Development of Hair Accessory Designs Using Royal Hair Ornaments (왕실 머리장식을 응용한 헤어 액세서리 디자인 개발)

  • The recent trend in younger generations of wearing traditional costumes or incorporating fusion hanbok into daily wear necessitates the development of modern hair accessories to complement hanbok. The purpose of this study is to develop practical and modern hair accessory designs inspired by royal women's hair ornaments that complement hanbok, and therefore expand the scope of fashion content development utilizing hanbok culture as well as meeting the demand for various experiences of traditional culture. This research studied the literature on traditional hairstyles and accessories of Queen Yeong and constructed models of these accessories for the purpose of empirical research. The production process first required creating a basic foundation of nylon mesh reflecting the silhouette of a traditional hairstyle, and then grafting a digital textile printed fabric using majestic and extravagant royal relics on top, thus employing the trompe l'oeil technique to ultimately give the impression of wearing traditional jewelry. As a result, a total of six hair accessory designs were completed, produced with hairbands, hair pins, and hair ties. In addition, the accessories are designed to be easily worn regardless of the wearer's hair style, and the stiff yet flexible nylon mesh effectively expresses the shape of a voluminous hairstyle and creates an optical illusion, blending into the hair. These research results present a unique aesthetic and cultural experience to the greater public seeking both daily entertainment and value from rarity.

  • 아시아 최고의 사진영상분야 전시회로 손꼽히는 '2010 서울국제사진영상기자재전' (이하 P&I 2010)이 지난 4월 29일부터 5월 2일까지 나흘간 서울 코엑스 본관 1층 A홀에서 성황리에 펼쳐졌다. 올해로 19회째를 맞이한 이 전시회에는 삼성을 비롯한 캐논, 니콘, 소니, 올림푸스, 파나소닉 등 디지털 카메라 제조사와 관련 주변기기 및 액세서리 업체 등 총 112개 업체가 참가하여 527부스 규모로 전년대비 28%나 증가한 역대 최대 규모로 치러졌다. 특히 올해 전시회의 화두는 최첨단 디지털이미징 기술을 바탕으로 한 '하이브리드 디지털 카메라'로 사진인들로부터 뜨거운 관심을 받았다. 또한 새로운 기능의 출력장비를 비롯하여 다양한 사진 소프트웨어, 사진 액세서리, 사진 스튜디오 관련 장비 등을 한 자리에서 봄으로써 최신 기술동항의 흐름을 파악할 수 있는 좋은 기회가 되었다. 올해 전시기간동안 6만7052명의 참관객들이 발걸음을 해 사진영상분야에 대한 소비자들의 뜨거운 관심도를 확인할 수 있었다.

Influences of Mobile Phone Electromagnetic Wave on Human Body According to Holding Method by the Hand and Wearing Accessories (손과 액세서리에 의한 휴대폰 전자파의 인체 노출 특성)

  • In this paper, we compared the spatial peak SAR values measured with and without holding the hand-held phones to check the present recommended spatial peak SAR. To better understand the analysis of the SAR effect values, SAR is measured with hand phantoms, made and recommended for the use of Bar-type and Folder-type hand-held phones. The measured results have shown that use of the hand considerably reduces the spatial peak SAR value in a head phantom. We compared the spatial peak SAR values measured with and without accessories. To better understand the analysis of the effects of SAR values with accessories, SAR is measured with accessories composed of three kinds of earrings and glasses. The measured results proved in study that the spatial peak SAR value in a head phantom is not affected by the earrings but by the glasses. The glasses considerably increases the spatial peak SAR value in a head phantom while using Bar-type phones, although the effects are modest with Folder-type phones.

  • Korean traditional paper 'Hanji' made from the bark of the paper mulberry tree is a good handicraft material because of its high viscosity, durability, dyeability, toughness, flexibility, plasticity, and manipulability. Hanji has been used as a textile material such as cotton wool for protection and keeping us warm from cold weather. However, Hanji has many limitations, while other textile materials have many advantages of such as washability, being sunproof, and fast coloring. The purpose of this study is to review physical properties, formation ability, and dyeability of Hanji as a material of fashion accessary. The contents of this study are composed of 5 parts: 1. To introduce the necessities of this study, 2. To review a historical background of Hanji and to identify its physical characteristics as a fashion accessary material, 3. To review and to compare techniques such as bonding, quilting, knitting, creasing and holding, twisting, folding & braiding, paper pasting, coloring & cutting, and outwashing(?) in making Hanji fashion accessaries, 4. To review dyeing and finishing techniques to increase commercial value, 5. To identify the best fashion accessary materials made of Hanji. The most important characteristics of Hanji as a fashion accessary material are its toughness in a wet state, fast color fixing, and flexibility. Especially weaving and knitting are considered as the most desirable techniques to make fashion accessary products stronger and more practical.

A Study on the Effects of Wearing of a Black Dress and Accessories on Image Perception (검정 드레스와 액세서리 착용에 따른 이미지 지각 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in image perception, and to investigate the differences in age and income inferences according to the wearing of accessories with black dress. A quasi-experimental method was used for this study. The experimental design was a $2{\times}3{\times}3$(necklace${\times}$earrings${\times}$corsage) factorial design. The subjects were 610 female college students residing in Seoul. The model in the stimulus photographs was a woman with straight long hair. She wore a black one-piece dress with round neckline and short sleeves. The findings indicated that the wearing of a necklace enhanced individuality, attractiveness, and cuteness in women. Professionalism and individuality were heightened when she wore an earring. The red corsage enhanced individuality, but it had a negative effect in professionalism. As for the effect on interaction, attractiveness was more highly perceived when both necklace and large earrings were worn without a corsage. The absence of both necklace and earrings led to a low perception of professionalism, attractiveness, and individuality. The wearing of a necklace was more strongly linked to older age and high income than not wearing it, and it was perceived as more youthful if earrings were not worn. As for interactions, the wearing of small earrings and a red corsage was linked to the oldest age.
