A Stereo Surround Display Using PC Clusters (PC클러스트를 이용한 스테레오 서라운드 디스플레이)

  • 본 논문은 온라인 VR 게임 엔진의 일환으로 몰입시각화 방법의 구현에 관한 것이다. 몰입영상을 제공하기 위한 방법으로 광역의 시야각을 지원하는 프로젝션 디스플레이 구현과 멀티 채널 디스플레이의 스테레오 서라운드를 지원하기 위한 여러 대의 PC 렌더링 시스템, 그리고 이를 지원하는 애니메이션 동기화 방법에 대한 구현상의 방법을 소개 하고자 한다. 새로운 VR 기술들이 정차 시스템의 저가화에 따라 사용자에게 새로운 몰입형 아케이드 게임 환경을 지원하기에 이르렀다. 본 논문에서는 프로젝션 기법을 사용하여 스테레오 이미지 디스플레이가 가능한 방법과 멀티 채널 시스템을 이용한 멀티 모니터를 이용하는 방법에 대한 구현이다. 구현된 방법은 멀티 클러스터 시스템과 멀티 프로젝션 디스플레이 시스템, 스테레오를 구현 그리고 애니메이션의 동기화를 위한 방법으로 나누어 설명하고자 한다.

  • Recently, new games have been experimented to be given the adaptive interfaces equipped with AI algorithms which could interpret the user's personality, behavioral patterns, and physiological conditions in realtime. In this paper, we propose the intermediate form of tangible interface for PC package, which is currently decaying in commercial market.

  • It is difficult for user to use arcade shooting games because patten of the missiles patterns are not dynamic. And users are hard to access to high level because spped of missiles is very fast. In this paper, we propose rhythm based shooting game. The game give us pleasant environment and use can play the game easily.

  • With the rapid growth of smartphone game in Korea, it is necessary to review the new monetization model. Especially, various contents supplied by smartphone did not find proper monetization model from business view. But smartphone game industry actively accepted market experience of arcade game industry and console, PC based package game industry, then have developed and applied various monetization models to induce billing such as monetization model and in-game advertising model, thereby forming a thick charging user group in a short time. The development and application of this monetization model is an important catalyst for the rapid growth and development of the smartphone game market. Therefore, we will examine the process of changing the monetization model of the entire game industry and the cultural characteristics of the micropayment model in Korea. To this end, we will compare the micropayment model of Japan which introduced the micropayment model and China which leads the world market.

  • 최근 3D 모바일 게임이 이슈가 되고 있다. 휴대폰이 필수품인 시대가 왔고 휴대폰만 있으면 어디서든 게임을 즐길 수 있다는 점 때문에 모바일 게임 산업은 급속도로 발전하고 있다. 그리고 점차 모바일 환경이 하드웨어가 발전하고 3D 가 지원되는 게임 전용폰이 나오면서 모바일 3D 게임이 많이 개발되고 있다. 그러나 휴대폰의 기본 기능은 통화하는 것이니 만큼 PC 에서의 게임이나 플레이스테이션 같은 게임기와는 구조에 차이가 있다. 모바일 환경에서는 휴대폰 버튼만을 사용하여야 한다는 제약이 있다. 그래서 현재 출시된 여거 모바일 게임의 UI 와 기존 PC 게임의 UI 를 비교하고 휴대폰이라는 제한된 환경에서의 도시경영 3D 시뮬레이션 게임을 위한 효율적인 UI 를 만들고자 하였다. 휴대폰에서는 마우스를 사용할 수 없기 때문에 기본적인 게임 조작은 전부 버튼으로 조작할 수 있게 하였다. 그리고 도시경영시뮬레이션 게임이기 때문에 일반 아케이드 게임이나 캐주얼게임에 비해 상대적으로 메뉴가 많고 복잡하다. 그래서 사용자가 설명을 바로 보면서 메뉴를 선택할 수 있도록 메뉴선택은 전부 숫자버튼을 사용하였다. 그리고 사용자가 메뉴를 외우고 있지 않아도 사용가능 하도록 화면 위에 메뉴설명이 같이 나오게 하였다. 사용자는 메뉴별 설명을 보면서 원하는 쪽으로 선택을 하게 된다. 지역설정에서는 마우스의 드래그기능이 안되기 때문에 처음시작점과 끝부분을 선택하여 마우스를 대신하였다.

Consumer Oriented Pricing According to the New Game Product Launching (게임 신제품 출시에 따른 소비자 지향적인 가격결정)

  • Determining the price of a newly developed game product is a substantial matter affecting many aspects of corporate management. An appropriate pricing based on the proper data encourages consumers to purchase products repeatedly Yet presently most game companies prefer to set a price according to the cost including developing expense, advertising expense and law materials. As a result that price does not reveal the rue value of the product, many corporations face the demerits in the corporate management including the low sales, the loss of client and the poor promotion. This study has emphasis on the evaluating the price according to the consumer view rather than either corporate or industrial view. The price preference research analysis shows that Korean gamers prefer the price ranging around 30 thousand won in the simulation game, RPG game, and arcade game. In the online game, around 20 thousand won is the preferred price. This difference explains well the features of each game categories.

  • Since the advent of digital games, game of the core platform has been changed from the arcade to the mobile device. I consider that I try to seek the direction of the use of game which works for PC and mobile in comparison to analyze the changes in the game graphics. Effects of three types of game platforms on the game graphics, change depends on the game of the genre and game graphics. By reduction of the screen size, a new interface was appeared. However, as directly applying the PC version of the interface, it has brought about a user's inconvenience. I have found that mobile hardware development have not been affecting the game graphics. The common point of PC and mobile, they both have the limit of the platform which they own. There is a need to take into account the differences of graphically elements to use the player language interface.

A Development of Grid Logic Game Contents by Using Image Processing Method (이미지처리 기법을 이용한 Grid Logic 게임 콘텐츠 개발)

  • Recently, various kinds of arcade games are offered through the network with the internet's development. And for the Grid Logic game, it is opened up for everyone who uses the internet but it has a disadvantage that only the provided puzzles can be played. To improve this, in this paper, we developed a Grid Logic game contents using an image of user's as a puzzle. In order to do this, we suggested a threshold decision method, the pre-processing stage of image processing. We showed a method of detecting aim image from a binary image, showed up by the suggested way, and a method of changing into the game data and carrier of the meaning as a specific image at the end of the game are the objects of this paper. The suggested algorithm is constructed as a Java applet and applied to the 10 objects such as characters, logos, persons, etc. to show that this algorithm is suitable for the appropriate acquisition of the Grid Logic game data through the experiment.

  • After the introduction stage, Korean mobile game market is approaching to the growing stage leading mobile contents market. The environment for the mobile contents business is getting better by the expansion of the 3G mobile networks and the enhancement of the mobile devices. In this research, at a content level, not a service level, market success factors of mobile games and the differences by genres and their changes over time were investigated through the analysis of the real market data of mobile games launched by a Korean mobile carrier. The most important factors for market success, especially for the genres of RPG/Tycoon/Simulation and Shooting/Action/Arcade, were found to be the 'design' factor and its effect turned to be getting stronger as time goes by after the launch. Consumers' purchase rate was actually higher for the mobile games of popular genres or in relation with socially popular subject matters. Also 'design' and 'creativity' factors which are related to the quality of contents, have gotten more important over time. One of the most interesting results was that there existed a "blue ocean" genres like Sports/Racing/Leisure which had a steady demand but not many competing games. In the analysis of the 'convenience' factor, one interesting implication for mobile game producers was that there exists a trade off between the ease of initial adoption and the steady sales of a mobile game.

Daily Quest Design for Mobile Arcade Games -The Effect of Player's Tendency on Motivation- (모바일 아케이드 게임의 일일 퀘스트 디자인 연구 -플레이어의 성향과 동기를 중심으로-)

  • These days, virtually every mobile game has a daily quest system. Daily quest is a great tool that can attract game players by providing daily rewards as the player conducts designated missions. However, conducting similar tasks repeatedly has a risk of becoming tedious duties, and maintaining an enjoyable daily quest is critical in enhancing the overall experience of a game. Based on the awareness on the need for academic research on daily quest systems, this study categorized the types of quests systems implemented in the current mobile games, observed how preferred type differs by player's propensity, and analyzed how motivation of a player can be improved using quest types. The results are (1) the staged rewards after each clearance of a task improve a player's motivation, (2) players with high autonomy should be given a freedom to choose their own quests, and (3) players who values their playing skills higher are motivated by providing a feedback on the completion of a task.
