The study examines the current situations of bank industry whose profitability has been worse recently, finds out the causes of the reduced bank profits, and presents ways to solve the problem. The ways to strengthen the profitability are as follows:First, the expansion of business area is needed. It is necessary to expand business that will create new profits through M&A between the bank and other industries. Second, reorganization for the high-value business is needed. The bank should no longer depend on the profits by deposits and loans, but develop high-value business area for high profitability. The bank business strategy needs to focus on the long-term profitability, not the short-term one. Third, the structure of bank needs to be slimmed. Slimming the structure should be based on the efficiency of business for the future, not for a short-sighted profitability. Fourth, the interest rates of deposits and loans need to be differentiated. The bank profitability can be enhanced by promoting deposits and loans which reflect low risk and high profitability. Fifth and lastly, advancing to abroad needs to be revitalized. Securing the oversea's bank markets can play a key role in strengthening the profitability of banks in the future.

This essay deals with The Homeric Hymn to Demeter, a aetiological myth about the Eleusis Mysteria. The narrative of the hymn shows how Demeter, the goddess of grain, became the deity of the Mysteria. In the hymn, Demeter is characterized as a mother: She is the mother of Persephone and the motherlike nurse of Demophone. As the mother of Persephone and Demophone, the roles of are nursing and mediating. She care her children and linked the earth and the world below, the heaven of gods and the earth of mortals. Demeter the deity of the Mysteria by a mother. The and the maternity of Demeter is connected with patriarchal politics. Demeter in the hymn is not so much the goddess who derived her character from The Great Mother as the goddess who had been characterized the influence of Greek-patriarchy.

This study analyzes the characteristics of customer's preferences on banking channels (branches, automated machines, telebanking, internet banking, and mobile banking) and examines the factors influencing channel usage. To accomplish this, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis are performed using customer data from Bank A. The analysis reveals that customers primarily utilizing branch counter transactions have a significant impact on the profitability of 1st and 2nd grade banks, particularly among the age group of 50 years and above. Additionally, it is observed that as customers' loan, deposit, and financial product holdings increase, branch counter transactions also increase. On the other hand, it is found that as the usage of mobile banking decreases in terms of loans and deposits, transaction volume increases.

The primary purpose of this study is to examine the impact of new BIS regulation, which is the preparations to incorporate not only credit risk but also market and operation risk, on the bank behaviors. As methodology, SUR(seemingly unrelated regression) and pool unit test are used in the empirical analysis of banks survived in Korea. It is employed that quarterly data of BIS capital ratio, ratio of standard and below loans to total loans, ratio of liquid assets to liquid liabilities, allowances for credit losses, real GDP, yields of corporate bonds(3years, AA) covering the period of 2000Q1~2009Q1. As a result, it could be indicated that effectiveness and promoting improvements of BIS capital regulation policy as follows; First, it is explicitly seen that weight of lending had decreased and specific gravity of international investment had increased until before BIS regulation is built up a step for revised agreement in late 2001. Second, after more strengthening of BIS standard in late 2002, banks had a tendency to decrease the adjustment of assets weighted risk through issuing of national loan that is comparatively low profitability. Also, it is implicitly sought that BIS regulation is a bit of a factor to bring about credit crunch and then has become a bit of a factor of economic stagnation. Third, as the BIS regulation became hard, it let have a effort to raise the soundness of a credit loan because of selecting good debtor based on its credit ratings. Fourth, it should be arranged that the market disciplines, the effective superintendence system and the sound environment to be able to raise enormous bank capital easily, against the credit stringency and reinforce the soundness of banks etc. in Korea capital market.

이지스 시스템은 미국이 고성능 대함 미사일을 함정에서 요격하기 위하여 개발한 함정용 대공 방어 시스템이다. 이지스(Aegis)는 그리스 신화에 나오는 방패(모든 사악한 것으로부터 몸을 지킨다는 방패)로, 중앙에 괴물 고르곤(Gorgon)의 머리 모양이 그려져 있다. 고르곤은 머리털이 뱀이며 그 눈을 본 사람은 무서운 나머지 돌로 변했다고 전해지는 스테노(Stheno), 에우리알레(Euryale), 메두사(medusa) 등 3자매중 하나를 말한다. 이 방패는 처음에 제우스(Zeus)가 소유하였으나, 뒤에 자신의 딸인 지혜.예술.전쟁의 여신 아테나(Athena)에게 주었다. 이지스 시스템은 요격용 대공 미사일인 Standard Missile SM-MR(RIM-66시리즈)과 위상 배열 레이다 SPY-1을 중심으로 하여, 그 외의 함내 센서(탐지 장치), 전술 정보처리장치 등 많은 무기 체계의 기능을 통합시킨 집합체이며, 이 위상 배열 안테나는 이지스 시스템의 상징으로 되어 있다. 현재 미국 해군의 Ticonderogal(CG-47)급 순양함, Arleigh Burke(DDG-51)급 구축함, 그리고 일본 해상 자위대 Kongo(DD-173)급 구축함에 탑재되어 작전의 효율성을 높이고 있다.

This essay examines how the figure of Liberty has been refashioned in the streets of post-apartheid South Africa, addressing three public art works installed in Johannesburg over the past decade: Reshada Crouse's oil painting Passive Resistance, Marlene Dumas' tapestry The Benefit of the Doubt and William Kentridge's and Gerhard Marx's sculpture Firewalker. Even as these monumental works all reprise Delacroix's Liberty on the Barricades-an icon of the city street and its revolutionary barricades-so too this trio of Liberties have become mere phantoms of their vaunted archetype. Haunted specters, they quarrel with the mythologized chimera of Liberty, taking issue with the fraught tradition of pinning regime change onto the body of the female nude. Drawing instead on South African histories of women's resistance, in which female nudity has been repeatedly marshaled as a form of dissent, the Liberties circling Johannesburg hybridize their European template with local traditions of female political opposition to colonial and postcolonial male authority.

본 논문에서는 CELP 부호화기의 계산량을 줄이면서도 고음질의 음성을 합성할 수 있는 코드북 구조를 제안한다. 제안한 코드북 구조는 불규칙 코드북과 희박 중첩형 코드북 두 개의 코드북의 합으로 여기 신호를 표현한다. codebook I에서 잔류신호와 오차가 적은 여기신호열을 구한 후, 이 여기신호열에 codebook II의 여기신호열을 합하여 최적의 여기신호열을 구한다. 또한 이로 인한 전송비트수의 증가를 막기위해 홀수 프레임에서는 두 개 코드북의 index를, 짝수 프레임에서는 codebook I의 여기신호열은 그대로 사용하고 codebook II에서만 검색하여 전송하는 방법을 사용하였다. 이러한 2중 코드북 구조는 두 개의 여신호열의 합으로 표현되고 각각의 서로 다른 코드북 이득을 사용하기 때문에 정확한 이득을 표현할 수 있어 기존의 개선 알고리듬보다 더 나은 음질을 제공할 수 있다. 검색시간이 빠르고, 본 코드북 구조를 갖는 4.8kbps CELP형 부호화기를 설계하여 컴퓨터 모의 실험한 결과, 같은 전송률을 갖는 DoD CELP 부호화기보다 segSNR가 0.53dB 더 높게 나타났다.

우리나라 금융시장에서는 부동산담보 위주의 대출관행이 지속되고 있다. 이러한 대출관행은 부동산 수요의 유발로 부동산 가격상승의 원인이 될 뿐만 아니라 금융기관이 담보 부족을 이유로 중소 벤처기업자금 지원에 소극적이거나 기피하는 등 신용경색의 요인으로도 작용할 수 있다. 아울러 담보 부동산가격이 하락할 경우 금융기관의 부실이 될 수 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 금융기관의 낙후된 여신심사 및 사후관리기법을 선진화하고 효율적인 대출제도를 도입함으로써 중소 벤처기업의 신용수준에 부합하는 신용대출을 활성화하여야 한다. 본 연구는 중소 벤처기업의 신용대출을 활성화할 수 있는 방안들을 살펴보았다. 먼저 1980년대의 미국 및 일본의 금융위기와 이의 대응방안을 비교함으로써 담보대출의 문제점 및 개선을 위한 시사점을 살펴보았다. 다음으로 관계중시대출(relationship lending)을 통한 신용대출 활성화를 지적하였는데 관계중시대출은 금융기관이 고객과 밀접한 관계를 장기간 유지함으로써 고객에 대한 정보를 축적하여 금융서비스를 제공한다. 관계중시대출의 중소 벤처기업대출에 대한 시사점은 은행과 차입 중소 벤처기업은 긴밀한 관계유지가 장기적으로 모두에게 도움을 주는 합리적인 신뢰관계를 구축하여 신용대출을 가능하게 한다. 마지막으로 중소 벤처기업 신용대출의 활성화방안을 금융당국, 금융기관 그리고 중소 벤처기업으로 나누어서 각각 제시하였다.

1967년 지역사회 발전과 지역간 경제력격차의 해소를 위해 설립된 대구은행은 설립 후 30년간 내실경영 및 경영혁신을 기반으로 1997년 총수신고 10조의 고지를 달성하였고 지방은행 선두자리를 확고히 한 바 있으며 일반은행권을 포함하여도 8위권을 유지하면서 지방금융기관으로서 자립기반을 구축한 바 있다. 그러나 1997 년 말 밀어닥친 IMF 외환위기의 충격으로 대구은행은 생존자체가 불투명해졌으나 지역사회의 뜨거운 성원과 은행 임직원의 지역밀착형 마케팅 활동을 통하여 위기를 슬기롭게 극복하여 부실여신의 조기감축을 통한 클린뱅크의 구현과 세계기준(Global Standard)에 부합하는 선진경영의 틀을 갖추어 나감으로써 독자생존을 위한 기반을 마련해 나가고 있다. 본 사례는 대구은행의 IMF 사태 시 위기상황을 소개하고, 위기상황에서의 생존을 건 구조조정 프로그램과 위기관리 과정을 소개한 후, 초일류 지역은행으로의 재탄생을 위한 기반이 되었던 지역밀착경영 (K-프로젝트) 및 이와 관련된 프로그램과 그에 따른 성과를 소개한다.
