A direction of creative thinking training for disaster prevention and response (재난 예방 및 대처를 위한 창의적 발상 교육의 방향)

  • 본 논문에서는 재난 예방 및 대처에 있어 창의적 발상이 기여할 수 있는 역할과 적용할 수 있는 방법이 무엇인지 모색하고, 그간 이루어 져왔던 아이디어들이 실제 적용되지 못했던 이유와 실패 사례를 확인해보고 그 보완책으로 아이디어 발상에서부터 발전과정의 방법을 찾아보도록 하겠다. 창의적 발상이 가진 장점을 극대화 하며 이론적, 실제적 가치를 만들기 위해 교육 과정에서부터 그 방법이 적용되어야 함을 명시함으로서 이후 재난 예방 및 대처에 있어 긍정적 영향을 미칠것으로 사료된다.

  • This study is to suggest the design generation methodology for the maximization of idea generation ability and to overcome restriction of thinking out of existing idea generation methodology, it has suggested the CGS(Character Generation System) that is a creative idea generation methodology identified and complemented the problem of the existing computerized idea generation(PDS with Proportion) method out of the preceded studies on the creative idea generation methodologies. In addition, this research being extended on the article vol.11,no.11, "CGS System based on Three-Dimensional Character Modeling Ⅰ(Part1: about Non-Digital Process )," on Korea Multimedia Society in November 2008 issue and this study is expected to have effectives as one method for idea generation or creative image generation assistance during the 3D character development process with practical implementation of system, research directions and present the results.

  • Design is a realm one should have brought out creativity. So designers have continuously struggled for creating something new. In respects of that the essence of design work is making novel and creative things, and in design process' creative idea generation' to reach a final design solution is one of important capability that designers must have. In this study two different substantial methods for creative idea generation are suggested. One is existing' analogical association', an essential form widely used in association process, another is 'shape elements reconstruction' similarly operated 'shape grammar'. Therefore in this study for finding methods to reinforce designers' creative idea generation both of paper-based and computer-based design method are suggested substantially. In Both there is a common feature that existing or quiet new elements are organizationally associated or reconstructed in idea generation procedure.

  • Under the ambiguous situation that design aim is not defined, this study would help designers with 1. overcoming the limitation of form generation ability by establishing visual application system, 2. accepting users'opinions by generating images dynamically, analysing and giving information on the preferred ones on the web on real time, 3. identifying tendency of preference so that they can generate preferred colors and images in future by updating image combination and dropping low-preferred ones. This system would play a role as an idea or form generation application in the product design development process.

Interaction Design Framework for Idea Generation of Smart Products (스마트 제품 아이디어 발상을 위한 인터랙션 디자인 프레임웍 제안)

  • With the development of IT technology, various smart products and services have been spread in our daily life, providing users with convenience and emotional satisfaction. Particularly, input and output technologies, sensor technologies, and intelligent system technologies have offered new opportunities for diverse interaction patterns and new user experiences. This research started from the interest in the idea generation of product designers who need to combine various technological aspects with users' needs. The goal of this research is to propose an interaction design framework which can be used in an idea generation stage. To do so, first, the concept and characteristics of smart products were studied through literature reviews, and the interaction technologies, including input/output modality and context-aware technologies, were also investigated. Then, the frameworks that have been proposed in the deisgn fields were reviewed. This paper finally proposed the interaction design framework and explained its application to the idea generation, using several case studies. The proposed framework consists of four categories: product components, context-awareness elements, information input elements, and feedback output elements. Each of these are divided into several sub-categories, focused on users' needs. Sub-categories includes some elements of interaction, and each of the elements is explained with an existing smart product/system. The paper also describes how the proposed framework would be used in the idea generation process, using some design ideation examples. In the future study, more various concept ideas will be proposed through some elaborated case studies, and the framework is expected to be verified in terms of its possibility as an idea generation tool.

Idea Effect of Product Design Class Using Scamper (스캠퍼 기법을 활용한 제품 디자인 수업의 발상 효과)

  • This study aims to conduct product design class using scamper technique and to verify its creative effectiveness. Therefore, this study conducted a product design class using SCAMPER to 52 students in the second year of specialized high school, analyzed the results, and verified the effectiveness of idea generation through SCAMPER with a survey. As a result, most of the students used the 'combine' and 'modify' techniques most often to combine other products with existing products or to find and correct problems of existing products. Second, when using SCAMPER, 'flexibility' and 'reconstruction' were used among the creative components. It turned out to provide the ability to see objects from a new perspective. Third, the results of the post-class survey showed that students' satisfaction with the class using SCAMPER was high, which helped them to develop creative ideas.

Proposal of a condensing & amplification method for conceiving a good advertising visual idea (광고비주얼의 아이디어발상을 위한 압축$\cdot$확장법의 제안)

  • There were several methods of conception in seeking a visul idea of the advertising design. However, such conventional methods had a tendency that the degrees of utilization and satisfation are lacking. Also, in a thumbnail sketch phase, there was a great tendency to seek an idea based on pictorial elements only and thus depended chiefly on the existing references. Accordingly, originality was not high. Further, under the background which any common methods of a designer and a copywriter, if they have effective. I would like to propose a visul idea conception method, a condensing & amplification method for maintaining a logical system of advertising intelligence and for facilitating creative visualization through a language-oriented approach. The condensing & amplification method is the method of conception, in which after an appeal point as per advertising intelligence is passed through sentence and phrase and then condensed with word, various variation for the word develop, and by selecting the most creative word of the results, the thumbnail sketch commences based on the results amplified with the phrases and sentences.

  • The success or failure of a game depends on its creativity. Especially during the first period of the process. For this reason, requesting CGTS(Creative Group Thinking System) -previously developed system based on web- in the scenario process of the game designing development. In accordance, this study is to program the thinking performance in result of increasing creativity obect to shortening working hours.
