Overpressure Prevention of Pipeline Attached to Outlet of LPG Vaporizer (온수전열식 기화기 후단 배관내 가스의 이상압력상승 방지방안에 관한 연구)

  • Overpressure in pipeline attached to outlet of LPG vaporizer has been studied to provide countermeasures to prevent it. The cause of liquefaction in pipeline was reviewed using vapor pressure curve with temperature, pressure, and composition to suggest method of controlling such parameters. Performance of vaporizer has been tested to detect defective design of float ball, and then improved scheme was suggested. Trouble of regulator attached to vaporizer was also studied to give countermeasures.

  • 하이드라진 단기액체엔진을 장착하고 궤도에서 임무를 수행하고 있는 다목적실용 위성 추진시스템 궤도비행 초기운용 자료에 근거하여 추진제 소모율을 산정 한다. 추진시스템은 위성의 궤도각과 비행고도 조정을 위한 속도증분($\Delta$V) 및 자세제어를 위한 추력을 발생시킨다. 단기액체 추진시스템에서 추진제 소모량은 추력기 밸브의 개폐시간에 비례하고 추력 생성 효율은 추진제의 연소기 유입압력에 종속한다. 일정질량의 가압 기체 압력에 의해 연료를 공급하는 추진시스템에서 잔류 추진제 량의 감소는 연소기 유입압력의 감소를 유발하고 추진기관의 효율을 저하시키는 요인으로 작용하여 임무말기로 진행함에 따라 동일한 운동량 생성에 보다 많은 연료소모가 이루어진다.(중략)

Adjustment of the Excess Air Ratio for Stabilizing the Draft System in a Large Capacity Coal Fired Power Plant (대형 석탄화력 발전소에서 통풍계통 안정화를 위한 과잉공기비 조정)

  • In this study, I analyzed the effects on stabilizing the draft system, boiler efficiency when changing excess air ratio under 870 MW load limit operation condition in a large capacity coal fired power plant and decided optimum excess air ratio. It is positively necessary to choose adequate excess air ratio for stabilizing draft system because air pre-heater pressure drop and induced draft fan first stall margin are changing when adjusting excess air ratio. This study therefore, measured air pre-heater pressure drop, induced draft fan first stall margin, boiler efficiency, loss and has chosen adequate excess air ratio adjusting excess air ratio from 1.153 to 1.127. So it is recommended that the operation point needs to be changed to 1.127 that is not only to decrease air pre-heater pressure drop and to stabilize draft system and to secure stall margin but also to maintain boiler efficiency to equivalent level.

Experimental Studies on the Aging Characteristics by Service Periods of Regulator Diaphragms at Governor Room of City Gas (도시가스 정압기용 압력조정기 다이어프램의 사용기간에 따른 경년특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Experimental studies have been done to examine the aging characteristics by regulator diaphragms of gas pressure, governor room of city gas. Various testing samples with different service periods were manufactured. The results of SEM observation indicated that the surface and thickness of the samples tested were slightly sensitive to the service periods. It was found that as the service periods increased, the tensile strength of diaphragm samples decreased. For samples over 25 years of service, the strength decreased to approximately 60 % of that of new diaphragms. It was also found that as the service periods increased, the elongation increased.

  • 영광 1호기의 일차계통인 원자로 냉각재 평균온도( $T_{avg}$)를 적정값으로 미세조정하여 운전할 때, 2차계통 주요 운전변수인 주증기압력이 상승하고 터빈출력이 상승함을 발견하여 이에 대한 터빈사이클 열성능 변화를 발전소 전체 열평형 계산에 의해 정량적으로 파악하고, 그 원인을 열역학 2법칙에서의 엔트로피개념을 이용한 유용에너지의 최대값인 엑서지이론을 적용하여 분석하고자하였다. 분석 결과 열평형 계산에서는 전체 열량의 대부분인 63.2%가 복수기에서 손실되는 것으로 나타나는 반면, 열역학 제2법칙의 엑서지를 이용한 분석에서는 비가역손실이 주로 터빈(전체 엑서지의 12.7%)에서 일어나고 그 다음이 복수기(5.7%), 급수가열기(2.1%) 그리고 1,2단 재열기 (1.0%)의 순으로 전체 사이클에서 일어나며, 주증기 압력이 상승할 때 터빈 출력이 상승하는 주원인은 주증기의 유용성(엑서지)이 크게 증가하는 것에 비해 터빈사이클에서의 비가역손실은 적게 증가하기 때문으로 나타났다.다.

  • A safety device with shut-off function was developed for preventing intentional accidents that might happen by separating of cutting hoses connected to pressure regulators used in residential LP gas facility. For the verification of function and field adaptability, the safety device with shut-off function was tested in the state of joining the device to the regulator and a field test was carried out at home. This study shows that, at the inlet pressure of 0.07-1.56 MPa, the device shuts off the gas within the 5m length of hose regardless of the installation condition of the regulator. The shut-off flow rate increases in the order of perpendicular upward, horizontal and perpendicular downward. From the results of the field tests carried out at home for 5 months, there appears no problem using a gas range or a boiler. If the developed shut-off device is commercialized and distributed in the market the intentional accidents occurred by cutting or separating hoses can be prevented remarkably.

  • Opening characteristics of a main oxidizer shut-off valve at different valve inlet pressures have been experimentally investigated. The pilot pressure at the moment of the valve opening increases linearly with increasing the valve inlet pressure and the increased pilot pressure reduces the valve travel time. As the pilot pressure increases at the moment of valve opening, the time to start opening the valve is delayed resulting in increasing the valve opening time. With the increment of the valve inlet pressure, the valve opening time is mainly determined by the time required for the pilot pressure to start opening the valve. Therefore the design of a pilot gas supply system can readily control the valve inlet pressure at the valve opening as well as the amount of oxidizer supplied to a combustion chamber during the engine startup.

A Study on the Strength Safety of a Gas Valve (가스밸브의 강도안전성에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents the FEM analysis results on the strength safety of a gas valve for a LPG cylinder. Based on the FEM analysis, the maximum von Mises stress on the boundary zone between a safety valve and the upper area of the thread is 99.2 MPa for the supplied gas pressure of 3.5 MPa in which the gas valve is fully opened. The maximum von Mises stress of 99.2 MPa is considered as safety value, because that value is lower than the yield stress of a brass material. In this case, the maximum deformation at the upper right part of the pressure regulator is 0.002mm. The maximum deformation zone is not a meaning part of the sealing part such as an O-ring or a diaphragm of a gas valve and a pressure regulator. The proposed hybrid gas valve model in which is integrated with a conventional cut-off valve and a pressure regulator is recommended as a gas leakage free mechanism and minimized compact size for a LPG cylinder.
