Numerical modeling of debris flow in Mt. Umyeon using FLO-2D model (FLO-2D 모형을 이용한 우면산 토석류 수치모델링)

  • 최근 우리나라는 집중호우로 인한 토석류의 발생이 현저하게 증가하고 있으며, 2002년 태풍 루사와 2003년 매미 그리고 2006년 7월 집중호우 등으로 인한 피해의 규모는 여러 조사와 문헌에서도 확인할 수 있다. 2011년 7월, 서울 우면산 일대에서는 집중호우로 인한 토석류가 발생하였으며, 16명의 인명손실을 포함한 큰 피해가 있었다. 우면산 토석류는 십여 개 지역에서 동시다발적으로 발생하였으며, 토석류 발생 유역 특성과 토석류의 유동특성을 분석하기 위한 현장 조사가 진행되었다. 조사한 자료에 따르면 우면산 일대의 일일 강우량은 서초 기상측정소를 기준으로 최대 24시간 누적 324mm 그리고 시간당 최대 68.5mm/hr를 기록하였다. 상업용 소프트웨어인 FLO-2D는 유사농도의 함수로서 점성(viscous)응력, 항복(yield)응력, 난류 및 분산(dispersive) 응력항을 포함하는 2차 유변학(quadratic rheology) 모델을 기본으로 사용하여 이류(mudflow)와 토석류(debris flow)를 모의할 수 있다. FLO-2D는 흐름의 운동량 및 에너지 보존을 고려하여 격자와 시간에 관계없이 유동심도, 속도, 압력을 예측할 수 있으며, 격자 기반의 모델로서 GIS 및 기타 응용 프로그램들과 연동이 쉽다는 장점이 있다. 그러나 하상침식에 의해 유발된 토석류의 체적 증가는 고려 할 수 없으므로 토석류의 전파 및 퇴적영역에서의 토석류 모의에만 사용할 수 있는 단점이 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 FLO-2D 소프트웨어를 이용하여 우면산에서의 토석류 현상을 재현하는 것이다. 우면산 일대에서 발생한 토석류 중 서초구 방배동의 래미안 아파트 부근에서 발생한 토석류에 대하여 수치지도(DEM)와 현장조사를 통해 얻은 지형자료, 해당 지역의 강우량 및 지질 특성 자료 등을 토대로 FLO-2D 모델을 적용하여 토석류의 흐름특성을 검토한다. 토석류 유동 및 퇴적에 대한 가용한 현장관측 자료와의 비교 분석을 통하여 토석류 특성 값을 산정하고, 모델의 적용성을 검증한다.

Deposition of ZnO Thin Films by RF Magnetron Sputtering and Charcaterization of the ZnO thin film SAW filter (RF 마그네트론 스터터링에 의한 ZnO박막증착 및 SAW 필터 특성 분석)

  • Piezoelectric ZnO thin films were deposited on 7059 glass substrate by rf magnetron sputtering. The effects of deposition parameter, such as rf power, gas pressure and $O_{2}$/Ar gas ratio, on the crystallinity and electrical properties of the deposited ZnO thin films were studied. It was found that the deposition rate was higher than the previously reported values. ZnO films were suitable for SAW filter since a standard deviation of XRD (002) peak rocking curve was less than $6^{\circ}$. ZnO thin films, which were deposited at $O_{2}$/Ar ratio larger than 25%, showed high resistance. SAW filter was fabricated using ZnO film, of which thickness was 0.25 of the wavelength of the propatating surface acoustic wave. The measured frequency response was consistent with the calculated one. The SAW filter had center frequency 39.08 MHz, phase velocity 2501 m/sec and insertion loss 29 dB.

Design and Performance Estimation of Heat Regenerator for Small-scale Regenerative Radiant Tube Burner (열처리로용 소형 축열식 복사관 버너의 축열기 설계 기술평가)

  • Heat regenerator attached in small-scale regenerative radiant tube burner was designed using the theoretical computation code and was confirmed the performance of waste heat recovery ratio. From the computation, when ceramic ball of 4-5kg was used, temperature efficiency and available waste heat recovery ratio were predicted 80% and 70%, respectively. Similar efficiencies were obtained from the experiments using LPG. However, since exhaust gas temperature entered into regenerator was below 850$^{\circ}C$ which was moth lower than that we expected. air preheating temperature was lowered below 800$^{\circ}C$.

A Study on the Surface Roughness of Corroded Reinforcing Rebar (부식된 철근의 표면 거칠기에 관한 연구)

  • This paper discusses the surface roughness of corroded reinforcement rebar in reinforced concrete structures focusing on the quantitative measurement technique for rebar corrosion. Reinforcement rebar was corroded using accelerated corrosion induced method and corrosion rates were 0%, 1%, 2%, 3%, 5%, and 10% of mass losses. Using 3-dimensional scanner each surface profile of reinforcement rebar was established, and surface roughness was measured. Through tests and analyses of corroded reinforcement rebar, the following topics were particularly discussed: measurement of surface roughness, relationship between area and surface roughness, relationship between surface roughness and bond performance. As a result, surface roughness of corroded rebar was found to be very effective to bond strength until 2% of corrosion rate. It was also discussed how to relate surface roughness of corroded rebar to bond strength of reinforced concrete structures.

  • 생활의 편의를 위하여 인간은 여러 종류의 시설을 만들고 있으며, 이에 필요한 전기를 공급하기 위하여 여러 종류의 발전소를 건설 운영하고 있다. 특히, 원자력 발전은 2014년을 기준으로 전체 전력생산량의 약 30%를 담당하고 있으며, 늘어나는 전력 수요를 감당하기 위하여 다수의 원자력 발전소 건설계획을 수립하고 있다. 원자력 발전소는 발전과정에서 생성되는 고열을 냉각시키기 위하여 다량의 물을 필요로 하기 때문에 연안에 위치한다. 물을 안정적으로 취수하는 것은 원자력 발전소의 안정성 확보에 큰 영향을 미치는 요소이다. 하지만, 유류 등의 오염 물질 또는 해파리 등의 생물체에 의하여 취수구가 마비되어 냉각수를 공급하지 못하는 사고가 종종 발생하고 있다. 원자력 발전소가 발전 중단이 되면 하루 약 10억원의 경제적 손실이 발생할 수 있고, 동일본 대지진의 예에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이 2차 피해가 발생하여 엄청난 재앙을 초래할 수 있다. 취수구로 유입되는 유류 등의 오염물질과 생물체를 차단하기 위하여 물리적인 방법과 생물학적 방법을 이용한 여러 가지 장치 및 기법이 고안되고 있지만, 생물학적인 방법은 개체군과 종류의 변화로 그 적용이 곤란하여 물리학적인 방법을 이용한 연구가 주를 이루고 있다. 대표적인 물리학적 장치는 해파리 제거용 그물이 있으나, 포집되는 해파리의 지속적인 제거를 위한 비용적인 문제와, 잠수부의 안전 문제가 발생하고 있다. 이와 같은 문제를 해결하기 위해서 최근 가장 주목받고 있는 방법은 에어버블을 이용하여, 유해 물질과 생물체를 차단하는 방법이다. 에어버블은 수심조건에 영향을 받지 않고, 취수구가 설치된 영역으로 유해물질의 유입 자체를 방어할 수 있어 몇 몇 선진국에서는 실용화 단계에 접어들고 있다. 본 연구에서는 에어버블 거동을 특성을 파악하기 위해서는 에어버블의 상승속도, 특성, 압력 및 수심조건 등을 고려할 수 있는 실험 장치를 개발하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위하여 선행연구결과 및 현장조건을 고려하여, 취급이 간단하고, 실험조건 조절이 용이한 원통형 실험 장치를 개발하였다.

CFD Simulation of Non-reacting and Reacting Flows for a Gas Turbine Combustor Firing Biogas (바이오 가스터빈 연소기의 비반응장과 반응장의 3차원 유동해석)

  • Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co., Ltd. has been recently developing the gas turbine engine using the biogas as fuel. This paper describes the non-reacting and reacting flow analysis of the combustor which is one of the main components in gas turbine engine. Through CFD analysis, investigation has been performed to evaluate the primary factors for aerodynamic design and to predict combustor behaviors during operation with various fuel distribution ratios. The calculation results are compared with rig test data, which reveals that CFD predictions such as pressure loss, air distribution ratio, and recirculation flow are quite reliable. The trend of NO formation was similar with the test, except the low fuel distribution ratio.

Design Technique for Durability Improvement of Military Vehicle Wheel (군용차량 휠 조립체 내구성 향상 방법론 연구)

  • Military vehicles use run-flat wheels for emergency situations. Run-flat wheels can run required distance in a defined duration with the pressure loss tire. For the application of a run-flat system, wheels are designed in 2 pieces, including an inner rim and outer rim. These rims are assembled using clamping bolts. Clamping bolts determine the durability of military vehicle wheels because fracture of clamping bolts account for most wheel failures. For improving wheel durability, clamping bolt durability must be improved. In this study, wheel test conditions and bolt design were investigated. Existing test standards are not sufficient to conduct endurance tests. Supplementary conditions were investigated. Using these modified test conditions, the durability of wheels including clamping bolts was tested and verified. Results found the durability of wheels improved more than 168%. This study also proposes improvements in the design process of clamping bolts.

Numerical Study on Heat Transfer and Flow Characteristics of Pin Fin with Swept Airfoil Shape Vortex Generator (후퇴익형 형상의 와류발생기가 있는 핀휜 유동의 전열 및 유동 특성 분석에 관한 수치적 연구)

  • In this study, pin-fin arrays, which are widely used for cooling turbine blades, were studied. The vortex generator in pin-fin arrays is located in front of the circular tube. The cross-section of the vortex generator is NACA-9410. The purpose of this study is to analyze heat transfer performance and flow characteristics of pin-fin arrays. The position of vortex generator is changed with the vertical flow direction on the bottom wall. Pin-fin arrays were calculated with 6000, 10000 and 15000 Reynolds number. The commercial program ANSYS v18.0 CFX and the turbulence model $k-{\omega}$ SST were used. As a result, the heat transfer performance increased up to 5.8% and pressure loss increased less than 1%.

Characteristics of Wave on Circular Breakwater of Double Array by Various Porous Coefficients among Circular Caissons (원형케이슨들간의 공극률 변화에 따른 2열 배치 원형방파제에 작용하는 파랑 특성 분석)

  • In order to increase the stability of existing breakwater, new caissons are installed on the back or the front of existing caissons. It is very important to evaluate wave force and wave run-up according to the change of porosity among caissons and the energy loss due to separation effects. In this study, we use the eigenfunction expansion method with Darcy's law, which describes the flow of a fluid through a porous plate, to analyze the characteristics of wave on circular breakwater of double array for various porous coefficients. To verify the numerical method, the comparison between present results and Sankarbabu et al. (2008) is made. The wave force and the wave run-up acting on each dual cylindrical caisson are calculated for various parameters by considering the energy loss and the change of porosity.

Temperature Variation of Exhaust Gas in Diesel Generator for Low Pressure SCR (저압 SCR을 위한 디젤발전기 배기가스 온도 변화)

  • To facilitate low-pressure selective catalyst reduction (L.P SCR), a high exhaust-gas temperature of a four-stroke diesel engine for a ship's generator is required. This study aimed at reducing the exhaust-gas temperature by adjusting the valve open-close timing and fuel injection timing to satisfy the operating conditions of L.P SCR and prevent accidents associated with the generator engine due to high temperature. To lower exhaust-gas temperature, the angle of the camshaft was adjusted and the shim of the fuel injection pump was added. As a result, the maximum explosion pressure increased and the average of the turbocharger outlet temperature dropped. Considering the heat loss from the turbocharger outlet to the SCR inlet, the operation condition for L.P SCR was satisfied with 290 ℃. The study demonstrates that safe operation of a diesel generator can be achieved by lowering the exhaust-gas temperature.
