Development and Validations of Air Data System using MEMS Sensor for High-Performance UAV (MEMS 압력센서를 이용한 고성능 무인항공기용 공력자료시스템의 개발과 검증)

  • The air data system(ADS) was developed for unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) in this paper. Generally, the ADS helps flight control computer(FCC) to control the UAV above the stall speed and to hold the given altitude. The accurate measurement of airspeed and altitude of UAV is important because it indicates a flight performance and assures a safe flight. The ADS consists of MEMS pressure sensors, a lowpass filter, a micro controller unit and a pitot-tube. The ADS errors were reduced by pressure and temperature compensation of MEMS sensors. Finally, the altitude and airspeed data of the ADS was compared with GPS data in the flight test.

  • 우주공간의 압력은 일반적으로 지구로부터의 고도와 대수 관계에 있으며 위성이 비행하는 궤도는 $10^{-6}$-$10^{-11}$torr의 초진공 상태에 가깝고 고도 수십 km까지는 희박기체의 압력으로 볼 수 있으나 그 이상의 고도에서는 기체 분자가 거의 이온이 되어 대단히 고속의 이온 흐름 상태를 유지하고 있다. 우주용 추진기관 개발에 있어서 이와 같은 초고진공에 해당하는 압력을 구현하지 않으면 않되는 시험 이외에도 비교적 고도가 낮은 공간의 SIMULATION에도 중요한 분야이다.

Thrust Characteristics of Through-type Pintle Nozzle at Operating Altitudes Conditions (작동 고도에 따른 관통형 핀틀 노즐의 추력 특성 연구)

  • Numerical simulations have been performed to investigate thrust characteristics of a through-type pintle nozzle with or without flow separation at various operating altitudes. The low Reynolds number $k-{\varepsilon}$ with compressibility correction proposed by Sarkar are applied. The detail flow structures are observed and static pressures along nozzle wall are compared with experimental results. The flow separation in the pintle nozzle disappears and jet plume strongly expands as its operating altitude increases. To evaluate the thrust characteristics, the momentum term and pressure term of thrust are analyzed. Thrust and thrust coefficient at altitude 20 km are about 10% more than them at the ground 0km.

Study on Static Pressure Error Model for Pressure Altitude Correction (기압 고도의 정밀도 향상을 위한 정압 오차 모델에 관한 연구)

  • In GPS/INS/barometer navigation system for UAV, vertical channel damping loop was introduced to suppress divergence of the vertical axis error of INS, which could be reduced to the level of accuracy of pressure altitude measured by a pitot-static tube. Because static pressure measured by the pitot-static tube depends on the speed and attitude of the vehicle, static pressure error models, based on aerodynamic data from wind tunnel test, CFD analysis, and flight test, were applied to reduce the error of pressure altitude. Through flight tests and sensitivity analyses, the error model using the ratio of differential pressure and static pressure turned out to be superior to the model using only differential pressure, especially in case of high altitude flight. Both models were proposed to compensate the effect of vehicle speed change and used differential and static pressure which could be obtained directly from the output of pressure transducer.

  • Barometers have been used to calculate altitude, and with the development of technology, barometer which had a large volume have now been reduced to about centimeter-level. The altitude calculation using barometer is proceeded using the relationship between reference sea level pressure and the pressure obtained by barometer, and for this, pre-calibration of the barometer is essential. In addition, the barometer has a certain level of bias from actual pressure due to production, and many smartphone manufacturers correct it during the manufacturing process, but it is difficult to correct errors caused by environmental variables. In this paper, we extended methodology of correcting barometer using static reference station to moving drone, and it was possible to calculate the altitude more accurately.

  • 산불 진화에 사용되는 지상 주력 장비를 대상으로 수원으로부터 호스 거리 및 고도에 따른 성능을 정량화하기 위한 현장 적용 실험을 실시하였다. 대조군으로는 담수지 형태의 수원을 사용하고 수원으로부터 고도차가 40m 수준인 예비실험을 대상으로 성능값을 비교하였다. 본 현장 적용 실험에서는 산림 내 계곡지를 수원으로 하였으며, 고도차가 150m 로 예비실험의 3.75배인 지형을 선택하였다. 고도에 따른 영향이 크지 않은 예비 실험과 비교하였을 때 고도가 높아질수록 동일 거리에서 측정한 성능값은 평균 50% 이상의 감소를 나타내었다. 그러나 수평 및 수직 거리는 20% 이내 수준의 감소를 나타내어 진화에 큰 장애 요소로는 작용하지 않았으며, 펌프압력은 소형펌프의 압력 상승이 가장 큰 상승률을 나타내었다. 이와 같은 결과는 수원의 형태에 따라 용수 공급차에 기인한 것으로 안정적 용수공급 저하, 펌핑압 부하 증가, 이물질 삽입 등이 원인인 것으로 사료되며, 고도에 따른 영향 인자도 반영된 것으로 해석된다. 또한 실험을 통해 진화장비별 실제 진화대원의 적정 사용거리와 거리별 적정 소요인원을 산출할 수 있었다.

  • 인공위성 및 우주발사체가 해당 궤도 및 고도에서 정상적으로 기능을 수행할 수 있는지 확인하기 위해 진공챔버 내부에 시험 대상을 설치하고 내부 압력을 낮추어 해당 궤도와 고도를 모사하게 된다. 반복적인 진공 시험을 수행하다 보면, 진공 챔버 내에 인지하지 못한 수분이 잔류하는 경우가 발생하는데, 이 때의 챔버 내부 압력 변화는 수분이 존재하지 않는 경우와는 매우 다른 양상을 보인다. 본 연구에서는 진공챔버 내부에 수분이 존재하는 경우를 모사하여, 포화증기압에서 액체의 잠열 이상으로 외부로부터 열을 받는 구간과 그렇지 못한 경우에 대한 현상을 살펴보고 이에 따른 챔버 내부 압력 변화에 대해 고찰하였다.

Altitude Estimation Improvement in DGPS using Barometric Altitude Sensors (기압 고도계를 이용한 DGPS 고도측정 향상)

  • DGPS provides less altitude accuracy than horizontal accuracy according to geometric characteristics of GPS satellite arrangement. To assist DGPS altitude measurements, two barometric altitude sensors were used and set up at the mobile and the reference station respectively to get the differential altitude. This differential altitude is coupled with the DGPS altitude measurement by a Kalman filter so that the improved altitude is estimated. The differential altitude is based on the relative altitude measurement but results in providing the absolute altitude. The precision of this differential altitude is verified by experiments in accordance with a baseline length.

Numerical Study on Thrust Characteristics of an E-D Nozzle for Altitude Compensation (고도 보정용 E-D 노즐의 추력 특성에 대한 수치해석 연구)

  • A study on the effect of altitude-compensation and the possibility of throttling is performed by designing an E-D nozzle that is a type of altitude-compensation nozzles. In order to examine the effect of the altitude-compensation, a CFD analysis is conducted by using three kinds (sea level, altitude at 10 km and 16 km) of the atmosphere condition while maintaining the chamber pressure. Results show that the effective nozzle exit area is also gradually increased when the altitude get increased. Understanding the possibility of throttling, a CFD analysis is conducted by moving the location of the pintle. Just as same as a general pintle thruster, the chamber pressure and thrust are increased when the nozzle throat area get decreased.

Effects of Innovation and Peer Pressure on Color Make-up Behaviors of Middle and High School Students (여중고생의 혁신과 또래압력이 색조화장행동에 미치는 영향)

  • Due to the nature of teenage students' common tendency of being drawn to consumption conformity engendered by popular trends, and further expanding their unique collectivist culture, this study presumes that middle and high school female students as well have an influential factor that creates their distinctive trait. This study is intended to investigate the students' personal characteristics and effects of social reference groups, and further scrutinize how these influences transcends to deviant make-up behaviors. A total of 297 subjects, middle and high school female students, participated in a survey, using questionnaires focused primarily on the degrees of color makeup and the influences imposed by classmates. The findings of the study are as follows. First, regarding makeup behavior displayed by middle and high school female students, social self-esteem had positive influence on innovation and peer pressure. Second, perceived visibility conversely had negative impacts on innovation and peer pressure. This indicates that if perceived visibility is at a salient level, this already signifies lack of innovation. Third, makeup innovation and peer pressure demonstrated by middle and high school students all showed positive influence on their makeup behaviors. Additionally, peer pressure, in comparison to innovation, had greater influence on makeup behaviors, which indicates that peer pressure play a great role in makeup behavior of middle and high school students. Fourth, makeup behaviors showed strong impacts on makeup satisfaction and rendering deviant behaviors, which indicates that a new direction and perspective regarding middle and high school students' makeup behavior is critical.
