Stabilization Design of Large Rotating Stand Using Sliding Mode Control (슬라이딩모드 제어 기법을 이용한 대형 구동기 안정화 설계)

  • In this paper, a stabilized control algorithm for the large rotating stand of a long-range surveillance radar (LRSR) system is introduced. The stabilized control algorithm for this large rotating stand system was designed using mathematical plant modeling. The LRSR system is located on high ground and has a wide surface, making it susceptible to the effects of wind, which increases the bearing friction and reduces the stability of the rotating stand. The disturbance caused by the wind was analyzed using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in this study. The results of the CFD analysis were used to construct a control algorithm for the disturbance . The performance of the proposed control algorithm was demonstrated experimentally and through simulations. The plant model and the control algorithm were constructed in Matlab/Simulink.

Numerical Investigation of Complex System for Electrical Energy Harvesting and Vibration Isolation (미소진동 발생원으로부터의 전기에너지 재생 및 진동절연을 위한 복합 시스템의 해석적 검토)

  • Fly-wheel, gimbal antenna, mechanical gyro and cryocooler with moving parts generate a micro-vibration during their on-orbit operation. For the acquisition of high quality image of observation satellite, additional technical efforts are required to reduce the micro-vibration level from the vibration sources. In this study, we proposed a passive isolation system combined with a tuned mass damper-type energy harvester to generate electrical energy from the micro-vibration which has always been subjected to useless isolation objectives. The feasibility of the system has been investigated through the numerical simulation.

High-Performance Bidirectional Active Phased-Array Antenna Coupled by Transmission Line (선로결합에 의한 쌍방향 능동 위상차 배열 안테나의 동작특성 향상)

  • In order to increase the coupling efficiency of the power and phase of the active phase array antenna, we have fabricated the active phased-array antenna which is coupled by the transmission line, and investigated the relationship between the length of the coupling transmission line and coupling power and phase. The following three types of driving method - (1) giving the frequency difference between the two active antenna, (2) applying the input signal to the one side of the two antennas, and changing the eigen frequency of the other side antenna, (3) appling the different phase inputs to the active antennas was investigated. The experimental results showed that the interval of the antenna elements has not affected the power and the phase of the antenna.

WDM Optical True Time-Delay for X-Band Phased Array Antennas (X-밴드 위상 배열 안테나를 위한 WDM 광 실시간 지연선로)

  • In this paper, we propose a WDM optical true time-delay (OTTD) beam former for phased way antenna (PAA) systems. It is composed of a delay lines matrix and a multiwavelength source with discrete DFB laser diodes. The building block of a delay lines matrix is a $2\times2$ optical MEMS switch with proper fiber-optic delay line connected between cross ports. A $4\times3$ matrix using four DFB lasers has been fabricated with unit time-delay difference of 12 ps. Maximum time-delay error was measured to be -1.74 ps and +1.14 ps at a radiation angle of $46.05^{\circ}$, corresponding to error range of $-2.87^{\circ}\sim+1.88^{\circ}$. By measuring time-delays at six different RF frequencies from 5- to 10-GHz, we verified the true time-delay characteristic of our OTTD.

고속파 전자가열을 시도한 KSTAR 토카막 원형 플라즈마에서의 ICRF 고주파 부하 저항

  • KSTAR 토카막의 두번째 실험 캠페인 동안 고속파 전자가열 (FWEH)을 위한 ICRF 고주파입사 실험을 실시하였다. 토로이달 자기장은 2 T, 플라즈마 전류는 200-300 kA, 주반경은 1.8 m, 부반경은 0.5 m의 원형 플라즈마가 가열 대상이 되었으며, 네개의 ICRF 안테나 전류띠 가운데 중심부의 두개의 전류띠를 최대 300 kW로 구동하기 위한 운전 주파수는 44.2 MHz가 선택 되었다. 이 주파수는 플라즈마의 모든 영역에서 이온 사이클로트론 공명을 일으키지 않으므로 플라즈마에 흡수되는 대부분의 출력은 전자에게 전달될 것으로 기대되었다. 낮은 고주파-플라즈마 결합으로 인하여 전송선의 최대 고주파 전압이 허용치를 초과하기 때문에 비교적 낮은 최대 출력만이 허용 되었으나, ECE에 의해 관측된 전자의 온도는 국지적으로 최대 150 % 까지 증가하는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 낮은 고주파-플라즈마 결합의 첫번째 원인은 FWEH의 효율이 이온을 가열할 때 보다 상대적으로 낮기 때문이다. 플라즈마 내에 이온 사이클로트론 공명층이 형성되면 높은 효율로 고주파를 입사 할 수 있다는 것은 잘 알려진 사실이다. 또다른 원인은 D 형상의 플라즈마에 맞도록 만들어진 안테나와, 원형 플라즈마간의 부조화로 인하여 고속파 차단층이 (Fast Wave Cutt-off Layer) 평균적으로 넓게 형성되기 때문이다. 플라즈마 외곽에 반드시 존재하는 낮은 플라즈마 밀도의 고속파 차단층 내부에서, 중심부로 향하는 고주파의 진폭은 지수함수로 감쇠하므로 가능하면 플라즈마 밀도를 높여 차단층 자체의 폭을 줄이거나, 안테나 전류띠를 플라즈마에 바짝 접근시켜야만 한다. 고주파 진단 장치로는 송출기의 출력과 반사파 측정 장치, 공명루프의 전압 측정 장치가 있는데, 이것들을 이용하여 안테나에 전달되는 출력 및 고주파-플라즈마 결합 효율을 나타내는 플라즈마에 대한 고주파 부하 저항을 구할 수 있다. 측정 결과, 부하 저항의 최소값은 진공시 또는 ICRF만의 방전시의 값 0.25 Ohm 보다 큰 0.5 Ohm을 나타냈으며, 최대값은 플라즈마의 상태에 따라 1 Ohm에서 2 Ohm 사이에서 매우 빠르게 요동하는 것을 확인했다. Mm 파 반사계의 측정에 의하면 플라즈마 언저리의 위치가 약 3 cm 정도의 크기로 요동하는 것으로 나타났는데, 부하 저항과 언저리 위치의 파형이 정확하게 일치하지 않지만 유사한 경향성을 가진 것으로 보인다. 따라서 플라즈마 언저리 위치의 제어를 통하여 가열 효율을 높게 유지할 수 있음을 알 수 있다. 본 발표에서는 실험의 소개와 함께 부하 저항의 관점에서 가열 효율을 높일 방안을 토론하도록 한다.

Estimating Fatigue Life of APD Electronic Equipment for Activation of a Spaceborne X-band 2-axis Antenna (2축 짐벌식 X-band 안테나 구동용 전장품 APD 제어보드의 피로수명 평가)

  • While a satellite is carried into orbit by a launch vehicle, it is exposed to the severe launch environment with random vibrations and shock. Accordingly, these vibration sources affect electronic equipment, particularly the printed circuit board (PCB) in the satellite. When the launch load impacts the PCB, it causes negative behavior. This causes perpendicular bending around the boundary of fixation points that finally leads to the failure of solder joints, lead wires, and PCB cracks. To overcome these issues, the electronic equipment design must meet reliability requirements. In this paper, Steinberg's method is used to derive allowable and maximum deflection to verify design from a life perspective concerning the control board of the Antenna Pointing Driver (APD) mounted on KOMPSAT-3.

  • Recently, as the tactical environment has changedto one of network-centric warfare, where all components are connected through a network, much emphasis has been placed on the use of an artificial satellite for achieving high communication speeds. To provide a high-quality artificial satellite link, stabilization is very important in a platform. Previous stabilization control techniques used PI control, which is commonly used for vessels. However, for ground terminals that require a higher communication speed, the antenna should move faster to track an artificial satellite within a short period of time. Moreover, the terminals must be equipped with proper sensors and algorithms so that they can detect and compensate for external disturbances while tracking the artificial satellite. In this study, through the analysis of the dynamic model of an antenna system, a stabilization algorithm for ground terminals was proposed;this algorithm shows high isolation performance in the low-frequency range and includes $PI^2$ control.

Study on Gravitational Torque Estimation and Compensation in Electrically Driven Satellite Antenna System (전기식으로 구동하는 위성안테나 시스템의 중력토크 추정 및 보상에 관한 연구)

  • The weight of an antenna system pointing satellite on the mobile platform is restricted by the weight limit of the mobile platform. The maximum power of the actuator driving the antenna system is thus limited because a high power actuator needs a heavier weight. Thus, a drive system is designed to have a low torque requirement by reducing the gravitational torque depending on gravity or acceleration of the mobile platform, including vibration, shock, and accelerated motion. To reduce the gravitational torque, the mathematical model of the gravitational torque is preferentially obtained. However, the method to directly estimate the mathematical model in an antenna system has not previously been reported. In this paper, a method is proposed to estimate the gravitational torque as a mathematical model in the antenna system. Additionally, a method is also proposed to calculate the optimal weight of the balancing weight to compensate for the gravitational torque.

  • 진공장비 내에서 사용되는 베어링에 있어서 그리이스나 오일은 중기압이 높아 장치내 진공도 저하뿐 아니라 처리되는 부품에 오염을 초래하게 되므로 많은 경우 진공 환경용 베어링은 전동면 또는 마찰면에 마찰계수가 매우 낮은 박막을 형성시켜 윤활을 실현한다. 진공용 베어링이 사용되는 곳은 인공위성의 안테나, 태양전지 전개 기구 및 회전부 등 우주항공 분야를 비롯하여, 상업적으로는 X-ray 발생장치, 반도체 등 전자소재 제조 장치의 구동부 및 각종 진공 증착 장치 등에 널리 사용되고 있다. 이러한 진공용 베어링은 일반 베어링의 수 천배에 달하는 고가로 그간 전량 수입에 의존하여 왔으며 근래에는 국내 전자 산업의 발전과 더불어 그 수요가 폭발적으로 증가하여 수입 비용의 부담도 크게 늘고 있다. 당사에서는 진공에서의 각종 요구특성에 대응한 베어링으로 연질금속계(Ag. Au, Pb) 황하물계(Mos2), 폴리머계(PTFE) 의 윤활 막을 코팅한 진공용 베어링을 개발하여 공급능력을 갖추었기에 이의 특징 및 용도를 소개하고자 한다.

  • Microstrip line on dielectric substrate depending on the type of its configuration can be applied to be antenna, communication filters, and resonators. When driving frequency is considered more than X-band, unnecessary signal leakage should be occurred because of flowing through the planar circuit at banding position. So leakage signal will affect other planar circuit, and then EMC problem has to be introduced. In this paper, the affection of banding planar circuit on dielectric substrate was investigated.
