2017년 우수디자인(GD)상품선정 시상식이 지난해 12월 19일 코리아디자인센터 컨벤션홀에서 열렸다. '우수디자인(GD)상품선정제도'는 1985년부터 산업디자인진흥법 제6조에 의거하여 상품의 경제성, 사용성, 환경친화성, 심미성 등을 종합적으로 심사하여 디자인이 우수한 상품과 서비스에 GD마크를 부여하는 제도로, 산업통상자원부가 주최하고 한국디자인진흥원이 주관하고있다. GD마크는 우수한 디자인 상품 개발을 장려하여 국가경쟁력을 확보하고 국민 삶의 질을 향상시키는 것을 목표로 선정하고 있다. 또한 창의 디자인강국 구현을 위해 세계적 인증가치를 구축하고, 유니버설디자인, 서비스디자인, 전통시장 산업단지 디자인을 고도화(우수디자인 선정 장려 등)함으로써 사회적 문제해결과 지속가능한 창조경제 실현에 그 의의가 있다. 올해 선정대상품목은 제품, 커뮤니케이션, 포장, 공간환경, 서비스 등의 부문에서 39개 항목으로 출품됐고, 포장부문은 소비자제품, 식음료, 뷰티/헬스, 의약품, 산업/B2B, 기타포장 등 6개 항목으로구성됐다. 올해 포장 부문에서는 엘지전자(주)의 'LG TONE+ 포장디자인'과 팅크웨어(주)의 '블랙박스 패키지디자인'이 산업통상자원부장관상을, 해브앤비(주)의 '닥터자르트 쉐이킹 러버'가 조달청장상을, 삼성전자(주)의 '갤럭시 S8 패키지'와 '웨어러블, 모바일 프리미엄 액세서리 패키지 아이덴티티', 엘지전자(주)의 '코드제로 핸디 청소기 포장디자인'이 KIDP원장상을, 애터미(주)의 '애터미 앱솔루트 셀랙티브 스킨케어 세트'가 중소벤처기업부장관상을 수상했다. 다음에 우수디자인으로 선정된 포장부문 제품들을 살펴보도록 한다.

Complete denture prosthodontics includes replacement of natural teeth and associated maxillary and mandibular structures for full edentulous patients. The final objectives of prosthodontic treatment include esthetic and functional rehabilitation. Because the esthetic demand of senior patients has increased esthetic requirement should not be overlooked in denture treatment. In complete denture treatment, attempts have been made to reproduce tooth wear, arrangement, recession of cervical gingiva, staining, improved gingival shade and so on. This 61 year old female patient came to the Department of Prosthodontics with the chief complaint that dentures made 5 years ago in a local clinic were broken and did not fit well. The patient put more emphasis on fabrication of natural and esthetic dentures than recovery of masticatory function. Remake of maxillary complete denture and mandibular implant retained overdenture was planned. In order to create esthetic and natural contour, Aesthetic Color Set Easy system$^{(R)}$ (Candulor dental GmbH, Wangen, Germany) was used to make complete dentures reproducing various gingival shades. Patient's esthetic satisfaction was high. When complete denture prosthodontics treatment involves appropriate expression of individual characteristics in addition to proper selection of esthetic materials, treatment will give satisfaction to both dentist and patient.

A cosmetic manufacturing process requires a mold that is inevitable for mass production. Cosmetic containers are one of major factors affecting the customer's purchase decision. In addition, the manufacturing cost in cosmetic container comprises a large portion of the entire product cost. Therefore, a mold satisfying the economical feasibility, aesthetics and functionality is necessary. Among the cosmetic containers, square shape containers have a tendency of having a short shot defect product. The square shaped cosmetic containers are mostly produced as a side gate shape on the two-plate molds. On the other hand, there are two disadvantages, such as gate trace and post processing requirement. The overlap-gateproposed in this study has the characteristics of intaglio gate cutting and no need for post processing. The delivery system of the overlap gate was simulated and compared with the side gate via Moldflow. The improvement in flow, frozen rate, density, and Air trap was confirmed. Based on the simulation results, the mold and performed injection molding was fabricated. In this study, the possibility of the mass production of high aesthetic and functionality cosmetic containers was verified.

This study evaluated the importance of technical characteristics in manufacturing street furniture using 3D printing technology to suggest the direction of development of high priority 3D printing technology. The importance was analyzed by the QFD, quantified by scores and the priority of the items was summarized. As a result, the 'output size', 'shrinkage of material', and 'output angle' were derived as technical elements that should be prioritized in development and research. For verification, the design of atypical street furniture was made into a large 3D printed output and the development direction was suggested by applying the technical elements of priority during the manufacturing process. Street furniture should be designed based on functionality and stability, as well as economic efficiency, productivity, and aesthetics. Therefore, the 'output size' ensured stability by minimizing the division of parts, and the 'contractability of materials' satisfied the aesthetic and productivity by minimizing the error of form. Finally, the 'output angle' was verified by improving the quality of the output and selecting an angle with efficient and structural stability through various output angles.

Various kinds of digital contents developers are recognizing the importance of interface design, but they have no integrated and arranged interface design principles, so are facing difficulties in applying them. About the interface of web-site which is one field of the digital contents, there came out necessary principles about the interface design to some extent by the active studying activities in and out of the country. However, the researchers are proposing various principles, so it is difficult to apply which design principle in what situation. To this, this study looks into the common design principles while comparing and analyzing the design principles of Donald A. Norman, Jakob Nielson, Jeff Johnson and Manna Sjoberg. Based on this, we suggest 10 interface design principles to improve the functionality and aesthetics of the digital contents.

In case with severely atrophied mandibular ridges, it may be difficult to achieve adequate retention and stability of dentures through the normal functional impression process of complete dentures. In these patients, an approach using the neutral zone raising technique may be an effective alternative. The neutral zone is defined as the area where the pressure of the tongue towards the outside of the mouth and the pressure of the cheek and lips towards the inside are balanced during the normal oral function of the muscular-nervous system. Complete dentures made through neutral zone impression not only improve retention and stability, but also provide adequate tongue space in the posterior teeth area. Additionally, food residues are reduced in the area around artificial teeth, and aesthetics are improved through appropriate facial support.

Bis-GMA, 2.2-bis[p(2-hydroxy-3-methacryloyloxypropokyl)phenyl]Propane, is an essential component as a multifunctional methacrylate prepolymer in the light-curable polymeric dental composite resins. Two hydroxyl groups of the Bis-GMA molecule are considered to induce water sorption of the photocured composite resin in a mouth, resulting in gradual long-term deterioration of aesthetics and mechanical properties of the composite resins. In this study, some additives such as light stabilizer and antioxidant were added to composite resins to promote durability and storage stability of the last product. First of all, color change increased as a light stabilizer. Tinuvin P, was added to the composed resins and color stability was improved as an antioxidant, Irganox 245, was added to ones. In addition, when Tinuvin P and Irganox 245 were added together to the composed resins. the color stability was enhanced and mechanical properties such as diametral tensile strength before and after acceleration tests were also not greatly decreased. Therefore, when 0.5 weight Percent of Tinuvin P and 0.1 weight percent of Irganox 245 were added together to dental composite resins. the durability and color stability were enhanced, and furthermore the storage stability was also improved for the composed resins.

Proper finishing and polishing of tooth restorations enhance the esthetics and the longevity of the restored tooth. The aims of this study were to identify an appropriate polishing system for each esthetic restorative material(Z250, Heliomolar, Dyract AP, Fuji II LC), and to compare the efficiency of polishing systems(Enhance, Sof-Lex, Composite). The control group remains untouched. The results were as follows: 1. There was no significant difference of surface roughness among the materials, while a roughness value of Z250 was the lowest of all. 2. The smoothest surface was produced by Mylar sheet on all materials. The polishing procedures, however, increased a roughness value. 3. The smoothest surfaces were produced by Sof-Lex, and there was significant difference of surface roughness between Sof-Lex and Enhance systems. 4. The smoother surfaces on the control group showed many scratches after the polishing procedures in the SEM findings.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of GI-STEAM program on leadership, creative personality, and learning flow of elementary Gifted Students. GI-STEAM program was the convergence model of Group Investigation that belongs to Co-learning and STEAM framework of learning criterion. The participants were 16 gifted students in a Korean elementary school located in Gyeong-gi province. The experimental design was one group pretest-posttest design. After a pretest on leadership, creative personality, and learning flow was conducted, classes were carried out as GI-STEAM program for the gifted student and a post-test was conducted. The study results of the class that was conducted twelve times for two weeks are as follows. First, Individual area of leadership is meaningfully developed in statistics after GI-STEAM program. The sub-domains of leadership, such as the communication, organization management, society commitment and teamwork showed a statistically significant improvement. Second, the domain of creative personality didn't show meaningful difference after GI-STEAM program. However, the aesthetic in the sub-domains of the creative personality showed a statistically significant improvement. Third, learning flow was meaningfully developed in statistics after GI-STEAM program. The sub-domains of the leadership, such as the balance between challenge and ability, integration with behavior and consciousness, concrete feedback and Autotelic experience showed a statistically significant improvement. In conclusion, GI-STEAM is an effective program for improving ability of communication, aesthetic sensibility, which are core competency of 'creative-convergence' gifted students. For this reason, it is highly considered that various programs applying GI-STEAM should be developed.

Orofacial dystonia is a neuromotor disorder that causes irregular or repetitive movements of the face, lips, tongue, and jaw involuntarily, also called tic disorder. Edentulous patients with these symptoms experience functional and aesthetic problems, including difficulty using complete dentures, speech and swallowing difficulties, and orofacial pain. In this case, for a patient with orofacial dystonia who experienced complete edentulism at a relatively young age, restorative treatment was performed with a maxillary complete denture with bilateral posterior zirconia occlusal surfaces and a mandibular implant-supported fixed prosthesis, and continuous smile training was performed. The aim was to improve the aesthetics of facial muscles. As a result of the treatment, the patient was very satisfied with not only improved chewing function and aesthetics, but also regained psychological stability and was able to lead a normal daily life, so we would like to report this.
