Development of Experimental Guide Materials for Algorithmic Expression - Focusing on Magnetic Properties Experiment - (알고리즘 표현의 실험 안내 자료 개발 - 자석의 성질 실험을 중심으로 -)

  • In this study, experimental guide materials for teachers were developed so that algorithm expression, the core of computational thinking, can be applied to experimental activities. The experimental manuals presented in text was converted into an algorithmic form with a linear, branched, and repetitive structure according to the information visualization process using flowchart symbols. As an example, an experiment guide materials was developed by applying an algorithm expression to an experiment to find out the properties of a magnet. The developed experiment guide materials is different from the existing experiment guide materials expressed only sequentially in that it has an algorithmic structure of branching and repetition in which the suitability and judgment of information are expressed, and that the experiment process is visualized and expressed. It is expected that the experimental guide materials developed in this study will help teachers to understand algorithmic thinking and to implement experiments using it.

An Analysis of the Problems of Experiment and Observation in Elementary Science Instruction (초등학교 과학과 실험 및 관찰 수업 사례에서 나타난 수업의 문제점: 도시 지역의 수업 사례를 중심으로)

  • The purposes of this study were to analyze the problems of elementary science instruction, especially in experiment and observation, and suggest the directions to improve current elementary science instruction in terms of teaching methods and strategies. Data from instructions implemented by 7 elementary teachers were used to extract the problem of elementary science instruction. According to the results of instruction observation, such problems as follows are identified: 1) shortage of discussion regarding results of students' activities, 2) insufficiency of interactions among teacher-student/student-student, 3) shortage of guidance for students on observation, 4) absence of explanation on apparatus, 5) teachers' insufficient knowledge on science, 6) inappropriate use of teacher-made worksheets. Desirable directions for the improvement of present elementary science instruction were proposed.

  • 검출기 안내관은 노내 핵계측 계통의 중성자 분포 측정을 위한 이동형 검출기의 이동경로를 제공할 뿐만 아니라 원자로 냉각수 계통의 압력경계를 유지하는 안전성 등급의 중요한 설비이다. 그러나, 인출과 삽입을 위한 검출기 안내관 취급은 의외로 낙후되어 작업자의 인력에만 의존하고 있는 실정이며, 원자로 격납용기 내부에 위치한 고방사선 지역에서 작업이 수행되고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 노내 핵계측 계통의 검출기 안내관의 안정적인 관리를 위해 검출기 안내판을 일정한 힘으로 인출하고 삽입할 수 있는 자동화시스템의 개발이 이루어지고 있다. 전력연구원에서 개발한 안내관 취급기구는 롤러에 의해 안내관을 파지하고, DC 모터 구동에 의해 안내관을 인출하고 삽입하는데, 본 논문에서는 안내관 취급 기구의 제어 시스템 구성과, 롤러와 안내관 사이에 발생하는 슬립을 고려한 제어기 구조를 제안하고, 실험을 통해 구현한 제어 시스템의 효용성을 보인다.

A study on the teaching of proofs based on Freudenthal's guided reinvention principle (Freudenthal의 안내된 재발명 원리를 적용한 증명 지도 방안에 대한 연구)

  • The purposes of the study were to develop instructional materials based on Freudenthal's guided reinvention principle for teaching proofs and to investigate how the teaching method based on guided reinvention principle affects on 8th grade students' ability to write proofs and learning attitude toward proofs. Teaching based on guided reinvention principle placed emphasis on providing students opportunities to make a mathematical statement and prove the statement by themselves throughout various activities such as exploring, conjecturing, and testing the conjectures. The study found that students who studied proving with instructional materials developed by guided reinvention principle showed statistically higher mean scores on the posttest than students who studied by a traditional teaching method depending onteacher's explanation. Especially, on the posttest item which requested to prove a whole statement without presenting a picture corresponding to the statement, a big difference among students' responses was found. Many more students in the traditional group did not provide any response on the item. According to the results of the questionnaire regarding students' learning attitudes, the group who studied proving by guided reinvention principle indicated relatively more positive attitudes toward learning proofs than the counterparts.

V형 유입구에 안내깃을 포함한 액체 램제트 엔진 연소실의 3차원 비반응 및 반응 유동 해석

  • 액체 램제트 엔진의 V형 유입구에 3개의 안내깃이 있은 경우에 대하여 유동 해석을 수행하였다. 수치해석에 앞서 본 연구에서는 ONERA에서 발표한 고체 램제트 연소기에 대한 실험 결과를 유동 해석 결과와 비교하여 해석의 정확성을 검증하였다. 안내깃에 의하여 연소실로 유입되는 공기는 유입구 곡관에서 효율적인 흐름을 유지할 수 있고 분사되는 연료의 분포도 제어될 수 있다. 안내깃의 두께가 큰 경우 자칫 유입되는 공기의 흐름을 방해하는 장애물의 역할을 할 수 있으므로 두께의 변화에 대한 영향도 계산하였으나 선정된 안내깃에 의한 연소실에서의 유동특성 변화는 적은 것으로 나타났다. 입구조건을 균일 유동으로 주고 해석한 결과, 연소실에서의 유동은 안내깃의 유무에 따라 큰 영향을 받지 않았다. 그러나 흡입구로 유입되는 공기의 속도 분포는 다양한 비행조건에서 균일하지 않기 때문에 주 유동을 방해하지 않는 안내깃의 설치는 연소실에서의 좀 더 안정된 화염의 생성을 위해 필요하다.

  • 이전 연구에서 우리는 목적지까지 안전하게 보행할 수 있도록 하는 시각장애인용 보행안내 시스템을 개발하였다. 보행안내 시스템은 실내외 POI(Point of Interest)와 특정 위치마다 표식을 설치하고 보행 경로 탐색 알고리즘을 개발하여 사용자의 보행 위치를 추정할 수 있다. 실제 테스트베드에서는 시각장애인을 대상으로 실험을 수행하므로 실험 대상자가 위험 상황에 노출될 수 있기 때문에 모니터링이 필요하고 대용량의 실내외 지도 데이터를 저장하고 관리하는 것도 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 실험 대상자를 원격으로 모니터링 하고 대용량의 지도 데이터를 효과적으로 처리하는 제어 관리용 애플리케이션을 소개한다.

Grade 7th Pupils' Ideas about Identification and Control of Variables in Inquiry Problems (중학교 1학년 학생들의 탐구 문제에 대한 변인 판별 및 통제)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the ideas of pupils with that of the scientists about controlling and identifying of variables, in the two cases: open or guided inquiry. The subjects were the 7th grade boys and girls in a school, in Seoul, Korea. For the guided inquiry, the problems were given by the experiments of pupils' text. Pupils were asked to identify the variables in the experiments. For the open inquiry, pupils set their own inquiry problem. The pupils whose marks are within upper one-third of three classes were chosen. Pupils' ideas on variables were investigated in the design of experiment for their problems. In that, questionnaire developed by researchers was used. In the former, many of the pupils identify just only one variable despite of the fact there were two independent or dependent variables in the experiments. In the latter, the number of independent variables increased two or three. However, pupils do not control independent variables: they vary two independent variables simultaneously in the design of experiment. From these, we compared the pupils' ideas on variables with the scientists'

Experimental Study on the Aerodynamic Characteristics of a High-speed Ground Vehicle Moving in a Channel (채널 내를 운행하는 초고속 지상 운행체의 공력특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • A Wind tunnel test for a high speed ground vehicle was conducted to investigate the aerodynamic interactions between the vehicle and a solid channel. The free stream velocity was 30m/see and Reynolds number per unit length was $3.1{\times}10^5/m$. Experimental devices such as a variable channel ground and guide way were used for the test. As the vehicle was close to the channel ground and guide way, lift was significantly increased, drag was slightly decreased and pitching moments were restricted to augment static stability. Using smoke-wire, flow visualization was made to confirm these results by comparing the channel and non-channel flow characteristics of the vehicle. Under the influence of the channel ground and guide way, the flow beneath the vehicle was not discharged outside wing end plates, which was the major reason of the increase in lift of the vehicle.

A Study on the Driver's Preferences of Prividing Direction Information in Road Signs (방향표지 정보제공 방법에 대한 운전자 선호도 연구)

  • Although traffic information has been actively analyzed using big data, it has not been used as much with the consideration of driver characteristics. Among the various types of information, road signs can directly affect the driver. Road signs must provide the optimal information that enables drivers to reach their destinations with ease as well as information suitable for navigation systems. However, present road sign rules provide standardized information, regardless of the road type or size. This study suggests a method for providing road information that will help drivers determine their behavior. First, the minimum character size that can be used on a road sign for each design speed was obtained with respect to the visibility and decipherability of a road sign. Instead of conventional diagram-based direction guidance, a scenario using split-based direction guidance was created. To verify the effectiveness of the provided information, a three-dimensional simulated road environment was constructed, and a driving simulator was used for the test. At a simple plane intersection, the driver was not greatly influenced by directional guidance, but at a complex, three-dimensional intersection, the driver preferred summary-based directional guidance, which is instinctive guidance, over diagram-based guidance. On the basis of the test results, a secondary verification test that applied split-based guidance at a three-dimensional intersection confirmed that the driver had no problems in making decisions.
