Assessment of Energy Efficiency and Nutrient Balance in Organic Rice Farming Area (벼유기농업단지 에너지효율 및 양분수지 평가)

  • Energy efficiency and nutrient balance are good methods for environmental assessment of the environmentally-friendly agriculture. The objectives of this study were 1) to estimate the energy efficiency and nutrient balance of the organic rice farming, and 2) to suggest a solution to improvement the energy efficiency and nutrient balance. The set of estimation was performed at the organic rice farming area (8.9 ha) in Wanju-gun during the paddy cultivation period from 2006 to 2007. The organic farming complex consists of four weeding methods using 1) duck, 2) apple snail, 3) duck and apple snail and 4) hands and machinery. Results from this estimation should that the organic rice farming area was less efficient than conventional rice farming. The efficiency of organic farming area in 2006 was higher than in 2007. For the calculation of the nutrient balance, the N, P and K contents of input materials (cattle manure, milk vetch, mixed oilcake, rice bran, rice straw and barley straw) and output (farm products) were analysed. Annual environmental loads of N, $P_2O_5$ and $K_2O$ were estimated at 4.4 kg/10a, 13.8 kg/10a and 14.5 kg/10a, respectively. Cattle manure had the largest portion among the inputs items and nutrient concentration of cattle manure was high. Thus energy efficiency and nutrient balance depend on cattle manure input. Therefore it is necessary to control the manure input to improve the efficiency of organic rice farming.

  • It is a trend to increase safekeeping properties in financial company as the world economy situation has been globalized and advanced. The development of a securable vault door resisting to malicious trespass is needed. Therefore, this study focuses on developing high performance concrete placed at the inside of the vault door, and all materials used in this study is easy to obtain in domestic considering economic competitiveness. The compressive strength over 170 MPa was targeted, and structurally strengthening was also planned in order to resist to over $3,000^{\circ}C$ heating by torch and extreme impact loading by hammer drilling machine. Several types of fibers and reinforcing structures were used in order to resist those external heating and loading. This purpose was required to satisfy UL 608 standard of a vault door. Consequently, the result from this study is expected to be applied to construction field of major facilities, which should guarantee the safety from an external attack such as terror.

A study on the vulnerability of integrity verification functions of android-based smartphone banking applications (안드로이드 스마트폰 뱅킹 앱 무결성 검증 기능의 취약점 연구)

  • In recent years, the malicious apps with malicious code in normal apps are increasingly redistributed in Android market, which may incur various problems such as the leakage of authentication information and transaction information and fraudulent transactions when banking apps to process the financial transactions are exposed to such attacks. Thus the financial authorities established the laws and regulations as an countermeasures against those problems and domestic banks provide the integrity verification functions in their banking apps, yet its reliability has not been verified because the studies of the safety of the corresponding functions have seldom been conducted. Thus this study suggests the vulnerabilities of the integrity verification functions of banking apps by using Android reverse engineering analysis techniques. In case the suggested vulnerabilities are exploited, the integrity verification functions of banking apps are likely to be bypassed, which will facilitate malicious code inserting attacks through repackaging and its risk is very high as proved in a test of this study. Furthermore this study suggests the specific solutions to those vulnerabilities, which will contribute to improving the security level of smartphone financial transaction environment against the application forgery attacks.

  • Ship Standard Network was submitted as a common subject of e-navigation by 81th IMO MSC 2005. This agenda was given an official status with strategy planning of e-navigation for Ship Standard Network after approval of WG program of 81th MSC 2006. Nowadays approximately 400 heterogeneous navigation and communication equipments are working on ships at sea. Standardization of ship network is to support exchanging various data efficiently. Among them, 4S network is defined as a wireless communication network between ship to ship and ship to shore which provides unceasing communication channel ship to shore. It has been expected to trigger various services and applications based on 4S network. However, no technologies and products has been appeared at fields yet. but now there's not specific technologies and developing products. In this paper, We developed a 4S multiple media switching server and a ship-land information exchange system to overcome the heterogeneity and provide efficient communication environments.. The performance of the implemented system was verified by TTA(Telecommunications Technology Association) V&V(Verification and Validation).

  • In this paper, we describe the performance results of the field installation test which is required to practicalize the single-phase MJ81 Switch Point Machine. This product has passed the certified test through performance improvement of driving parts in order to use 3 phase MJ81 Switch Point Machine, which is localized by taking over technology from Alstom and Cogifer when constructing Seoul-Busan rapid-transit railway, without change of the electrical equipment at track-side in domestic existing lines which single-phase 220V is used. KRRI and Samsung SDS have localized the single-phase MJ81 Switch Point Machine to improve the speed and safety of the conventional lines through the existing railway technology development project. For practicalization of this, we should, however, verify the performance through not only field installation test in real lines but also interface test with the interlocking. In this paper we verify the practicality of the domestic single-phase MJ81 Switch Point Machine through analysis on the performance result of the field installation test as well as the research contents for this test. Thereby, in Feb 2009 we have received an order from the Korea Rail Network Authority and are currently installing the single-phase MJ81 Switch Point Machine.

  • In this paper, we carried out the basic design of 36 MTD natural gas BOG re-liquefaction system to recover the generated natural gas during performance test of LNG pump and natural gas compressor. The re-liquefaction process of natural gas is designed to have 1500 kg/h of liquefaction rate with reverse Brayton refrigeration cycle. With the designed process, the variation of liquefaction rate is calculated for various inlet conditions of feed gas. From results, the liquefaction rate is more sensitive for inlet temperature than gas composition. The specifications of equipments such as gas blower, natural gas compressor, cryogenic heat exchanger and nitrogen compander are determined on the basis of the designed process. The requirement of power consumption and cooling water are also determined through the basic design.

  • In this paper, we propose a new safety system composed of wearable devices, driver's seat belt, and integrating controllers. The wearable device and driver's seat belt capture driver's biological information, while the integrating controller analyzes captured signal to alarm the driver or directly control the car appropriately according to the status of the driver. Previous studies regarding driver's safety from driver's seat, steering wheel, or facial camera to capture driver's physiological signal and facial information had difficulties in gathering accurate and continuous signals because the sensors required the upright posture of the driver. Utilizing wearable sensors, however, our proposed system can obtain continuous and highly accurate signals compared to the previous researches. Our advanced wearable apparatus features a sensor that measures the heart rate, skin conductivity, and skin temperature and applies filters to eliminate the noise generated by the automobile. Moreover, the acceleration sensor and the gyro sensor in our wearable device enable the reduction of the measurement errors. Based on the collected bio-signals, the criteria for identifying the driver's condition were presented. The accredited certification body has verified that the devices has the accuracy of the level of medical care. The laboratory test and the real automobile test demonstrate that our proposed system is good for the measurement of the driver's condition.

Developing the Test Module of PSAM for $Hipass^{PLUS}$ Card System (하이패스플러스카드 시스템을 위한 PSAM 시험 모듈 개발)

  • Due to the problems of existing prepaid plastic card issued by Korea Highway Company, the prepaid electronic payment system using a smart card, called HipassPLUS Card, was developed to overcome the Problems. PSAM is one of the main component of the systea which can retrieve the value from HipassPLUS card, transmit the transaction data to CSAM, and store the accumulated account lists. For the safety of the elecoonic payment system, the functions of PSAM should be faultless. This paper developed a test module including the test method, the test checklist, and the test procedure. The test module examines the functionality and security of the payment mechanism to insure that the value stored in HipassPLUS card can be raid to PSAM by the merchants and the standardized SAM. The test module also inspects the transmission mechanism to send and store the transaction data kom PShM to CSAM correctly and safely. Ihe module is designed to test the standard items using the test checklists for PSAM. The test items and the test checklists of PShM was selected under the provision of the specification of Korea Highway Company and ISO standard. Ihe evaluation on PSAM using the test module indicates that PSAM satisfies the evaluation criteria on the quality characteristics of the functionality, security, and compatibility.

Hardware Implementation of Real-Time Blind Watermarking by Substituting Bitplanes of Wavelet DC Coefficients (웨이블릿 DC 계수의 비트평면 치환방법에 의한 실시간 블라인드 워터마킹 및 하드웨어 구현)

  • In this paper, a blind watermarking method which is suitable to the video compression using 2-D discrete wavelet transform was proposed and implemented into the hardware using VHDL(VHSIC Hardware Description Language). The goal of the proposed watermarking algorithm is the authentication about the manipulation of the watermark embedded image and the detection of the error positions. Considering the compressed video image, the proposed watermarking scheme is unrelated to the quantization and is able to concurrently embed or extract the watermark. We experimentally verified that the lowest frequency subband(LL4) is not sensitive to the change in the spatial domain, so LL4 subband was selected for the mark space. And the combination of the bitplanes which has the properties of both the minimum degradation of the image and the robustness was chosen as the embedded Point in the mark space in LL4 subband. Since we know the watermark embedded positions and the watermark is embedded by not varying the value but changing the value, the watermark can be extracted without the original image. Also, for the security when exposing the watermark embedded position, we embed the encrypted watermark by the block cipher. The proposed watermark algorithm shows the robustness against the general image manipulation and is easily transplanted into the image or video compressor with the minimal changing in the structure. The designed hardware has 4037 LABs(24%) and 85 ESBs(3%) in APEX20KC EP20K400CF672C7 FPGA of Altera and stably operates in 82MHz clock frequency.

Economic effect of machine-transplanted rice in no-till Chinese milkvetch cropping systems (무경운 자운영 피복 벼 기계이앙의 경제적 효과)

  • 환경오염에 대한 우려 및 안전농산물에 대한 소비자욕구 증대로 유기농산물 시장규모가 최근 3년간 2.8배 성장 추세이다. 친환경농산물 인증면적은 '00년 2,039 ha에서 '07년 122,882 ha로 급격히 증가하고 있으나 생태적 원리에 부합된 벼 재배기술이 부족하며 특히 무경운 논토양에 대한 경영분석 자료는 거의 없는 실정이다. 본 연구는 유기농업기술을 종합적으로 투입한 시범마을을 육성하기 위하여 하동군 양보면 예성마을 1ha를 대상으로 관행농업과 무경운 자운영 피복 벼 기계이앙을 실증하여 경제적인 효과를 검토하였다. 토양 관리를 위해 2007년 9월 10일에 자운영을 3 kg/10a 파종하여 겨울철 토양 생태계를 유지하였고 화학비료나 농약을 사용하지 않았다. 볍씨 소독은 마른 종자를 60 $^{\circ}C$에서 8분간 침지하는 열탕침법을 이용하였으며 논 물담기는 5월 28일경 15 cm 이상 깊게 하여 자운영이 잘 분해되도록 하였다. 기계이앙은 6월 10일경 표면 1 cm 이내의 물 깊이에서 식부장치를 최대한 깊게하고 주수는 주당 5-7주 정도로 실시하였으며 기계이앙 후에는 5일 정도 물을 담지 않고 그대로 두고 그 후 물을 10 cm 이상 깊게 하여 잡초발생을 억제하였다. 중간낙수는 7월 10일경 1회 처리하였고 수확기 낙수는 9월 23일 실시하였다. 무경운 처리구의 이앙전 토양 가밀도는 관행 1.30 g $cm^{-3}$ 비해 0.09 g $cm^{-3}$ 정도 가벼운 것으로 나타났고 공극률은 관행 50.8%에 비해 3.5% 높은 것으로 나타났으며 특히 수분률이 3.5% 높았다. 무경운 자운영 피복 기계이앙 처리구의 잡초발생 건물량은 7월 4일경 피 8.8 g $m^{-2}$, 여뀌 10.8 g $m^{-2}$ 이었으며 9월 18일에는 피 16.0 g $m^{-2}$, 여뀌 12.3 g $m^{-2}$였다. 수확기 관행처리구의 주당 이삭수는 16.7개, 수당립수는 101개, 천립중은 25.4 g, 등숙비율은 82.3%로 수량은 517 kg $10a^{-1}$ 였으며 무경운 자운영 피복 기계이앙은 주당 이삭수가 14.1개, 수당 립수는 103개, 천립중은 26.2 g, 등숙비율은 91.2%로 수량이 456 kg $10a^{-1}$였다. 무경운 자운영피복 벼 기계이앙은 기경작업이나 시비작업 등이 없으므로 노동력이 60% 절감되었으며 농가소득은 5% 증대되었다. 따라서 농업분야 저탄소 녹색성장과 관련하여 자연 생태계를 보전하면서 농가소득을 유지할 수 있는 방법으로 무경운 자운영 피복 벼 기계이앙이 효과적인 것으로 판단되었다.
