An Introduction for Optimum Route Assessment System (최적 항로 평가 시스템의 개발 및 적용에 대한 소개)

  • For the safety and efficiency of voyage, the demand for decision support system in route planning has been increasing with the advance of information technology and the increase of oil price. According to the needs, the authors developed an optimum route assessment system. The system assists an navigator to make an optimum route plan with respect to sailing time and fuel consumption using weather forecast data. Also, the system provides the quantitative estimation for the various safety indexes including parametric roll and etc. Using these functions, a navigator is able to design the safe and efficient voyage plan. The effectiveness of system were verified by the operation during actual voyages and the simulation studies.

  • Cancer-inducing PMA stimulates cells to increase the expression of transcription factor c-Jun/c-fos and then increase the activity of AP-1 in the nucleus. The activity of AP-1 has been reported to cause cancer. In this study, We conducted cytotoxicity experiments to assess the safety of natural marker compounds and also observed inhibition of activator protein(AP-1) activity to predict cancer-preventing effects. The results of this experiment indicated that arctigenin, manassantin A, and B can predict the development of cancer prevention agents.

  • A set of definitions for traceability and quick recall service function were urgently needed to facilitate handling of events threatening food safety caused by livestock diseases or germ contaminations. However, the research on the unified management system for both international and domestic livestock products distribution was scarce. The livestock products traceability evaluation model proposed in the paper was composed of four modules: the Forward Transaction Trace (FTT) module, the Backward Record Trace (BRT) module, the Forward Product Trace (FPT) module, and the Origin Pedigree (OP) module. The evaluation indexes for each module was included and finally a pilot system evaluating the proposed management model was suggested and displayed. The result of the paper was expected to be a solution to the distributed traceability system and the proposed traceability management model could be expected to any food traceability.

Analysis of Safety Indicators by Pedestrian Accident Types in Urban Community Roads (생활도로 내 보행자 사고유형별 안전 지표 분석)

  • This study aims to analyze safety indicators for various types of pedestrian accidents (traffic accidents, crimes, crowd crush incidents, and falls) in urban community roads. The need for this research arises from the complexity and narrowness of these streets, which significantly threaten pedestrian safety. The study employed literature reviews, case studies, and field surveys to identify risk factors for pedestrian accidents. These risk factors were then systematically evaluated using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to determine the relative importance of each safety indicator. The analysis revealed that for traffic accidents, factors such as the separation of pedestrian and vehicle paths and the effective sidewalk width are critical. For crime-related incidents, lighting and CCTV coverage were found to be the most important. In crowd crush incidents, pedestrian traffic volume and effective sidewalk width were identified as key indicators, while slope and effective sidewalk width were crucial for preventing falls. These findings contribute to the development of targeted safety improvement measures for urban community roads.

  • The purpose of the current research is to evaluate the possibility of landslides by using geo-spatial information system. Geological information has been summarized and stability analysis for infinite slopes has been conducted based on the force equilibrium. In addition, the analysis of landslides was performed based on probabilistic approach by using probabilistic variables which can include uncertainty of input parameters. For the purpose of testifing the applicability of the analysis method actual geological data from a construction site was obtained, thereby performing both a preliminary analysis for a large area and detailed analysis for a better result. As a result of the current analysis several issues such as the possibility of development of landslides, detailed analysis of where landslides are most likely to be developed were analysed by using two concepts of safety and index of failure probability.

  • 리튬 이온 배터리가 소형 모바일 기기, 전기 자동차, 에너지 저장장치 등에 상용화됨에 따라서 이의 충전 상태(SOC) 추정 및 셀, 모듈의 건전성(SOH)의 예측이 배터리 사용 기기의 관리 지표로 사용되고 있다. 리튬 이온 배터리는 여러 차례의 방전으로 노화되어 기기의 요구 부하를 공급가능한지 지표로 평가되어야 한다. 정확한 SOH 추정을 위해 리튬 이온 배터리의 방전 용량 실험이 주기적으로 진행되어야 하며, 이를 통해 오프라인 기반의 SOH 추정이 가능해진다. 본 논문에서는 베이지안 회귀분석 방법을 이용하여 오프라인 SOH 추정을 진행하기 위해 방전 용량을 추정하였으며, 고출력 배터리인 18650 25R셀을 이용하여 방전 용량 추정 결과 방전 전류 1 C-rate에서 1%, 2 C-rate에서 2%의 추정 오차율을 나타냈다.

  • 전 세계적으로 가뭄은 농업·식량안보·수자원관리·생태계 등 다양한 분야에서 부정적인 영향을 미치고 있다. 일반적으로 가뭄은 강수량의 부족으로 발생하고, 지표수와 지하수의 가용성이 제한됨에 따라 작물생산 및 사회·경제적으로 피해가 발생한다. 이러한 영향은 특정 가뭄 모니터링 및 조기 경보와 관련하여 가뭄 지표를 결정할 때 중요한 고려사항이다. 가뭄을 분석하기 위해서는 가뭄 지표를 적용하여 정확하게 반영하고 나타내는 것이 중요하다. 가뭄의 특성을 객관적으로 정량화하기 어렵기 때문에 다양한 지표와 계산을 통한 가뭄 모니터링 및 분석 기술이 필요하며, 강수량, 토양수분, 증발산량 및 식생과 관련하여 가뭄 지표가 개발되었다. 본 연구에서는 혼합 가뭄 지표 (Drought Indicator Blends) 활용하여 우리나라의 가뭄을 분석하였다. 혼합 가뭄 지표는 NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration)의 기후 예측 센터 (Climate Prediction Center, CPC)에서 여러 가뭄 지수를 단기 또는 장기로 구분하여 통합, 개발되었다. 단기 및 장기 혼합 제품은 PDSI (Palmer Drought Severity Index), Z-Index, SPI (Standardized Precipitation Index)를 결합하여 가뭄을 추정한다. 혼합 가뭄 지표는 해당 지역의 단기 및 장기 가뭄을 이해하는데 유용하게 활용할 수 있으며, 현재까지 미국에서 활발하게 연구가 진행되고 있다. 단기 지표는 비관개 농업, 토양수분 등 강수량에 밀접한 관련이 있는 가뭄과 관련되어 평가하며, 장기 지표의 경우 관개 농업, 지하수위 등 장기간 가뭄과 연관성을 가지고 있다. 단기 및 장기 혼합 가뭄 지표를 우리나라에 적용함으로써 기존 단일 가뭄 지수를 활용한 가뭄 분석 이상으로 다방면에서 효율적인 가뭄 모니터링을 할 수 있을 것이라 판단된다.

The Stability Analysis of Near Parallel Tunnels Pillar at Multi-layered Soil with Shallow Depth by Numerical Analysis (수치해석에 의한 저토피 다층지반에서 근접 병설터널 필라의 안정성 분석)

  • In Korea, in general, separation distance between existing parallel tunnels was set at two to five times as distant as the diameter of the tunnels according to ground conditions. Recently, however, actual applicability of closely spaced parallel tunnels whose distance between tunnel centers was shorter than the diameter has increased due to environmental damages resulting from massive cutting, restriction in purchase of required land, and maintenance of linear continuity. In particular, when the pillar width of tunnel decreases, the safety of pillars affects behaviors of the tunnel and therefore the need for diverse relevant studies has emerged. However, research so far has been largely confined to analysis of behavior characteristics of pillars, or parameters affecting design, and actually applicable and quantitative data have not been presented. Accordingly, in order to present a stability evaluation method which may maximally reflect construction conditions of spots, this study reflected topographical and stratigraphic characteristics of the portal part with the highest closeness between the tunnels, simulated multi-layer conditions with rock mass and complete weathering, and assessed the degree of effect the stability of pillars had on the entire tunnels through numerical analysis according to changes in pillar width by ground strength. This study also presented composite analysis result on ground surface settlement rates, interference volume rates, and average strength to stress and a formula, which may be applicable to actual work, to evaluate safety rates of closely spaced parallel tunnel pillars and minimum pillar width by ground strength based on failure criteria by Hoek-Brown (1980).

Risk Assessment Improvement Method of Small Stream When Small Sized Hazard Infrastructures Survey (소규모 공공시설 조사시 세천의 위험도 평가 방안)

  • Recently, the damage caused by natural disasters such as typhoons and localized torrential rains has been increasing rapidly. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety enacted a 「law on safety management of small sized infrastructures」 and local governments have to register small sized infrastructures with the National Disaster and Safety Management System (NDMS) until March 31st every year. Recently, each local government has ordered Safety inspections of small sized infrastructures and maintenance plans and six types of facilities, including small streams, small bridges, farm roads, access roads to village, inlet weirs, and drop structures are being surveyed and digitized into a database. Each facility is being evaluated for risk, and for those deemed hazardous, maintenance plans are being developed. However, since the risk assessment method of small sized infrastructures is not clear so that is conducted through visual investigation by field investigators, risk assessment is conducted in a subjective and ambiguous form. Therefore, this study presented a reasonable and quantitative risk assessment method by providing a quantitative evaluation indicator for small stream, which has the highest disaster risk among other small sized infrastructures, so that small sized hazard infrastructures can be selected to secure transparent evidence for improvement plans and action plans.

The Effects of Horizontal Curves on Vehicle Speeds and Accidents (평면곡선부의 차량속도 및 교통사고 영향분석연구)

  • 본 연구는 평면곡선부의 차량속도변화와 교통사고에 대한 영향을 분석하기 위해 수행되었으며, 이를 위해 곡선반경별로 진입부 직선도로 - 곡선부 - 이탈부 직선도로로 구분하여 각 주행속도를 산정하였다. 본 연구에서는 선행차량에 의해 영향을 받지 않는 속도를 이용하여 평면곡선부 기하구조의 영향을 분석하였다. 이러한 곡선부의 주행 속도를 분석한 결과, 곡선반경별 최저속도와 그 속도가 나타나는 위치를 분석하였고, 해당 도로구간의 교통사고자료를 분석하여 평면곡선부의 차량주행속도변화와 교통사고 발생간의 관계를 규명하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 운전자들은 곡선시작지점에 도착하기 전에 충분히 속도를 줄이고, 곡선부에서 가장 낮은 속도가 나타나는 위치는 곡선시점의 후방에서 나타나고 이는 운전자의 시거에 의한 영향이다. 둘째, 곡선부에서의 속도변화폭이 클수록 사고위험성은 크고 실제 교통사고의 발생건수는 높다. 본 연구의 결과에 의해 도로 주행의 안전성을 고려한 평가지표를 개발할 수 있으며, 이에 의한 일관성 있는 도로설계를 유도할 수 있다.
