This work was undertaken to obtain some characteristics of proteolytic enzyme of marine gastropods such as sea hare, Aplysia kurodai, top shell, Turbo cornutus, and abalone, Haliotis discus hannai. An influence of pH, temperature and some chemicals on proteolytic activity of the crude enzyme extracted from digestive tract of the samples was taken into account and the stability of the enzyme during the storage at low temperature was also discussed. In comparison of the activities of the crude enzyme from the samples to the optimum conditions, it was characterized that abalone has twice or the more times higher activities than the other two species of the gastropoda in the acid and weak acid region, while, in the alkaline region, sea hare has six or the more times higher acitivities than the other two species. The proteolytic activity was facilitated by $Mn^{2+}$, some reducing agents, EDTA and DTT, and inhibited by $Hg^{2+}$ and SDS, but the other chemicals were not significantly affected to the activity. The low temperature storage of the enzymes of sea hare and top shell at $0^{\circ}C\;or\;-20^{\circ}C$ was not affected to the enzymic activity under the optimum pH condition except in the alkaline region. On the other hand, the low temperature storage was brought about no significant effect on the activity of the enzymes extracted from abalone under the optimum condition of the weak acid region, but apparently influenced to the activity under the optimum condition of the acid and alkaline region.
The Cretaceous basaltic rocks in Gyeongsang Basin are temporally and spatially dispersed widely in thick sedimentary piles: Chilgog basaltic rock (CGB) and Cheongyongsa basaltic rock (CSB) in the Shindong Group, and Hakbong basaltic rocks (HBB), Osibbong basalt (OSB), Secheondong basaltic rocks (SCB), Haman basaltic rocks (HAB), Hama basaltic rocks (HMB), and Chaeyaksan basaltic rocks (CYB) in the Hayang Group, upwardly in their stratigraphy. Chilgog basaltic rock is merely identified as pebbles in the Shilla Conglomerate and its provenance has not been found, and it is characteristics that the volcanics except Osibbong basalt and Chaeyaksan basaltic rocks are very small in both of their thickness and extension. Petrochemical diversity of the basaltic rocks are revealed; OSB and SCB distributed in the Yeongyang Minor Basin preserve the calc-alkaline natures in major and immobile minor element geochemistry, but CGB, HBB, HAB, and CYB reflect that they might be originated from calc-alkaline basaltic magma of volcanic arc in continental margin area by trace elements and altered to alkaline suites in the viewpoint of their major element geochemistry. Major and trace element geochemistry of CSB and HMB suggests that they may be derived from within -plate alkaline magma contaminated by the upper continental crust, especially in the case of the former.

A mathematical model for computing the bed friction of combined wave-current flow has been developed based on the Prandtl's mixing length theory. Using various approximate expressions, solutions are obtained explicitly. The computational results are compared and found in reasonable agreements with the data of field measurements.

Three ester-type chitin derivatives were synthesized by reacting chitin with acetic anhydride, propionic anhydride and n-butyric anhydride to form acetyl chitin(AC), propionyl chitin(PC) and n-butyryl chitin(BC). Methanesulfonic acid was used as a catalyst. FT-IR spectra and solid state CP/MAS $^{13}C-NMR$ spectra of three chitin derivatives showed that the substituents were mainly incorporated in the $C_6$ position of chitin. The ester-type chititn derivatives were dissolved well in formic acid and swollen in aqueous acidic solution.

The present study was conducted to evaluate the immunomodulatory effects of Dangguijakyak-san(당귀작약산). We investigated the effects of cell proliferation in mouse spleen cell and RAW 264.7 macrophages cells. Dangguijakyak-san enhanced mitogenic activity in the dose-response manner in mouse spleen cells and RAW 264.7 macrophages cells. In nitric oxide (NO) synthesis and iNOS mRNA expression by Dangguijakyak-san, Dangguijakyaksan alone had an effect on NO synthesis and iNOS mRNA expression in RAW 264.7 cells. NO production and iNOS mRNA expression which is excessively induced by LPS decreased after treatment of Dangguijakyak-san. The expressions of cytokine gene by Dangguijakyak-san investigated using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). In RT-PCR, IL-1α, IL-1β and IL-6 mRNA expressions induced in Dangguijakyak-san-treated RAW 264.7 cells. These data indicate that 1) Dangguijakyak-san can modulate various immune response and 2) the immunomodulatory effects of Dangguijakyak-san may be, in part, associated with the regulation of NO synthesis, the expressions of these cytokine as well as the mitogenic effect on spleen cells and macrophages cells.
This article studies the understanding of acid and base concepts of the 3rd-grade students in middle school. An effective teaching strategy for improving their acid and base concepts was designed by considering students' prior knowledge using Lawson's learning cycle method. The control group was adapted by the traditional teaching strategy which isn't considering students' prior knowledge. After the class, understanding of acid and base concepts of treatment group was significantly higher than that of control group. But the level of students' understanding of strong acid, weak acid strong base and the strength of acid in aqueous solution was low even after the class of two groups. This indicates indirectly that the microscopic views of acid and base concepts in aqueous solution are not easy to learn for these students. For the four categories of acid and base concepts, students' responses were reviewed carefully and classified into scientific conceptions and misconceptions. These results will be useful for developing an effective teaching strategy of acid and base concepts.

We are used with the alkaline ion water which an application field does to object for drinking water compare with the alkaline ion water which asked ion acid electrolysis so as to be very different. This is used with sterilization disinfection use by residual chlorine in case of strong acidity according to ph intensity, and in case of middle acidity use by washing and face washing, and mix with meal materials in case of weak acidity widely usable in cooking. Acid ion water generates as we electrolyze water. Chlorine gas and sodium hydroxide etc. was generated at electrolysis process, and we have toward sterilizing power. Derelicts such as chlorine, phosphorus, sulfur etc. are gathered from a negative ion, and we make acid ion water to + electrode direction in electrolysis. We used a diaphragm in order to disconnect too acid water and alkaline water. We implemented so that the acid water which it came down to three kinds of PWM voltage to PWM (pulse width modulation) control, and implementation method of ph intensity change authorized ph intensity between weak acidity to electrode in strong acidity as we used Microprocessor, and intensity was adjusted successively by PWM control was generated.
