부품(Plasma facing components) 내부에 흡착되는 수소에 대한 조절은 삼중수소의 흡착으로 인한 운전시간 제한뿐만 아니라 원활한 토카막 방전유지를 위하여 매우 중요한 문제이다. 특히 고주파 가열에서는 수소를 소수종으로 사용하는 경우 수소 농도에 대한 수 % 이내의 정밀한 조절이 필요하므로 플라즈마 대항부품 내부의 수소 함유량에 대한 조절이 매우 중요하다. 2009 KSTAR 실험에서는 인보드와 아웃보드에 흑연재질의 플라즈마 대항부품을 사용하였다. 이들은 설치후 진공배기 이전까지 장시간 공기에 노출되었으므로 상당량의 수소와 물이 흡착되었으리라고 예상되었다. 본 발표에서는 잔류가스분석기 및 분광법을 이용하여 토카막 방전중의 수소와 중수소의 비율을 측정하였고 이들을 토카막 방전유지시간, 방전세정과정 등을 매개변수로 분석하였다. 한달여의 토카막 실험을 통하여 플라즈마 대항부품에 대한 활발한 세정활동이 이루어졌음에도 불구하고 중수소에 대한 수소의 농도는 50 % 근방의 값을 유지하였다. 2010년도 실험에서는 신규 설치되는 디버터도 흑연을 사용할 계획이므로 플라즈마 대항부품의 수소흡착량은 더욱 증가할 것이다. 따라서 2010년도에 KSTAR 플라즈마에서 효과적인 고주파 가열을 달성하기 위하여는 강력한 세정 활동을 포함한 수소의 농도 제거활동이 선행되어야한다.
