중학생의 성격특성, 아동기 학대경험 및 스트레스가 자살생각에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Personal Characteristics, Childhood abuse and Stressful Experience on Suicidal Ideation in Middle School Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors influencing suicidal ideation in middle school students. Methods: Suicidal Ideation Questionnaire (SIQ) results, personal characteristics, child abuse experiences, and stress were obtained from a sample of 657 middle school students from 3 conveniently selected schools in S city. Results: Suicidal ideation of participants was positively correlated with child abuse experience, stress, psychosomatic symptoms, antisocial personality and depressive tendencies, whereas sociability and self-esteem were negatively correlated with suicidal ideation. Significant factors influencing suicidal ideation included an antisocial personality tendency, stress related to the family environment, mental abuse, gender (female), depressive trend, running away from home, sociability, and stress related to academic performance. These factors explained 39.9% of the variance. Conclusion: These results suggest that earlier screening and intervention programs for depression and stress in middle school students will be helpful in reducing suicidal ideation. Further studies are needed in which other strategies that could prevent suicidal ideation in middle school students are examined.

인터넷 게임 과몰입이 청소년의 자살생각에 미치는 영향: 우울감의 매개효과 분석 (Effect of Internet Game Overflow on Suicidal Ideation among Adolescents: Analysis of the Mediating Effect of Depressive Mood)

  • 청소년의 인터넷 게임 과몰입이 정신건강에 부정적 영향을 미친다는 주장이 제기되어 왔다. 특히, 높은 자살률은 우리사회의 심각한 정신건강의 문제로 알려져 있다. 본 연구는 청소년의 인터넷 게임 과몰입이 자살생각에 미치는 영향과, 그 두 변수 사이에서 우울감이 가지는 매개효과를 검증함으로써, 인터넷 게임 과몰입, 우울감과 자살생각 간의 관계를 조사하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국청소년정책연구원의 2012년 한국 아동 청소년 정신건강 실태조사연구(N=8,745)를 분석하였다. 주요 분석 결과로는 첫째, 척도의 위험성 기준으로 볼 때 약 5.6%의 청소년이 위험군에 속하는 것으로 발견되었다. 둘째, 두 변인의 관계만을 고려하였을 때, 청소년의 인터넷 게임 과몰입이 자살생각에 유의미한 영향을 주는 것으로 발견되었다. 셋째, 그러나, 인터넷 게임 과몰입과 자살생각 사이에서 우울감이 완전매개효과를 가져, 인터넷 게임 과몰입은 우울감을 증가시킴으로써 자살생각을 증가시키는 관계를 가지는 것으로 분석되었다. 실천적 함의로서, 청소년의 인터넷 게임 과몰입과 정신건강 문제에 개입함의 필요성을 논의하였다.

사이버불링 피해 경험이 청소년의 자살생각에 미치는 영향 - 학교생활 만족도 조절효과와 관련하여 - (Study for the Relationship between Cyberbullying Victimization and Suicidal Ideation of Adolescents - Focusing on Moderating Effect of School Life Satisfaction -)

  • 본 연구는 청소년의 사이버불링 피해 경험과 자살 생각과의 영향관계에서 학교생활 만족도의 조절효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 「2017 아동·청소년 인권실태 조사」 자료 중 중·고등학생 1,244명의 자료를 연구대상으로 하였다. 연구자는 SPSS통계 프로그램을 활용하여 빈도분석, T-test와 상관분석, 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 사이버불링 피해 경험은 남학생이 여학생보다 더 높았으며, 자살 생각은 여학생이 남학생보다 더 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 사이버불링 피해 경험과 학교생활만족도는 약한 음의 상관관계를 보였으며, 학교생활만족도와 자살생각은 음의 상관관계를 보였다. 사이버불링 피해 경험과 자살생각은 약한 양의 상관관계를 보였다. 셋째, 사이버불링 피해 경험과 자살생각과의 관계에서 학교생활만족도가 조절효과가 있음을 확인하였다. 연구 결과를 기반으로 사이버불링 피해 경험 청소년을 위한 자살예방사업에 대한 시사점과 활성화 방안을 제안하였다. 또한 본 연구가 청소년 자살예방에 근거로 사용되길 바란다.

성적 트라우마 경험자의 정신건강: 트라우마 사건유형에 따른 비교 분석 (Sexual Trauma Survivors and Their Mental Health: Assessing Based on Types of the Traumatic Event)

  • 연구배경: 트라우마가 초래한 정신건강 문제는 사건의 특성에 따라 다르게 나타날 수 있다. 특히 성적 외상사건 경험자는 다른 유형의 외상사건을 경험한 사람들보다 정신건강 결과가 부정적이라고 알려져 있을 뿐만 아니라, 디지털 성범죄 등 성적 사건에 노출될 수 있는 새로운 형태의 위협이 커지고 있다. 이 연구는 성적 트라우마 사건을 중심으로 트라우마 사건의 유형이 정신건강의 차이를 유발하는지 확인하고, 자살생각과 잠재적 post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) 위험수준에 영향을 미치는 요인을 확인하고자 하였다. 방법: 전국 20대부터 50대까지 성인을 대상으로 실시한 온라인 설문조사를 토대로, 경험한 트라우마 사건의 유형에 따라 분석대상자를 구분하였다(성적 트라우마 경험자, 비성적 트라우마 경험자). 성적 트라우마 사건 경험 여부를 제외하고 정신건강(자살생각, 잠재적 PTSD 위험수준)에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 인구사회학적 요인(성, 연령, 주관적 경제수준, 결혼상태)과 회복 보호요인(사회적 지지, 회복 가능성 인지, 아동기 보호경험)을 공변량으로 propensity score matching (PSM)을 실시하였다. 이후 정신건강에 영향을 미치는 요인을 확인하기 위해 이분형 로지스틱 회귀분석을 하였다. 결과: PSM 후에도 성적 트라우마 경험자는 비성적 트라우마 경험자보다 자살생각과 잠재적 PTSD 위험수준이 부정적이었다. 이분형 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과, 성적 트라우마 경험자는 비성적 트라우마 경험자보다 자살생각이 1.9배(odds ratio [OR], 1.911), 잠재적 PTSD 위험수준은 2.5배(OR, 2.472) 높았다. 또한 트라우마 회복 인식, 사회적 지지, 아동기 보호 경험과 같은 회복 보호요인이 부정적일수록 자살생각과 잠재적 PTSD 위험수준의 가능성이 높아졌다. 결론: 이 연구는 성적 트라우마 경험에 대한 이해와 지원의 중요성을 강조하고, 성적 트라우마 경험자의 자살생각과 잠재적 PTSD 위험을 완화하고 회복을 돕기 위해 회복 보호요인을 촉진하는 전략의 필요성을 시사한다.

아동기 학대경험과 청소년의 자살생각 간의 관계 : 수치심과 친구관계의 매개효과를 중심으로 (Effects of Abusive Experiences on Adolescent's Suicidal Ideation : Focusing on Mediating Effects of Shame-proneness and Friendships)

  • This study aimed to assess the roll of various abusive factors on suicide thoughts. In particular, the effects of negligence, physical and emotional abuse, as the subordinate variables of abuse, were examined on suicide ideation. In addition, the mediation effects of shame-proneness and friendships were also investigated. To achieve these specific objectives, subordinate dimensions of abuse such as negligence, physical abuse and emotional abuse were measured for 277 male and 275 female students from Seoul middle schools using a measurement tool. Specifically, experiences of being abused and neglected, the level of suicide thoughts using scale for suicidal ideation (SSI), the level of shame-proneness and friendships using personal feelings questionnaire-2(PFQ-2), and schoolmate relationships were measured using a questionnaire. Analysis of collected data revealed that while suicide thoughts showed significant positive relationship with abuse and shame-proneness, there was a significant negative relationship between suicide thoughts and friendships. In particular, negligence, physical abuse and emotional abuse had significant effects on suicide ideation, while emotional abuse had the greatest effect on suicide ideation. Shame-proneness and friendships partially mediated abuse and suicide thoughts. The findings of this study have contributed to understanding of factors related to suicide thoughts. In particular, the mediation effects of shame-proneness and friendships have been highlighted.

학령기 아동의 자살생각과 관련변인들 간의 관계 구조분석 (A Structural Analysis of School-aged Children's Suicide Ideation and Related Variables)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the structural relationships school-aged children and related variables. For this study, the respondents were 704 children in elementary schools in the areas of Gyeongsan-Si and Daegu-Si. The questionnaires and psychological tests used in this study surveyed the following concepts: suicide ideation, social support, self-esteem and the scale of depression. The collected data were analyzed with AMOS 19.0, a statistical program for structural equation modeling, to estimate the hypothesized structural equation model. The results were as follows: First, self-esteem, - and depression as perceived by children were found to affect their suicide ideation directly. Second, parental support and teacher support as perceived by children were found to affect children's depression directly. Third, parental support, teacher support, and the support of friend's as perceived by children were found to affect-children's self-esteem directly. Last, parental support and, teacher's support did not show direct effect on children's suicide ideation, though these factors had an indirect effect on suicide ideation through the children's self-esteem and depression. Finally, teacher's support did not direct effectly children's suicide ideation, whereas it had an having indirect effect on suicide ideation through the children's self-esteem.

대학생의 생활스트레스와 우울이 자살생각에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Life Stress and Depression in Undergraduates on Suicidal Ideation)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the effects of life stress and depression in undergraduates on suicidal ideation. Methods: The participants in this study were 306 nursing students from three different cities. Collected data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The mean score for life stress was 48.48, for depression, 28.59, and for suicidal ideation, 5.90. There were positive relationships between depression and life stress, suicidal ideation and life stress, and suicidal ideation and depression. The four factors of life stress, depression, school life, and gender were identified as factors influencing on suicidal ideation in undergraduates. Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate that the establishment of mental health care centers in universities, and development and implementation of nursing intervention programs for suicide prevention would be helpful.

청소년의 자살생각 관련변인들 간의 인과적 구조분석 : 가족응집성, 가족적응성, 자아존중감, 집단따돌림, 그리고 우울을 중심으로 (A Structural Relationship between the Related Variables of Adolescence's Suicidal Ideation)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the structural relationships between variables related to the Suicidal Ideation of Adolescences. A total of 923 Middle school students residing in Daegu City completed questionnaires which assessed family adaptability, family cohesion, self-esteem, bullying victimhood, depression and suicidal ideation. The sample variance-covariance matrix was analyzed using AMOS 20.0, and a maximum likelihood minimization function. Goodness of fit was evaluated using the SRMS, RMSEA, and its 90% confidence interval, CFI, and TLI. The results were as follows : First, the variables of family adaptability and family cohesion did not have a statistically significant direct impact on adolescence's suicidal ideation, although they may well have an indirect effect on suicidal ideation through self-esteem, bullying victimhood and depression. Second, Self-esteem and bullying victimhood had significant direct effects on depression and suicidal ideation. Moreover, they also had an indirect effect on suicidal ideation through self-esteem. Third, depression had a substantial direct effect on suicidal ideation. Finally, self-esteem did not indicate a direct effect on bullying victimhood.

대학생의 우울, 자존감, 사회적 지지가 자살생각에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Depression, Self-Esteem, and Social Support on Suicidal Ideation in College Students)

  • Purpose: This study was done to examine whether depression, self-esteem, and social support influence suicidal ideation among college students. Methods: Using a correlation study design, participants were recruited from two universities selected by convenience sampling. Data were collected from June 1, to August 31, 2014 from the 206 participants included in the study. The data were analyzed using SPSS / Win 18.0. Results: There was a significant correlation between depression, self esteem, social support, and suicidal ideation. Suicidal ideation was negatively correlated with self-esteem (r=-.64, p<.001) and social support (r=-.45, p<.001), while, suicidal ideation showed a positive correlation with depression (r=.69, p<.001). The significant predictors related to suicidal ideation were depression, self-esteem, and social support. Conclusion: Findings indicate that sensitively assessing depression in college students and efforts to reduce depression can reduce the risk of suicide. Self-esteem and social support of college students are also important resources for suicide prevention.

아동의 종단적 학대 경험과 청소년기 자살생각 간 관계 (The Relationship Between Trajectories of Child Maltreatment and Adolescent Suicidal Ideation)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to identify the longitudinal relationship between child maltreatment and adolescent suicidal ideation. Several studies suggest that child maltreatment is associated with adolescent suicidal ideation. However, these studies have not focused on the duration of child maltreatment. Methods: Participants were 420 adolescents (52.6% male; 47.4% female) involved in the Korea Welfare Panel Study. Data were collected via youth self-report in 2006, 2009, and 2012. A self-report assessment of children and youths' experiences of physical, emotional, or neglect had been surveyed longitudinally. Questionnaires on adolescent suicidal ideation were answered in 2012. A growth mixture model and multiple regression were conducted using Mplus 5.21. Results: The study results showed that 93.5% of the children had experienced no maltreatment; 6.5% had experienced increasing maltreatment longitudinally. The trajectory of increasing maltreatment was positively associated with adolescent suicidal ideation. Conclusion: These results show that children suffering from chronic maltreatment are subject to a high risk of suicide and therefore require continuous supervision and management.
