Facial Expression Feature Extraction for Expression Recognition (표정 인식을 위한 얼굴의 표정 특징 추출)

  • 본 논문에서는 사람의 감정, 건강상태, 정신상태등 다양한 정보를 포함하고 있는 웃음, 슬픔, 졸림, 놀람, 윙크, 무표정 등의 표정을 인식하기 위한 표정의 특징이 되는 얼굴의 국부적 요소인 눈과 입을 검출하여 표정의 특징을 추출한다. 표정 특징의 추출을 위한 전체적인 알고리즘 과정으로는 입력영상으로부터 칼라 정보를 이용하여 얼굴 영역을 검출하여 얼굴에서 특징점의 위치 정보를 이용하여 국부적 요소인 특징점 눈과 입을 추출한다. 이러한 특징점 추출 과정에서는 에지, 이진화, 모폴로지, 레이블링 등의 전처리 알고리즘을 적용한다. 레이블 영역의 크기를 이용하여 얼굴에서 눈, 눈썹, 코, 입 등의 1차 특징점을 추출하고 누적 히스토그램 값과 구조적인 위치 관계를 이용하여 2차 특징점 추출 과정을 거쳐 정확한 눈과 입을 추출한다. 표정 변화에 대한 표정의 특징을 정량적으로 측정하기 위해 추출된 특징점 눈과 입의 눈과 입의 크기와 면적, 미간 사이의 거리 그리고 눈에서 입까지의 거리 등 기하학적 정보를 이용하여 6가지 표정에 대한 표정의 특징을 추출한다.

  • An automatic facial feature points(FFPs) detection system is proposed. A face is represented as a graph where the nodes are placed at facial feature points(FFPs) labeled by their Gabor features and the edges are describes their spatial relations. An innovative flexible feature matching is proposed to perform features correspondence between models and the input image. This matching model works likes random diffusion process in the image space by employing the locally competitive and globally corporative mechanism. The system works nicely on the face images under complicated background, pose variations and distorted by facial accessories. We demonstrate the benefits of our approach by its implementation on the system.

  • In this paper, we propose a new feature matching algorithm by modifying and combining the FAST(Features from Accelerated Segment Test) feature detector and SURF feature descriptor which is robust to the distortion of the given image. Scale space is generated to consider the variation of the scale and determine the candidate of features in the image robust to the noise. The original FAST algorithm results in many feature points along edges. To solve this problem, we apply the principal curvatures for refining it. We also use SURF descriptor to make it robust against the variations in the image by rotation. Through the experiments, it is shown that the proposed algorithm has better performance than the conventional feature matching algorithms even though it has much less computational load. Especially, it shows a strength for noisy images.

  • This paper describes the results of 2D mapping, feature detection and matching to create the surrounding environment in the mounted stereo camera on Mobile robot. Extract method of image's feature in real-time processing for quick operation uses the edge detection and Sum of Absolute Difference(SAD), stereo matching technique can be obtained through the correlation coefficient. To estimate the location of a mobile robot using ZigBee beacon and encoders mounted on the robot is estimated by Kalman filter. In addition, the merged gyro scope to measure compass is possible to generate map during mobile robot is moving. The Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) of mobile robot technology with an intelligent robot can be applied efficiently in human life would be based.

  • In this paper, time, studied about method that can analyze iris change to using differential image of iris image that put interval and films and utilize as patient's health examination according to iris change. Time, Differential mage of iris image that put interval and films ran be used usefully to search early diagnosis of disease and unfolding process etc.. of disease by showing definitely change by tine. In the case of iris diagnostic system, iris outside area extracts iris area and uses Differential image of before filming image and image that film present to use canny edge detector as there is cay to extract iris area as do not help in diagnostic and change analyzed comparison.

Lane Detection System Based on Vision Sensors Using a Robust Filter for Inner Edge Detection (차선 인접 에지 검출에 강인한 필터를 이용한 비전 센서 기반 차선 검출 시스템)

  • In this paper, a lane detection and tracking algorithm based on vision sensors and employing a robust filter for inner edge detection is proposed for developing a lane departure warning system (LDWS). The lateral offset value was precisely calculated by applying the proposed filter for inner edge detection in the region of interest. The proposed algorithm was subsequently compared with an existing algorithm having lateral offset-based warning alarm occurrence time, and an average error of approximately 15ms was observed. Tests were also conducted to verify whether a warning alarm is generated when a driver departs from a lane, and an average accuracy of approximately 94% was observed. Additionally, the proposed LDWS was implemented as an embedded system, mounted on a test vehicle, and was made to travel for approximately 100km for obtaining experimental results. Obtained results indicate that the average lane detection rates at day time and night time are approximately 97% and 96%, respectively. Furthermore, the processing time of the embedded system is found to be approximately 12fps.

  • In this paper, we propose a highly precise vehicle detection method with low false alarm using billboard sweep stereo matching and multi-stage hypothesis generation. First, we capture stereo images from cameras established in front of the vehicle and obtain the disparity map in which the regions of ground plane or background are removed using billboard sweep stereo matching algorithm. And then, we perform the vehicle detection and tracking on the labeled disparity map. The vehicle detection and tracking consists of three steps. In the learning step, the SVM(support vector machine) classifier is obtained using the features extracted from the gabor filter. The second step is the vehicle detection which performs the sobel edge detection in the image of the left camera and extracts candidates of the vehicle using edge image and billboard sweep stereo disparity map. The final step is the vehicle tracking using template matching in the next frame. Removal process of the tracking regions improves the system performance in the candidate region of the vehicle on the succeeding frames.
