An Experimental Study on the Temperature Control For a Gas Engine Cogeneration System (가스엔진 열병합시스템의 온도제어에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This study was carried out find out the appropriate tuning method of PID controller for a package type gas engine cogeneration system in terms of stabilizing the engine coolant temperature and system heat balance. In order to acquire the proper parameters of the controller, a system transfer function was set as a first order plus dead time model and thereafter model parameters were determined by using several tuning methods. And, with determined values of parameters and the system transfer functions, optimal turning method was selected by simulating the process using MATLAB. From the experimental results, it was found that obtained PID gains made the system stable in various operating conditions.

  • A liquid-monopropellant hydrazine thruster has several outstanding advantages such as relatively-simple structure, long/stable propellant storability, clean exhaust products, and so on. Therefore hydrazine thruster has such a wide application as orbit and attitude control system (ACS) for space vehicles. A hydrazine thruster with the medium-level thrust to be used in the ACS of space launch vehicles (SLV) has been developed, and its ground firing test result is presented in terms of thrust, impulse bit, temperature, and chamber pressure. It is verified through the performance test that the response and repeatability of thrust are very excellent, and the thrust efficiencies compared to its ideal requirement are larger than 93%.

  • As a development test of the 75-tonf LOx/Kerosene liquid rocket engine for KSLV-II first Stage Engine, hot firing test of 75-tonf engine are performed. The current status of development test on first stage 75-tonf engine system including combustion chamber, turbopump, gas generator, propellant supply system are presented. During the 75tonf engine test campaign, the development of startup sequence of LOx-Kerosene engine system, engine startup using pyrostarter, ignition of gas generator, steady operation and engine shutdown is successfully performed. As a passenger test during engine hot firing tests, Thrust Vector Control system (TVC) of the engine are also evaluated during engine hot firing test. The results of hot firing test of 75-tonf thrust engine system will be used for the design confirmation and performance evaluation of 75 tonf engine system for KSLV-II first Stage.

  • Surge phenomenon can be occurred in a compressor when the performance of turbofan engine for an aircraft is changed considerably such as take-off phase. This study is aimed to avoid surge phenomenon. This paper propose the PID and Fuzzy control System for the turbofan engine with control inputs, the VIGV(Variable Inlet Guide Vane) in closed loop, and the fuel mass flow in open loop. We design the Dynamic modeling, NPSS S-function, which is connection block of simulink between NPSS(Engine analysis program) and Simulink. Finally, we certify the performance to prevent a serge phenomenon in the VIGV control system using the both methods, PID and fuzzy.

  • In case of a gas turbine engine for supersonic operation, the engine have a wide range of operating inlet mass flow rate and required high performance such as thrust and fuel consumption. Therefore, variable system and its optimal control logic are essentially needed. In this work, a method for performance prediction of a gas turbine engine with variable system compressor and its control scheme were developed. Conceptual design of compact acuation system for the operation of the variable system was also conducted. The performance of a low-bypass ratio mixed flow turbofan engine was analyzed, and it was observed that the surge margin of the engine is improved at off-design condition by applying the control scheme.

  • Natural gas is the world's most plentiful combustible fuel, abundantly acailable in all continent. A fuel injector designed specifically for low energy density gaseous fuels has been developed. The injector incorporates design features that are necessary to optimize the performance for fuels such as CNG, LNG. Gaseous fuel injectors have a decisive influence upon starting performance, driveability, fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. A gaseous fuel injector has been developed to cope with the considerably larger volume flow rates and the developed gaseous fuel injector could be used at heavy duty natural gas engine. The static flow of injectors at various inlet pressure was directly proportional and the controllability showed great performance.

A Dynamic Simulation and Real-Time Linear Simulation for Mid-Class Civil Aircraft Turbofan Engine (중형항공기용 터보팬 엔진의 동적모사 및 실시간 선형모사)

  • 중형항공기용 터보팬 엔진의 정상상태 및 천이상태 성능을 해석하고 제어기 설계를 위한 선형모델을 구하였다. 정상상태 성능해석은 설계점으로 선정한 지상정지조건과 최대상승조건(Mach=0.78, 고도=36000ft) 및 순항조건(Mach=0.78, 고도=39000ft)을 고려하였으며, 저압압축기의 공회전 상태에서 최대 회전속도까지의 부분부하성능해석을 수행하였다. 부분부하 성능해석 결과 90% RPM 조건에서 가장 연료소모율이 적어 경제적임을 알 수 있다. 동적 성능모사는 각각의 대기조건에서 연료가 Step 증가, Ramp 증가 및 감소, Step 증가 후 Ramp 감소하는 경우에 대해 수행하였다. 모사결과 고려된 모든 조건에서 연료의 Step 증가시 고압압축기의 터빈입구온도가 제한온도를 초과하여, 보다 빠른 가속과 최적의 성능을 위해서는 적절한 제어가 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 최대상승조건에서 연료를 Step 증가시킬 경우 고압압축기에서 실속이 발생하여 이에 대한 대책도 필요함을 알 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, we studied the control of the hybrid underwater glider (HUG), which has the advantage of high precision route search function and long-term mission capability. Dynamic modeling of HUG is based on numerical model of the attitude controller and buoyancy engine, thruster. We designed the control part considering the smooth control and precise sailing of HUG. A buoyancy engine capable of inhaling water is designed to control the buoyancy of HUG. And mass shifter carrying the battery was designed for controlling pitching motion of HUG. A control system for controlling the buoyancy engine and the attitude controller was constructed. In order to verify performance, we performed water tank test using manufactured HUG.

  • 본 논문에서는 독립형 마이크로그리드에 적용되는 디젤발전기의 동작을 해석하고 디젤발전기의 실제 시스템에 대하여 고려한 모델링 및 제어에 대하여 서술한다. D-Q축의 임피던스가 서로 다른 돌극형 디젤발전기로, 제어는 조속기와 여자기로 나뉘며 엑추에이터, 디젤엔진, 그리고 여자기의 응답속도를 고려하여 모델링하였다. 조속기는 주파수를 60Hz로 유지하고 유효전력을 지령치만큼 발전한다. 여자기는 전압을 $380V_{LL}$로 유지하고 무효전력을 0으로 만드는 제어를 수행한다. 본 논문에서는 독립형 마이크로그리드에 적용되는 50kVA 디젤발전기의 조속기와 여자기를 모델링 및 제어하고 MATLAB/Simulink를 통해 디젤발전기의 동작을 해석하여 독립형 마이크로그리드에서의 운전 타당성을 증명하였다.
