  • Since laboratory Staff in public institution work in facilities that handle chemicals, they have high access to chemicals and a high probability of direct exposure, so they have a risk of safety accidents. At the laboratory scale, the amount of chemicals handled is small, but the importance of safety is very high because the types of chemicals handled are diverse. Therefore, in this study, through a survey, the safety status and level of safety awareness of laboratory workers in public institutions were investigated and studied. The composition of the survey was a survey on the actual condition of safety education, awareness of safety accidents, and measures to improve the effectiveness of safety education, and suggest ways to improve the effectiveness of safety education based on this.

  • This study was conducted to examine the effect of organizational safety culture on radiologists' awareness of patient safety and safety behavior. The study was conducted based on the results of the survey, and the survey was divided into three factors: general characteristics, efforts for patient safety, and patient safety culture. As a result of the study, age, work experience, and work satisfaction were influencing factors in general characteristics, and gender, academic background, and work type were not included as factors affecting differences in patient safety awareness. In efforts for patient safety, hospital support and education, patient safety activities, and how to respond to errors were all influencing factors, especially how to respond to errors were more relevant than other items. The patient safety culture was analyzed on two items: teamwork and open communication, and both items were highly related to radiologists' awareness of patient safety.

  • The study of safety culture estimate has received a wide attentions in many other industries, rather in the contexture of railroad stands at an initial phase. A factor analysis and internal reliability test were conducted to check if the survey results are reliable by looking at how the factors are dimensioned and how the questionnaires are sub-grouped in accordance with such factors, and further if there are any other common attributes being extracted as a new factor. The designed 5 factors were expanded to 7 through the test, and they were renamed accordingly. The questionnaires are reorganized according to the new 7 factors. It implicates that thorough investigation of the common attributes is important in reducing the gaps between interviewers' and interviewees' understanding. Moreover, the results of internal reliability test represent the new design of questionnaire is reasonably acceptable with the high reliable values. We expect such approaches can be applied for the railway culture survey study to be more reliable and applicable.

  • In the process of the sustainable development of the world economy, the change and construction of urban living environment has always been the focus of people's attention. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find out the potential safety hazards in residential areas, and put forward feasible improvement plans under the framework of CPTED theory. One is to collect the necessary literature. Secondly, according to the field investigation and questionnaire survey, sorting out the existing security risks. Finally, this paper puts forward the corresponding improvement and suggestion to this research. The conclusion is as follows: First, based on the six principles of CPTED theory, problems existing in Gamcheon Cultural Village, which is subject to research, were investigated. Second, six of the most serious safety issues (safety handle, landscaping, entrance control, signs, empty space, monitoring) were objectively analyzed, and designs were presented in terms of increasing safety stairs, installing automatic entrances, open access view, unifying signs, and building leisure areas.

  • Recently, the government is trying to change the paradigm of occupational safety by enforcing the entire revision of the Industrial Safety and Health Act and the Punishment of Serious Accidents Act with the goal of reducing the occupational accident and death rate by half. In particular, small-scale workplaces with less than 50 employees or less than 100 million won have difficulties in establishing a safety and health management system due to lack of safety and health management competency and lack of will of business owners. Therefore, this study attempted to identify problems and suggest improvement measures through an expert survey on the overall business area of the small business safety and health technology support project, which is one of the government's policies.

  • Through the use and development of underground spaces, subways have become a representative means of transportation in the city center. Due to the extension of subway lines and the increase in the number of subway users, there is a risk that safety for evacuating human lives in case of fire will not be secured. Therefore, this study tried to identify citizens' perceptions of evacuation facilities through questionnaires and find alternatives. An online survey of 115 subway passengers was conducted to learn about citizens' awareness of subway evacuation facilities. As a result of the survey, awareness of evacuation facilities was high in the order of guidance lights, life-saving devices, emergency lights and portable lights, special evacuation stairs, and evacuation stairs. In addition, the majority of the respondents said they were not well aware of evacuation facilities, and people's indifference was the most common cause. As a solution to the lack of awareness, responses to active advertising and promotion, education and experience activities were the highest.

  • The construction business has a high accident rate among all the industries, and it accounts for 68% of the total accident rate for the small and medium-sized construction sites where a safety manager is not appointed,. Thus, through effective safety management and education of the construction sites, the accident rate can be significantly reduced. This study proposed a plan to improve the system suitable for small and medium-sized construction sites by integration with the basic safety & health education system. Through previous research and survey, the improvement points of special safety & health education at small and medium-sized construction sites, and the preference for integration with basic safety & health education were analyzed.
