Process safety management(PSM) system was implemented in Korea since 1996. It helps reduce and prevent the occurrence of chemical accidents. There has been no review on the feasibility of the threshold quantities of the existing 21 species and the newly added toxic substances such as hydrogen bromide in the PSM system. The threshold quantities of the target toxic substances(25 species) of PSM were compared with domestic and foreign PSM systems similar to those of Korea. Also, we proposed the toxic harmfulness and hazard equation consisted of inhalation toxicity, NFPA index and others. According to this equation, high risk, medium risk and low risk are classified and reflected in the adjustment of threshold quantities. From the above research, It is expected to help to reduce confusion and burden of the workplaces due to the difference from other PSM system and improve in the threshold quantities.

Visual evaluation of chest radiograph images is the most practical and effective method. This study compared the Body Mass Index, waist circumference, and mAs with chest radiographs of 351 women. The Bureau of Radiological Health method was used to evaluate the image quality of chest X-ray images by anatomical and physical methods. The average age of the subjects was $30.17{\pm}4.73$ and the average waist circumference was $66.91{\pm}4.67cm$. The mean Body Mass Index value was $20.21{\pm}2.23$, the mean value of mAs was $3.04{\pm}0.78$, and the mean value of Bureau of Radiological Health was $79.83{\pm}8.45$. When the Body Mass Index value increased, waist circumference and mAs mean value increased. The mean value of Body Mass Index was statistically significant(p<0.05) in Group 4 compared to Groups 1 and 2, with increasing Body Mass Index. Exposure control of the automatic exposure control system is considered to be well performed according to body thickness or Body Mass Index at the time of chest radiography. As the Body Mass Index increases, the thickness of the body increases and the breast thickness of the woman also increases. Therefore, it is considered that the exposure amount is changed by the automatic exposure control device to affect the image quality.

Despite the trend of decreasing accidents, falling accidents in the construction industry have not decreased and are even rising. Most major accidents are falling accidents caused by hanging scaffolding and are mostly serious. We conducted a review of the literature, institutions, and regulations, which showed that domestic standards are not unified because they are drawn up by referring to overseas standards for hanging scaffolding. New regulations or standards should be established, which should reflect the safety plans for equipment, work advance plans, education, and management. If facility improvement plan for Hanging Scaffolding and implementation of revision of the current work use, regulations and guides are implemented, it will be recognized in advance of the causes of the accident statistics and the classification system and will be the basis for the implementation of joint efforts by workers, managers, supervisors and owners to reduce accidents.

This paper defines the Safety Management System (SMS) based on the rail safety act and surveys the status of the English rail SMS and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) SMS and OHSAS18001 SMS. Through the analysis of the domestic rail operators' safety management regulations and the results of the universal rail safety audit, the status and problems of domestic rail operators' SMS are investigated and the improvement scheme are derived. First, to establish the continual improvement system for SMS, the instruction which describe the detailed continual improvement method for each steps of SMS including management review by CEO shall be established. Second, to settle the risk management based SMS, converting the rail operators mind and establishing the supply system of safety risk operating model and basic data for the risk analysis and safety evaluation and including the precise requirement for the risk management in the related instruction should be conducted.

Regulation of Escape and fire-prevention of Building of South Korea were enacted as a part of building codes in 1962. Since it was enacted, the law has gone through many changes. In this study, evaluated the fire safety of the law about the case of a hotel that the fire risk are expected to be higher whenever it was changed. As a result, the current law has gotten better in tire safety since it was enacted. However, especially it could be confirmed that the evacuation safety is insufficient in the lower level of hotel building. In the case of accommodation, because the occupants become aware of fire lately, they have not enough time to escape. Therefore, this study suggests that it is needed to come up with an effective counterplan about the interior finish materials, fire door and fire compartments that the smoke layer descending time is longer.

식품의약품안전청은 수입식품등 검사지침(식품의약품안전청 고시 제2007-42호, 2007. 6. 27)과 수입건강기능 식품 신고 및 검사세부처리규정(식품의약품안전청 고시 제2007-43호, 2007. 6. 27)을 발표했다. 관련내용은 판매를 목적으로 하거나 영업상 사용하기 위해 수입하는 식품, 식품첨가물, 기구 및 용기포장의 검사에 관한 세부지침과 수입건강기능식품의 신고 및 검사에 관한 세부처리규정을 정해 검사업무의 형평성, 공정성, 신속성, 효율성을 위해 개정고시하였다. 본란에서는 관련 고시내용 전문을 게재함으로서 식품제조업체 및 식품등수입 판매업자등의 이해를 돕고자 한다.
