Systematic Training for Effective Parenting, developed by Dinkmeyer and McKay, is a parent education program that emphasizes social-emotional development. The present research studied the applicability of STEP to Korean mothers by examining changes in mothers' self-concept, mother's child-rearing attitudes, and children's behavior. The subjects of this study were 43 mothers of a kindergarten in Chonju City. 25 mothers were assigned to the control group and 18 mothers to the experimental group. Primary observes, consisting of 43 fathers of kindergarten children, and secondary observers, consisting of 43 Woosuk University students observed mothers' child-rearing attitudes and children's behavior. Instruments included the self-concept test by Jung Woonsik, Schaefer's Maternal Behavior Research Instrument, O Kiseon's Parent Child Relationship Test, Fear's parent questionnaire, and McKay's Adlerian Parental Assessment of Child Behavior. The mothers' child-rearing attitudes and the children's behavior are recorded by the observers and were compared with mothers' responses. The data were analyzed by MANOVA (multivariate analysis of variance), and ANOVA (analysis of variance). While the MANOVA showed no significant difference between the control and the experimental groups in changing the mothers' self-concept, differences in 5 of the 8 subfactors showed that STEP implemented positive change in the self-identity, self-satisfaction, self-behavior, personal self and family self in the experimental group. The MANOVA showed a significant difference between the two groups in changing the mothers' child-rearing attitudes. That is after participating in the STEP program, the mothers of the experimental group showed more significant progress than those of the control group. Mothers' observations of positive change in children's behavior agreed with those of the primary and secondary observers.
Purpose: This study was done to develop and test a home-based discharge program. Methods: The study design was a pretest-posttest nonequivalent nonsynchronized quasi-experimental design. Participants were mothers of premature infants on oxygen therapy at home. The participants, 49 mothers, were assigned to either the experimental group (24) or control group (25). Data collection was conducted from September, 2008 through February, 2009. Maternal confidence and anxiety were measured using a questionnaire. Chi-square test, t-test and Repeated Measures ANOVA were used to analysis the data. Results: Two hypotheses, "Maternal confidence in the experimental group will be higher than that of the control group" and "Perceived anxiety level in the experimental group will be lower than that of the control group", were set up and both hypotheses were supported as there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups. Conclusion: It suggests that the discharge program developed in this study is an efficient intervention method to boost maternal confidence of the mothers with premature infants and to decrease their anxiety; therefore, this program is expected to be of use in nursing interventions.
This study was designed to develop the nutrition education program for the mothers of preschool children in kindergarten and evaluate its educational effects. Nutrition education program was developed on the basis of the concept which consisted of nutrition, nutrients, menu planning, cooking, recognition of nutrition education, food selection and menu planning, will of nutrition improvement. Subjects consisted of 41 mothers. All the subjects completed a pretest and a posttest. The nutrition knowledge score of pretest was 33.77$\pm$12.53 and that of posttest was 55.25$\pm$16.32 and the difference was significant(p<0.001). The Food attitude score of pretest was 66.40$\pm$6.26 and that of posttest was 70.76$\pm$6.05 and the difference was significant(p<0.001). Food attitude score of high score-group of nutrition knowledge was higher than that of low score-group of nutrition knowledge significantly, in pretest(p<0.001) and posttest(p<0.01) respectively. Nutrition knowledge score and food attitude score of children of educated parents of nutrition program was higher than that of children of uneducated parents of nutrition program but the difference was not significant. The nutrition densities of vitamin A(p<0.001), vitamin B$_1$(p<0.05), vitamin B$_2$(p<0.001), folic acid(p<0.05), Ca(p<0.001), p(p<0.001), calculated using the INQ(Index of Nutritional Quality), was significantly improved by nutrition consult and education program. The MAR(Mean Adequacy Ratio) of pretest was 0.79$\pm$0.23 and that of posttest was 0.91$\pm$0.16 and the difference was significant(p<0.05). (Korean J Nutrition 34(2) : 230-240, 2001)
The purpose of this study is to investigate how young children's excessive immersion in smartphone games affects their prosocial and problematic behavior. To achieve the purpose, a qustionnaire survey was conducted with 147 children aged 3 to 5 going to two kindergartens and two child-care centers which were judged to have similar social and economic conditions, their mothers, and 16 teachers in charge of them. For data processing, SPSS 18.0 program was used to conduct frequency analysis, correlation analysis, and simple regression analysis. The study results were presented as follows. First, the more seriously the young children had excessive immersion in smartphone games, the more negatively their prosocial behavior was influenced. Secondly, the more severely the young children had excessive immersion in smartphone games, the more problematic behavior the young children had. This study is meaningful in the point that it analyzed the impact of their addiction in smartphone games on their prosocial and problematic behavior, and thereby helped to improve a plan of effectively using smartphones as educational media.

On the base of this situation art therapy realize more important than before and gain power. Therefore, this research consider that clay therapy effect for autistic just children and investigate function of catharsis through the case study. Also, make study that social rappot and function of catharsis develop for children who has autism. The suggest effect of synergy which come from clay therapy(education of ceramic) and development of education program.
The purpose of this study was to verify the effectiveness of the parent education program through play to improve the relationships between mothers and children. The subject of this study consisted of 30 mothers with 4-7 aged child attending S-day-care center located in Ik-San. In order to examine the effectiveness of the parent education program through play, two groups were divided into 15 participants each. The experimental group participated in the parent education program for total 8 sessions(2 sessions per week over the 4 weeks) while the control group didn't. The instrument were 'Maternal Affection & Control Resources Scale developed by Cho, Bok Hee(1991) and 'Teacher-Child relationship Scale' by Pinata & Steinberg. Teacher-Child relationship Scale was modified to be appropriate for use with this program. Parental acceptance level was measured by modified Parental Acceptance Scale (P.P.A.S.) by porter(1954). The data were analyzed by SPSSWIN program. The statistical methods for data analysis were frequency, t-test. paired t-test. The main results of this study were as follows : First, the mothers who participated in the parent education program through play showed improvement in affectionate attitudes than before. Second, the mothers who participated in the parent education program through play have been improved in familiarity and have been decreased in conflict of relationships of mother-child than those who did not participated in. Third, the mothers who participated in parent education program through play improve the recognition on respect to children's emotion, emotional expression right, uniqueness of children's temperament and needs to children's independency and autonomy.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the association among high school students' self-efficacy, self-resilience, and oral health promotion lifestyle, identify relevant factors, and provide basic data for oral health promotion programs. The subjects of this study were 287 students, research tool was the structured, anonymous, self-administrated questionnaire. The data were analyzed by SPSSWIN 18.0, Pearson correlation and Hierarchial multiple regression et al. Significant positive correlation was found between self-efficacy and self-resilience and between self-efficacy and oral health promotion lifestyle and positive correlation was also found between self-resilience and oral health promotion lifestyle. Mother's education, past oral health behavior, self-efficacy, and self-resilience affected oral health promotion lifestyle, with the explanatory power of 32.3%. Since self-efficacy and self-resilience are correlated with oral health promotion lifestyle, it is necessary to develop a plan for activating oral health education with the objective of improving the combination of these factors.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the related variables of the resilience of Korean young adults. The sample was 464 young adults aged 19-34 years who had never been married, both parents alive and living with one or more of their parents in the Seoul metropolitan region. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, factor analysis, t-test, paired t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS ver.23 and AMOS 23.0. The resilience of young adults was significantly related to the variables of gender, maternal helicopter parenting, bonding social capital, and bridging social capital. As a result, this study showed that the resilience of young adults was formed and promoted by the combined effects of the family-related environment and social-related environment. The results of this study provide meaningful data that should be considered in the counseling and education field when developing programs to build the resilience of young adults. Policy implications for improving the resilience of Korean young adults are discussed.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to verify the effectiveness of the Environmental Hazards Exposure Prevention Program for Mothers with Young Child (EHEPP-MYC) and to provide basic data for environmental health projects in the community. Methods: EHEPP-MYC was developed based on the protection motivation theory. A quasi-experimental design was applied to evaluate the effectiveness of the program. The number of study participants was 30 in the experimental group and 31 in the control group. The intervention applied to the experimental group consisted of lectures as the main method, current affairs programs, discussions, booklets, animations, and practical training. The program was held twice a week for a total of 4 sessions of 60 minutes each. The effect of applying the program was measured three times through surveys (before, immediately after, and two weeks after the intervention) and analyzed through repeated measures ANOVA. Results: The EHEPP-MYC had significant effects on preventive behavior, perceived severity, perceived vulnerability, self-efficacy, response efficacy, and response costs at three time points. Conclusion: EHEPP-MYC has been shown to be effective in promoting environmental hazards prevention behaviors among mothers of young child. EHEPP-MYC can be used as baseline data for projects developing programs to prevent exposure to environmental hazards and improve the environmental health of communities.

The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for developing nutrition education program focusing on the health-oriented food choice and purchase which affect the adolescents' health. The data was collected by means of questionnaire from the total of 273 students who were living in cities and myun district and final 253 questionnaires were analyzed by using the SPSS/WIN 10.0 program. The results are summarized as follows. First, the major source of information on food was mass media, especially advertisement and students spent $20{\sim}30%$ of allowance on food purchase. The students purchased cookies or ice cream mainly, once every 2-3 days at the store near house, after school, for appeasing hunger or thirst. The influence of gender, mother's education level, economic status of family, the amount of allowance, the period of receiving allowance, the details of allowance recording, school location on food purchasing behavior were significant(p<.05). Second, the price and taste were the most important factors when the students purchase food. Nutrition and food sanitation/safety were considered less important by the students. The factors considered when the students purchase food were significantly different between Sender, father and mother's education level, and the amount of allowance(p<.05). Third, middle school students' food purchase behavior were influenced by advertizement, friends, parents. The influence of advertisement, friends, parents when the students purchase food were significantly different between gender, mother's career, economic status of family, and the amount of allowance(p.<05). From tile result of this study, the middle school students consider price and taste more than the other factors related nutrition and health in purchasing foods. Therefore, it will be necessary to develope and enforce nutrition education program focusing on how to choose and purchase safe, nutritious, delicious and cheap foot for adolescents.
