Edge Detection Using the Information of Edge Structural Regions (에지의 구조적 영역정보를 이용한 에지검출)

  • Edge detection is the first step and very important step in image analysis. In this paper, proposed edge detection operators based on informations of edge types and it is different from other classical edge detection operators such as gradient and surface fitting operators. The first, we defined characteristics of edge types such as localization, thinness, length. The second, we defined valid edge types and ideal edge pixel positions in $3\times3$window based on edge characteristics of edge types. And we proposed edge detection algorithm and twelve windows based on valid edge types. In specially, proposed algorithm was shown better performence of edge detection than other operators such as gradient operator and the LoG(Laplacian of Gaussian) operator of zero crossings.

Skew Correction of Document Images using Edge (에지를 이용한 문서영상의 기울기 보정)

  • This paper proposes an algorithm detecting the skew of the degraded as well as the clear document images using edge and correcting it. The proposed algorithm detects edges in a character region selected by image complexity and generates projection histograms by projecting them to various directions. And then it detects the document skew by estimating the edge concentrations in the histograms and corrects the skewed document image. For the fast skew detection, the proposed algorithm uses downsampling and 3 step coarse-to-fine searching. In the skew detection of the clear and the degraded images, the maximum and the average detection errors in the proposed algorithm are about 50% of one in a conventional similar algorithm and the processing time is reduced to about 25%. In the non-uniform luminance images acquired by a mobile device, the conventional algorithm can't detect skews since it can't get valid binary images, while the proposed algorithm detect them with the average detection error of 0.1o or under.

  • 본 논문에서는 Markov random field (MRF) 프레임워크와 영상의 기울기(gradient) 정보를 이용한 필드영상의 공간적 디인터레이싱(deinterlacing) 알고리즘을 제안한다. 기존의 디인터레이싱 결과를 보면 때때로 에지 부분의 연결이 정밀하지 못하여 눈에 거슬리는 재깅(jagging) 현상 등의 결함이 나타나기도 하는데, 제안하는 알고리즘은 이러한 현상을 줄이고자 영상의 기울기 도메인(gradient domain)에서 디인터레이싱을 수행한다. 즉, 제안하는 방식은 필드 영상으로부터 기울기 영상을 얻고 이를 보간한 후 필드영상과 복원된 기울기 영상을 토대로 원본 영상을 복원한다. 이 과정에서 각각의 픽셀마다 기울기 영상의 보간을 위한 에지 방향의 추정이 필요한데, 이 과정에서는 MRF 모델을 기반으로 에너지 함수를 설계하고 최적화시킴으로써 보다 강건한 추정결과를 얻도록 하였다. 프레임 영상 복원은 기울기 영상과 필드 영상 정보를 사전 정보로 하여 선형 방정식을 세우고 푸는 과정으로 이루어진다. 실험한 결과, 제안된 방법의 결과가 기존 방법에 비하여 눈에 띄는 결함을 줄이고 좋은 성능을 보임을 확인할 수 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 고해상도 팬크로매틱 영상과 저해상도 다중분광 영상을 융합하기 위하여 고해상도 팬크로매틱 영상에서 MRF 모델링을 기반으로 에지 방향 정보를 추출하는 방식파 추출된 에지 방향 정보 및 고해상도 팬크로매틱 영상의 기울기 정보를 이용하여 위성영상을 융합하는 방법을 제안한다. 에지 방향 추출은 레이블링(labeling) 문제로 다루어 처리하는데, 이는 MRF 모델링을 통하여 에너지 함수를 설계하고 최소화시킴으로써 풀 수 있다. 또한 고해상도 다중분광영상 합성 시, 저해상도 다중분광영상의 픽셀 값을 정계조건으로 하고 팬크로매틱의 기울기 및 에지 정보를 이용하여 선형방정식을 세워서 풀어내는데, 이를 용하여 색상왜곡을 줄일 수 있으며 영상의 세부 부분을 더 잘 표현할 수 있다 실험 결과, 제안하는 방법이 기존방식에 비하여 좋은 성능을 보임을 확인할 수 있다.

  • This paper proposes a new algorithm for improving the performance of the spatial filter which is the most important part of deinterlacing methods. The conventional edge-based algorithms are not satisfactory in deciding the exact edge direction which controls the performance of the interpolation. The proposed algorithm much increases the performance of the intrafield interpolation by finding exact edge directions based on the binary image. Edge directions are decided using 15 by 3 local window to find not only more accurate but also many low-angle edge directions. The proposed interpolation method upgrades the visual quality of the image by alleviating the misleading edge directions. Simulation results for various images show that the proposed method provides better performance than the existing methods do.

  • Edge detection is the first step and very important step in image nalyisi. In this paper, proposed edge detection algorithm based on informations of edge structures and it is different from other classical edge detection operators such asgradient and surface fitting algorithm. The firs, we defined characteristics of edge structures such as continuity, thinness, localization, length. The second, we defined valid edge structures and ideal edge pixel positions in $3\times3$ window based on edge characteristics of edge structures. And we proposed twelve windows for enhance dissimilarity regions based on valid edge structures and ideal edge pixel positions. In specially, proposed algorithm was shown better performance of edge detection than other operators such as gradient operator and the LoG(Laplacian of gradient) operator of zero crossings in noisy test image with $\sigma=30$.

  • In this paper, we propose an image retrieval method using an EHD (Edge Histogram Descriptor) of MPEG-7 and the color histogram. The EHD algorithm can be used to collect the gradient of edge distribution and to find a similar image. However, if you only search the edge gradient without considering the image color, the color shows a weakness. In order to overcome this problem, we use the color histogram and extract the feature to determine whether a similar image. The proposed method shows that the weakness of existing EHD can be overcome by using the color histogram.

  • 이 논문은 차선의 경계가 있는 도로에서 촬영된 흑백영상에서 차선에 관한 정보를 찾아 검출하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 영강을 블록 단위로 나누고 직선회귀모형(Linear Regression Analysis)을 사용하여 기울기와 y절편(intercept)을 구한다. 검출된 에지의 위치정보를 블록을 이용하여 다음 프레임에 보내고, 다음 프레임에서 에지의 위지정보와 y절편, 기울기를 이용해 계속 추적해 가는 방법을 통하여 검출의 정확도를 높이고자 하였다.

  • This paper suggests an approach to the subtle concept, "good", through the fuzzy logic and the design of the Canny edge detector of Gray scale images based on the rules of fuzzy anisotropic diffusion. The Canny edge detection algorithms design is to divide the gray levels into pixels and then calculate the diffusion coefficients at each pixel of non-edgy regions. Based on this processing, we present the Canny edge detector implementing fuzzy logic and comparing the results to other existing methods. The proposed approach is the narrow dynamic range of the gray-level image Sharpening the edge detection and has the advantage.

An Edge Directed Color Demosaicing Algorithm Considering Color Channel Correlation (컬러 채널 상관관계를 고려한 에지 방향성 컬러 디모자이킹 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose an edge directed color demosaicing algorithm considering color channel correlation. The proposed method consists of local region classification step and edge directional interpolation step. In the first step, each region of a given Bayer image is classified as normal edge, pattern edge, and flat regions by using intra channel and inter channel gradients. Especially, two criteria and verification process for the normal edge and pattern edge classification are used to reduce edge direction estimation error, respectively. In the second step, edge directional interpolation process is performed according to characteristics of the classified regions. For horizontal and vertical directional interpolations, missing color components are obtained from interpolation equations based on intra channel and inter channel correlations in order to improve the performance of the directional interpolations. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms conventional approaches in both objective and subjective terms.
