해양사고 원인규명 통합 분석 시뮬레이션 시스템

  • 해양사고 원인규명 통합 분석 시뮬레이션 시스템은 해양사고가 발생하는 과정(선회)을 포함하여 충돌, 좌초, 접촉, 전복, 침수 및 침몰 등의 해양사고를 유체-구조 연성 해석기법의 고도 정밀 M&S 시스템을 사용하여 과학적으로 해양사고의 원인을 분석하고 사고의 손상과정을 체계적으로 재현할 수 있는 시스템이다. 해양사고는 육상과 공중에서 발생하는 자동차와 비행기 등의 충돌이나 추락사고와는 달리 공기의 밀도보다 천배의 물에서 발생하므로 물에서 부양되고, 운동하고, 선내에 물이 침수되고, 운항 중일 때 파도도 생성시키고, 두 물체가 근접할 경우에는 압력이 압착되고, 두 물체가 스쳐 지나거나 안벽이나 해저를 근접하여 운항할 경우에는 압력이 저하되는 등 물에서의 연성효과(interface effect)를 충분히 고려하여 재현할 수 있어야 정확하게 해양사고의 원인을 규명 및 분석할 수 있을 것이다. 또한 황천에서 발생하는 해양사고일 경우에는 강한 조루, 강풍 및 해일성 파도 등을 불규칙 스펙트럼을 사용하여 정확히 구현하여야 황천에서 발생하는 해양사고의 원인을 충분히 분석할 수 있을 것이다. 이러한 해양사고 통합 분석 시뮬레이션 시스템을 이용하여 과학적이고 정확한 해양사고의 원인규명 및 분석으로 심판의 획기적인 신뢰 구축과 심판 지연에 따른 사회적 비용을 최소화하고, 해양사고의 원인과 과실 책임, 나아가서 사고 재발방지 대책수립 등에도 활용하는데도 크게 기여할 것으로 사료된다.

Changes in The Chemical Composition of Apple Slices Pretreated with Supercritical Carbon Dioxide (건조 전처리 방법으로써 초임계 이산화탄소가 사과절편의 화학적 성분에 미치는 영향)

  • We investigated changes in the chemical composition of apple slices after pretreatment with supercritical $CO_2$. Total phenolic levels increased with increasing temperature, although the concentrations were lower in pretreated material than in fresh or untreated slices. The levels of vitamin C and malic acid in pretreated slices were also lower than in untreated or fresh apple slices. Little difference was evident among various pretreatmentconditions. It was found that supercritical $CO_2$ served not as a solvent but rather as a means of tissue compression. Supercritical $CO_2$ compressed the apple slices, causing juice to be extruded. The juice disappeared when the supercritical $CO_2$ pressure was released.

  • This study aimed to develop experiment-based limiting heights for interior, nonload-bearing, cold-formed steelwall panels sheathed with gypsum board and subjected to uniformly distributed lateral loadings. Th e limiting heightswere evaluated by their strength (for flexure, shear, and web crippling) and deflection. Limiting heights for deflectionlimits of L/360, L/240, and L/120 (where L is the height of the wall) were developed over the range of typical designpressures.

  • As increasing gastrointestinal pathologies, general and thoracic surgeries using circular staplers have been dramatically increased. Because of convenience for surgical procedure, recently, various circular staplers for anastomosis have been used widely. Since the circular staplers conventional have used the displacement control method, however, the anastomosis could have various biomechanical conditions. To do that, biomechanical system of gastrointestinal soft tissue should be examined to control the anastomotic condition. In this study, a new intelligent robot used in circular anastomosis. The intelligent robot driven by a stepper motor and controlled by a digital signal processor.

Pressurization and Initial Extrusion of a Squeezed O-Ring into a Clearance Gap (유체압력(流體壓力)에 의한 Squeezed O-ring의 압착(壓着)과 초기(初期) 압출(押出) Mechanism)

  • When an O-ring is installed in a high fluid pressure device, a section of the O-ring is extruded into the piston-cylinder clearance gap. Any tendency towards extrusion will induce wear in dynamic applications, leading to premature failure of the seal. In this study, the mechanism of initial extrusion of the O-ring was studied, 1.e., how much amount of the O-ring will be extruded into the clearance gap at a certain pressure. The relationship between extrusion depth and a clearance gap or fluid pressure were studied by finite element analysis (FEA). After that, Salita's experimental data were analyzed. The result is that Initial extrusion depth for an O-ring into a clearance gap was 1.11 times the product of dimensionless pressure difference $(p-p_1)/E$ and clearance gap c. The required pressure $p_1$ for zero extrusion depth was found to decrease logarithmically with increasing clearance gap.

  • In this paper, we focused on the optimization of bonding conditions for the successful thermo-compression bonding of electrodes between the RPCB and FPCB with Sn-Pb solder. The peel strength was proportionally affected by the bonding conditions, such as pressure, temperature, and time. In order to figure out an optimized bonding condition, fracture energies were calculated through F-x (force-displacement) curves in the peel test. The optimum condition for the thermo-compression bonding of electrodes between the RPCB and FPCB was found to be temperature of $225^{\circ}C$ and time of 7 s, and its peel strength was 22 N/cm.

  • Waste vinyl generated from household waste has been used as a solid refuse fuel (SRF) due to the presence of impurities such as soil, metal, and glass; however, the amount of SRF used has been decreasing owing to recent environmental problems, thereby necessitating the need for recycling. In this study, the mixed recycled raw material produced from household waste vinyl and polyethylene (PE) single recycled raw material produced from agricultural waste vinyl were examined. Raw material analysis revealed that waste vinyl was mainly composed of polyethylene, and approximately 2% of ash remained in the mixed recycled raw material, whereas no ash was found in the PE single recycled raw material. In addition, the analysis of tensile strength according to the mixing ratio of the two recycled raw materials revealed that the highest tensile strength was approximately 16 MPa under the heat treatment temperature of 200 ℃, compression pressure of 30 MPa, and a mixing ratio of 3:7 (mixed:PE single). In addition, the highest bending strength was approximately 39 MPa under the heat treatment temperature of 200 ℃, compression pressure of 30 MPa, and a mixing ratio of 3:7 (mixed:PE single). Therefore, the possibility of recycling waste vinyl was suggested by investigating the change in strength characteristics according to the mixing ratio of the recycled raw materials.

Development of Elastic Shaft Alignment Design Program (선체변형을 고려한 탄성 축계정렬 설계 프로그램 개발)

  • The effects of flexibilities of supporting structures on shaft alignment are growing as ship sizes are Increasing mainly for container carrier and LNG carrier. But, most of classification societies not only do not suggest any quantitative guidelines about the flexibilities but also do not have shaft alignment design program considering the flexibility of supporting structures. A newly developed program, which is based on innovative shaft alignment technologies including nonlinear elastic multi-support bearing concept and hull deflection database approach, has S basic modules : 1)fully automated finite element generation module, 2) hull deflection database and it's mapping module on bearings, 3) squeezing and oil film pressure calculation module, 4) optimization module and 5) gap & sag calculation module. First module can generate finite element model including shafts, bearings, bearing seats, hull and engine housing without any misalignment of nodes. Hull deflection database module has built-in absolute deflection data for various ship types, sizes and loading conditions and imposes the transformed relative deflection data on shafting system. The squeezing of lining material and oil film pressures, which are relatively solved by Hertz contact theory and built-in hydrodynamic engine, can be calculated and visualized by pressure calculation module. One of the most representative capabilities is an optimization module based on both DOE and Hooke-Jeeves algorithm.

Analysis of the O-Ring Deformation Behavior by the Computed Tomography (전산화 단층촬영에 의한 오링 변형 거동 분석)

  • The object of this study is to develop the examination technique for measuring the O-ring deformation behavior under the pressure and the squeezed condition simultaneously. The O-ring deformation measuring device in which two grooves were dug to insert the two O-rings was manufactured to be not deformed under the high pressure and the 1 mm and 0.1 mm gap were designed to measure the extrusion lengths under the internal pressure. The beam hardening correction, the histogram analysis and the dead zone correction were executed to exactly measure the shape of O-ring deformation and the lengths of the O-ring deformation were measured by the LSF and the ERF. The computed tomography applied the pressure of 0, 1.378, 4.902, 9.804, 15.692 MPa at 22.3% squeezed condition and the expanded diameter, contact length and extrusion depth were measured in each pressure. The shape of O-ring deformation was evaluated by the FEM to verify the results of measuring by the computed tomography and the area of O-ring was mutually compared to the area measured by the computed tomography.

A Study on Elastic Shaft Alignment Using Nonlinear Soaring Elements (비선형 베어링 요소를 이용한 탄성 추진 축계정렬에 관한 고찰)

  • The effects of hull flexibility on shaft alignment are growing as ship sizes are increased mainly for container carrier and LNG carrier. In order to consider hull flexibility on a propulsion shafting system, standardization of ship service conditions is necessary because hull deformation is continuously variable according to ship service conditions. How to summarize ship service conditions is suggested based on practically applicable four viewpoints : hull, engine, loading and sea status. Effects of the external forces acting on a ship propulsion shafting system are generally commented. Several design criteria regulated by classification societies are pointed at issue which seems to have Insufficient technical background. A qualitative verification is carried out to point out the invalidity of the assumption of effective supporting position. In this work, an elastic nonlinear multi-supporting bearing system is introduced as a key concept of the elastic shaft alignment. Hertz contact theory is proved to be more proper one than projected area method in calculation of the nonlinear elastic stiffness of the bearing, The squeezing and oil film pressure calculations in the long journal bearing like an after stern tube bearing are recognized as a necessary process for elastic shaft alignment design.
