어린이의 생활은 놀이의 생활이라고 말할 정도로 대부분의 시간을 놀이를 하고 있다고 할 수있다. 놀이란 어린이의 생활에 정상적으로 따르는 것이며 어린이는 놀이를 통하여 모든면의 성장발달이 이루어지고 있다. 즉 놀이는 어린이의 성장발달에 매우 중요한 것이다. 어린이를 접하고 다루게 되는 어른들은 어린이의 놀이에 관한 충분한 지식을 가지고 잘 지도하여 어린이의 건전한 발달에 공헌하여야 한다. 본 논문은 학령전 어린이의 놀이를 중심으로 하여 놀이의 중요성과 성장발달에 미치는 영향을 보았고 어린이들이 주로 하고 있는 놀이의 일반적인 발달단계와 여러놀이를 위한 어른들의 지도를 다루었다. 어린이를 기르고 있는 부모들 어린이를 지도하는 교사들 또 앞으로 부모가 될 사람들에게 다소나마 도움이 되고자 한다.

어린이 가구는 어른 가구의 축소가 아닌 새로운 제품 분야이다. 이미 많은 업체에서 어린이 가구를 출시하는데 대체적으로 안전성을 이유로 고가의 제품이다. 지금 사회의 가구 구성의 다양화로 인한 어린이가구가 한 제품의 분야가 되었기 때문이다. 이에 어린이 가구에 대한 안전성이 높아졌으며 실용성과 안전성을 최우선으로 하고 있다. 이는 어린이들이 가구를 놀이용으로 신체적 접촉을 하고 있기 때문이다. 가구의 특징으로 어린이들의 피부에 접촉이 잦고 가구의 재질에 따른 촉감 등에 반응할 수 있기 때문이다. 이는 어린이가 어린이가구에 부딪히는 느낌, 이용성, 재미와도 연결되어 감성을 키울 수 있다고 본다. 어린이들은 표현성이 미흡하기 때문에 어린이가구의 안전성에 보다 더 주의해야한다고 여긴다. 즉 어린이가구의 안전성을 추구는 실제적 구매욕구를 가지고 있는 소비자인 부모들의 인식에 변화가 필요하가다. 어린이 가구의 시장은 중국이나 동남아에서 제조되어 한국으로 들어오는 경우가 있다. 그러므로 안전성에 대한 인식을 위해 재질과 실용성을 가미한 어린이 가구가 필요하다.

'어린이책의 다양성과 어린이 놀이 문화의 이해를 넓히자'는 취지 아래 출판도시문화재단에서 매년 주최해오고 있는 파주어린이책한마당이 '2005파주어린이책잔치'로 새롭게 이름을 바꾸고 지난 9월30일에서 10월9일까지 경기도 파주출판도시에서 개최됐다. 올해로 3회째를 맞이한 이 행사는 다양한 어린이책 전시와 체험프로그램을 펼치는 문화축제다. '책에 대해서 재미나게 배우자'는 주제하에 기획된 2005어린이책잔치는 '어린이 책-신나는 이미지 세계'라는 제목으로 문을 열었다. 이와 함께 파주출판도시에 입주한 출판사들은 저마다 준비해 온 책마을 집들이 행사를 통해 어린이 책에 관련된, 혹은 어린이 눈높이에 맞춘 다양한 이미지의 책잔치를 펼침으로써 많은 호응을 얻었다.

어린이가 위험에 노출된 경우 그 안전을 확보하기 위해 어린이 안전에 관한 「어린이안전관리에 관한 법률」이 제정되었다. 이에 어린이이용시설종사자는 행정안전부에서 지정하는 어린이 안전교육 전문기관에서 이론 및 실습 교육을 매년 이수하여야 한다. 한국어린이안전재단은 어린이 안전교육 전문인력 및 시설을 확보하여 어린이 안전교육 전문기관으로 지정되었다. 이에 효과적인 안전교육을 제공하기 위한 운영방안에 대해 논의하고 대응한다.

The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the development process of Korean children's libraries from 1945 to 2002. The development process of Korean children's library is divided into stages as follows. First, the preparation period (after colonial liberation in 1945~1976) is the time when library services for children were started, focusing on children's rooms in public libraries. The children's libraries were not recognized enough to be established. Second, the growing period (1977~2002), was primarily aimed at providing library services to children. In this period, the children's libraries were mainly established in the private sector rather than the public sector.

어린이 장난감은 과거보다 더 안전성의 필요가 되고 있다. 현대 사회의 가족변화로 인한 구성원으로 인하여 어린이가 귀한 존재가 입장이 되었기 때문이다. 이에 따른 어린이 용구에 대한 관심의 집중도가 높아졌으며 장난감에 대한 인식 변화와 안전성을 추구하고자 하는 노력도 많이 커졌다. 이는 어린이들이 장난감을 가장 많이 신체로 접촉하고 있기 때문이다. 장난감의 특성상 어린이, 특히 유아들이지만 입에 물거나 피부에 문지르고 소리나는 것에 민감하고 장난감의 재질에 따른 향, 촉감 등에 반응할 수 있기 때문이다. 이는 어린이의 처음 부딪히는 감각의 느낌과도 연결되어 감각의 기능에서 발전을 가져올 수 있다고 본다. 어린이들의 연령층에 따라 표현력이 부족하기 때문일 것이므로 어린이 장난감의 안전성에 어른들이 주의해야할 이유라고 여긴다. 즉 어린이 장난감의 안전성을 추구할 수 있는 어린이뿐만 아니라 제2의 소비자인 부모, 친척, 친지, 어린이와 연관된 직종의 어른들일 것이다. 장난감의 시장은 서구보다 발전되지 않았지만 근래에 들어 어린이 장난감은 중국이나 동남아에서 제조되어 한국으로 들어오는 경우가 많다. 따라서 안전성에 대한 인식의 제고와 실질적 노력 추구가 더욱 더 필요하다.

어린이도서관에 대한 사회적 관심이 증폭되고 있다. 올해 초부터 MBC TV '!느낌표‘의 ’기적의 도서관 프로젝트‘가 가동되었고, 지난 2월 20일 서울시 노원구청에서는 지자체 최초의 어린이도서관인 ’노원어린이도서관‘을 개관한 바 있다. 이렇듯 어린이도서관 만들기 운동은 전국의 어린이들과 아동교육 관계자들의 뜨거운 지지와 격려를 받고 있다. 이와 관련해 지난 3월 12일 부산여자대학에서 어린이도서관을 개관했다는 소식을 접했다. 대학에서 어린이도서관을 개관했다기에 본지에서 이에 대한 내용을 좀 더 자세히 다루고자 부산여자대학 정영재 어린이도서관장과 서면인터뷰를 하였다.

어린이 도서연구회는 어린이를 도서 선택의 주체로 인식하고 국내 어린이 교육문화 운동을 실천하기 위해 설립된 단체다. 이곳에서는 어린이 책을 연구하고 좋은 책을 골라 권장하는 등 어린이 삶을 바르게 가꾸기 위한 활발한 활동을 펼쳐오고 있다. 본지에서는 제16회 간행물윤리상 시상식에서 독서진흥상을 수상한 부길만 어린이도서연구회 이사장(한국출판문화학회장, 동원대학 교학처장)을 만나 대담을 나누는 자리를 마련했다.

Currently, our country doesn't have standard children's library classification whose development reflects characteristics of children's library and children's books, and for this, not only the children's library working staffs but also users have to deal with a lot of discomforts and difficulties. This study was to take into account these facts of reality and attempted to develop Children's Library Classification (CLC) that is widely applicable to children's libraries. For this, the paper examined the category of children's books and analyzed classification conditions of children's library. Based on this examination and analysis, the paper developed CLC. This study finds its meaning in that the CLC developed by this study was based on KDC, was newly reformed for children's library, and was developed by reflecting the characteristics of children's library and children's books as much as possible in the formation of classification category and progression level per subject; the author expects that it could actually be applied to classification of children's books regardless of the size and type of children's libraries.

The purpose of this study is identify factors influenced of children's library use and management through investigating the use patterns and recognition of children's parents on children's libraries. Questionnaire was used as a research method. Data was collected from the parents who entered library entrance with their child and children on four public libraries. Six factors were identified from four public libraries setting. There were the spatial planning based upon library use patterns, the flexibility and mobile furnishings, the activity area for causing children's Interesting, the guarantee of safety Place for children, the quiet area for emotional stability, and functional place for moving around.
