Experimental Study for Capability of Air Slot in Siphon Spillway to Control Outflow Discharge (사이펀 여수로 공기혼입장치(air slot)의 방류량 조절 능력에 대한 실험 연구)

  • In this study, capability of an air slot in a siphon spillway for controlling outflow discharge is investigated through hydraulic experiments. Arc and rectangular shapes of air slot are considered and the open area of air slot can be varied. Complex air-regulated flow occurs inside of the siphon spillway when the air slot is installed on it. The same discharge is measured at the same water level inside the reservoir when the water level rises or falls. Nondimensional discharge through the siphon spillway decreases as nondimensional open area of the air slot increases when head differences and water levels of reservoir are constant. The hydraulic experiments show that the control of outflow discharge of siphon spillway is possible by controlling the open area of the air slot.

Static Behavior Analysis of Spillway Pier for Dam Safety Evaluation (댐 안전성 평가를 위한 여수로 피어부의 정적 거동 분석)

  • Seismic performance evaluation for dam safety evaluation has been continually conducted. However the behavior analysis for the spillway pier which is known as the weak point of dam is seldom reported. Therefore, this study performed the static loading tests for a prototype structures as elementary tests for the final seismic performance evaluation of dam safety. The prototype of pier structure has 1/20 scale and it adopts to strength model. And cracking loads and ultimate loads of real structures are calculated through numerical analysis using commercial FEM program (ABAQUS). The results of this study show some difference between the results of prototype tests and the results of numerical analysis. Also, the ultimate and cracking loads can be estimated through the prototype loading test and numerical analysis.

  • 다목적댐 하류하천은 댐 건설당시 정비가 필요한 지역으로 댐 방류의 영향을 받는 일정구간에 대해서는 댐설계방류량에 대응하도록 하천정비가 시행되어야 하나, 지금까지의 댐 하류하천은 댐과 별개로 하천정비가 시행되어 왔으며, 관리 또한 댐과 이원화되어 이루어져 왔다. 이로 인해 댐하류하천은 제방월류, 하천구역내 사유지 및 불법시설물 등의 댐운영 제약사항으로 댐 본래의 치수기능이 저하되어 한국수자원공사에서 관리중인 15개 다목적댐 여수로 방류가 설계방류량의 16%(15개 다목적댐 전체 여수로 설계방류량 $57,004m^3/s$ ${\rightarrow}$ 무피해방류량 $9,300m^3/s$)에 불과하고, 대규모 홍수 발생시 댐하류지역에서 막대한 피해와 민원을 발생시키고 있다. 이러한 댐운영 제약사항해소를 위해 한국수자원공사에서는 '07년부터 연차별로 소양강댐을 포함한 22개댐 하류하천의 정비를 시행하고 있다. 현재 시행중인 용담댐 하류하천정비를 시행사례를 통해 댐운영 제약사항해소와 이에 따른 댐의 치수기능 회복효과를 분석해보면 다음과 같다. 댐방류시 현장조사를 통해 확인된 댐운영 제약사항은 하천구역내 사유지를 포함해하여 총 8건이며, 구조적 대책인 제방 축조와 비구조적 대책인 사유지 보상 등을 통해 댐 무피해방류량을 현재 $700m^3/s$ (여수로 설계방류량 대비 22%)에서 $2,730m^3/s$(여수로 설계방류량 대비 85%)로 증가 방류 할 수있는 것으로 분석되었다. 그러나, 구조적 비구조적 대책으로 불가능한 하천구역내 불법 경작지 및 시설물 등이 일부 잔존하여 댐운영 제약사항으로 여전히 남아 있는 실정이다. 이러한 문제를 해소하기 위해서는 불법행위에 대한 관리감독 강화 등의 조치가 필요하나, 이원화된 현행 관리체계에서는 한계가 있으며, 이와 같은 문제를 해소하기 위해서는 댐 방류의 영향을 받는 하류하천 일정구간에 대해서는 댐관리자의 역할 강화가 필요하다.

  • Recently, many ships such as VLCCs, dangerous cargo ships, high speed ferry boats are visiting Yeosu, Gwangyang harbor. The traffic volume of the year 2003 has increased as many as 2.5 times of 1988. However there is no suitable ships' routeing system which takes account of today's traffic situations in this area This study aims at the settling of hazardous factors to mitigate the danger to vessels in Yeosu${\cdot}$Gwangyang bay and to secure the safety of maritime environment.

Hydrological Stability Analysis of the Existing Soyanggang Multi-Purpose Dam (소양강 다목적댐의 수문학적 안정성 검토)

  • This study aims at suggesting an alternative to improve current capacity of flood control for the existing Soyanggang multi-purpose dam which was constructed 20 years ago as a largest dam in Korea. The newly estimated value of the probable maximum precipitation(PMP) is 760.0 mm which is based on the hydrometeorological method. The peak inflow of 1000 years return period at the time of construction was 13,500$m^3$/s. However, the newly estimated peak inflow of the PMF is 18,100$m^3$/s which is 1.34 times bigger than the original one. In order to adopt the newly estimated PMF as a design flood, following four alternatives were compared; (1) allocation of more flood control space by lowering the normal high water level, (2) construction of a new spillway in addition to the existing one, (3) raising the existing dam crest, (4) construction of a new dam which has relevant flood control storage at the upstream of the Soyanggang multipurpose dam. The preliminary evaluation of these alternatives resulted in that the second alternative is most economical and feasible. So as to stably cope with the newly estimated PMF by meeting all the current functions of the multi-purpose dam, a detailed study of an additional spillway tunnel has to be followed.

  • Generally, not only in order to design three dimensional hydraulic structures such a spillway and to investigate the hydraulic phenomena concerning hydraulic facilities, but also to grasp shape and stability, we simulate actuality phenomenon through hydraulic model experiments. However, it requires too much times, expense and space to perform hydraulic model experiments, as well as it is very difficult to measure reduced scale of actual hydraulic structures. Besides, surface tension can exert fair effect in experiment result, and occasionally an experiment of various case is impossible actually. Therefore, there is necessity to draw proper early result through numerical analysis, and if decide the case of a hydraulic model experiment through the numerical analysis and compare the result, finally economical and reasonable design hydraulic structures are available. This study performs numerical analysis of overflow spillway and an experimental study of hydraulic model tests to design the optimal spillway and suggest a better design to improve hydraulic conditions. From the measurements, revised designs for an hydraulic structure are suggested and consequent improvement effects by the new design are also investigated.

  • This research has analyzed the influence of Yeosu Expo's service quality on emotion, perceived value and satisfaction. First of all, the Yeosu Expo's service quality scale was composed with five types of levels : exhibition contents, quality of performance, human service, approach convenience and necessary expense. As the result of influence analysis, exhibition contents, quality of performance and necessary expense had significant influence on attendee's positive emotion. Exhibition contents, necessary expense and approach convenience to approach showed significant influence in perceived value, and necessary expense related to the expo had the highest influence among the three values. Also, the attendee's positive emotion and perceived value towards service from expo was analyzed to have satisfactorily significant influence.

A Study on the Status of Eating Out and Flour Preference of Some Houses in the Yosu, Chonnam Area (전남 여수시 일부 가정의 외식상태 및 분식 기호도에 관한 조사 연구)

  • This study was carried out to examine the status of eating out and flour preference of some houses in Yosu, Chonnam area. The survey was conducted using a questionnaire in Yosu. The results are as follows. The majority of monthly income of household was 1∼2 million won with 50.1%. The highest family composition was couple and children with 75.6% and the highest number of family member was 3∼4 with 57%. The highest type of housing was an apartment with 67.1% while its ownership was, the highest in self-own with 69.9%. The highest frequency to dine out with a family was once a month and the lower age and higher education background was, the higher frequency to dine out was resulted. The menu was mainly the Korean food. The highest rate of flour-based meals was 2 or 3 times a week. The most popular kind was Ramen.
