  • 전어 선망어업은 전어의 특성상 년 중 조업이 이루어지지 않고 어군이 연안에 머무는 4∼5개월 정도만 이루어지기 때문에 매년 단절적인 어업을 할 수 밖에 없다. 이러한 특성 때문에 전어 선망어업은 큰 관심을 받지 못하였고 연구나 조사도 이루어지지 않았으며 어민들도 년 중 어획이 이루어지는 것이 아니기에 과거부터 사용하여온 어구 및 어법을 답습하는 상태이다. (중략)

  • 고등어는 우리나라 전 해역에 광범위하게 분포하는 회유성 어종으로 주로 대형선망어업에 의해 연중 어획되며, 최근 연근해 전체 어획량의 10∼25%를 차지하는 산업적으로 중요한 어종이다. 또한 고등어는 전갱이, 정어리, 삼치, 붉은대게 와 함께 TAC 대상어종으로서 이러한 제도의 지속적인 실시를 위한 TAC산정 대상어종의 자원특성 파악이 선행되어져야 한다. 정확한 TAC추정을 위해서는 어업자원의 생물학적 특성 구명과 자원변동에 영향을 줄 수 있는 해양학적 특성도 함께 고려되어져야 한다. (중략)

A Bioeconomic Analysis on the Effectiveness of Marine Protected Area (MPA) (MPA 효과에 대한 생물경제학적 분석)

  • This study is a theoretical bioeconomic analysis to analyze the effectiveness of Marine Protected Area (MPA) implemented in different stock spatial distributions: Closed System, Source-Sink System, and Density-dependent System. In the analysis, an economic impact of vessel activities is also included and a joint effectiveness of MPA and input control is investigated as well. Results of the analysis show that total fisheries stocks are increased in all systems. However, total harvests are decreased when MPA is implemented in the closed system and in the sink patch of source-sink system. On the contrary, total harvests are increased or decreased according to the rate of stock migration and the level of fisheries stocks in the source patch of source-sink system and in the density-dependent system. Specifically, total harvests are increased more significantly as the rate of migration increases and the level of stock increases higher. In addition, the increase in fishing efforts is restricted due to the increase in fishing cost. Therefore, fishing efforts could not be increased greatly in the fishable area. When input control is combined with MPA, the total stocks could be more increased.

  • We studied the characteristics of catch fluctuation and distribution of yellow tail resources in Korean Waters from 1991 to 2000. The obtained results are summarized as follow, The distribution of yellow tail resources in Korean Waters was showed by mooving north-ward groups from Spring to Autumn and south-ward groups from Autumn to Winter with they passed Winter and spawned from the south of Jeju Island and Tsushima current. Therefore, the fishing ground of yellow tail by handline fishing around Marado targets a school of yellow tails which migrate south-ward so as to winter and spawn.

Comparison of Quality among Boiled-Dried Anchovies Caught from Different Sea (어획지 차이에 따른 마른멸치의 품질 비교)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the quality of the commercial boiled-dried anchovies (Engraulis japonicus) caught from different sea (southern, eastern and western sea) by determining chemical components and sensory evaluation. Product S was from the southern sea. product W was from the western sea and product E was from the eastern. The moisture content of product S was $22.9\%$ which was low compared with those of the product I ($27.4\%$%) and the product W ($27.8\%$). There are no difference in the acid-insoluble ash total amino acid (dry basis), mineral (dry basis) contents and fatty acid composition among products caught from different sea. On the other hand, The product S was superior in the lipid properties (peroxide value and (20:5n-3+22:6n-3)/16:0) and sensory Properties (appearance and color) to those of product I and product W. Judging from the above results of chemical analyses and sensory evaluation, the product S was the best quality among commercial boiled-dried anchovy, followed by product W, and then product E.

Improvement of the Fishing Gear and Fishing Method of the East-Sea Trawl Fishery (동해구 트롤 어구어법의 개량)

  • A serious of studies on the fishing gear and system of the East Sea trawl fishery was carried out to improve the fishing efficiency and the working conditions. As the first step of these studies, the fishing gear and system of the traditional East Sea trawl were checked in order to solve the some problems, such as the poor sheering efficiency of net mouth, the inconvenient fishing system of the side trawl and etc. And then the fishing system was reorganized from the side trawl into the stern trawl by setting up the net drum system on the stern deck, and introduction of two types of new designed nets, one for mainly the midwater trawl and the other for the bottom trawl. The results of the field experiment on the modified system and nets can be summarized as follows : 1. the modified system was well worked and could save the man-labour by about 80%. 2. The sheering efficiency of the improved net, A type was improved to 20 m height and 30 m width in the net mouth, and that of B type net, to 10 m height and 33 m width, compared with 1.5 m height and 15 m width in the traditional net. 3. Catch efficiency of pink shrimp in A or B type net was better about 3 or 5 times than that of traditional net, and in B net, for herring and other bottom fishes is better about 2 times than that of the traditional net.

  • 새우조망어업은 일정한 구획(해역) 안에서 행하는 어업으로 2002년까지 전라남도 557건, 경상남도 316건의 허가 정수가 구획별로 설정되어 있다. 이와 같은 새우조망어업은 우리나라 연안에 서식하는 새우류에 대한 다양한 연구 결과에서 해역에 따라 서식하는 종과 체장이 다른 것을 보고하고 있지만, 수산자원보호령 6조에서는 지역에 따른 분포 특성과 생물학적 특성을 무시하고 망목 내경 15mm 이하의 것을 사용을 금지하고 있다. (중략)

  • 저층트롤 어업은 주로 고가의 저서성 어족을 대상으로 조업이 이루어지고, 어구의 구조나 규모가 다양하며 발줄은 어구의 접지성을 유지하는 기능과 함께 어군을 망구에 구집 하는 역활을 한다. 저층 예망어구는 해저를 소해 하면서 예방하기 때문에 해저와의 마찰 저항이 많을 뿐만 아니라 뻘을 뜨거나 장애물에 걸리는 사고가 발생하기도 하여, 어획성능에도 많은 영향을 받는다. 이에 대한 연구로써, 독일에서는 빔 트롤의 체인의 형태에 따른 모형 트롤어구의 역학적 특성을 실험(1997, Uwe Richter)한 바가 있고, 일본에서도 발줄의 형상에 관한 연구(1992,Fuwa)가 있다.
