Influence of Psycho-Social Maturity and Self-efficacy for Contraceptive on Sexual Assertiveness of Male University Students (남자 대학생의 심리사회적 성숙도와 피임 자기효능감이 성적 자기주장에 미치는 융복합적 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify relationships among psycho-social maturity, self-efficacy for contraceptive, and sexual assertiveness to see which factors influence sexual assertiveness in male university students. Data were collected from 200 male university students in A city from July 1 to 30, 2015. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Significant correlations were found among Psycho-Social Maturity, Self-efficacy for Contraceptive, and Sexual Assertiveness. Meaningful variables that influenced Sexual Assertiveness were Self-efficacy for Contraceptive and Psycho-Social Maturity, and the total explanation power was 33%. In conclusion, development of sex education program to increase Sexual Assertiveness of male university students based on the influencing factors is needed.

Relations between Self-reported Symptoms of Industrial Workers' Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders and Psychosocial Factors (산업체 근로자의 작업관련성 근골격계질환의 자각증상과 사회심리적 요인과의 관계)

  • This study aims to identify the relations between self-reported symptoms of industrial workers work-related musculoskeletal disorders and psychosocial factors. The subjects of the study were 120 male workers who were using the rehabilitation center of K company and they were voluntarily interviewed with a use of organized questionnaire. Except the responses from eighteen subjects whose responses were insincere and who had disorders in musculoskeletal areas, the responses of 102 ones were decided for the final analysis. The results showed that there were significant differences in self-reported symptoms of work-related musculoskeletal disorders between the subjects according to smoking, physical burden and self-efficacy. To prevent and control work-related musculoskeletal disorders, multi-characteristic aspects of how the disorders appeared and psychological factors, in particular, self-efficacy, should be carefully considered. Then, as psychosocial factors affect musculoskeletal disorders, relations between the disorders and factors should be analysed through long-term follow-up studies, psychosocial factors should be actively intervened, and the effect should be evaluated.

Psychological well being and living conditions of children with working mothers depending on the type of after school care (초등학교 저학년의 방과후 보호형태에 따른 생활실태 및 심리적 복지에 관한 연구)

  • This study attempted to understand the living conditions of children after school, focusing on 437 children attending an elementary school with working parent. This investigation also analyzed socio-demographic variables, the forms of after school child-care and differences in psychological well-being of children. The major findings were as follows First, self-care children took up 42.3% as the result of the survey on living conditions after school of lower-grade children. It showed that children under the condition of self-caring for more than four hours a day on the average took up 2/3 of the child group. Second, the results of examining the differences of psychological well being of children secondary to socio-demographic variables, it showed significant differences in the area of anxiety with respect to children’s genders, Parental occupations in the area maternal educational levels. Third, the results of the findings on whether there were differences in the psychological well-eing of these children depending on the form of after school hour child care showed that there were significant differences between loneliness and self-perceives competence felt by children.

Convergent Influence of Ego-Resilience, Psycho-Social Maturity on Stress Coping Styles of University Students (대학생의 자아탄력성, 심리사회적 성숙도가 스트레스 대처방식에 미치는 융복합적 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the relationships among Ego-Resilience and Psycho-Social Maturity, Stress Coping Styles, and influencing factors on Stress Coping Styles of university students. Data were collected from 200 male university students in A city from June 1 to 30, 2016. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Significant correlations were found among Ego-Resilience and Psycho-Social Maturity, Stress Coping Styles. Meaningful variables that influenced Stress Coping Styles were Ego-Resilience and Psycho-Social Maturity, grade, and the total explanation power was 38%. In conclusion, development of Stress Coping Styles program to decrease the stress of university students based on the convergent influencing factors is needed, and further development of scale for Stress Coping Styles for the university students in Korea based on the related factors is also needed.

Relationship between Self-Perceived Psychosocial Stress and Depressive Symptoms among Male High School Students (일부 남자 고등학생들의 사회·심리적 스트레스와 우울과의 관련성)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the association between depressive symptoms and psychological stress, and to investigate the factors affecting depressive symptoms among male high school students. The study subjects were 573 male students surveyed from a self-administered questionnaire in October 2015. As a result, the distribution of psychosocial stress of surveyed students was 14.8% of health group, 71.9% of latent stress group, 13.3% of high-risk stress group. Depressed level of 71.4% of the distribution is normal group, mild depression group 25.30%, moderate depression group 3.0%, 0.3% was severely depressed group. The factors influencing the students' depressed levels were subjective health status, whether breakfast, sleep hour per day, academic achievement, worries, satisfaction with school life, perceived family income and psychosocial stress has been selected. In particular, the stress is related to the high depression. Therefore, it is considered that stress management is necessary in order to reduce the students' depression.

Convergent Relationship between of Positive Psychological Capital on College Life Adaptation in Freshmen of Dental Hygiene Department (치위생(학)과 신입생의 긍정심리자본과 대학생활 적응과의 관련성에 대한 융합적 연구)

  • This study aimed to investigate the effects of positive psychological capital on college life adaptation in freshmen of dental hygiene department of universities in Daegu, Busan and Ulsan. The major variables including hope, resilience, optimism, self-efficacy, academic adaptation, social adaptation, personal emotional adaptation, and university environment adaptation all showed significant positive correlations. Among the influential factors of positive psychological capital on college life adaptation, academic adaptation and social adaptation showed significant differences in optimism(p<.001) and self-efficacy(p<.001), while personal emotional adaptation and university environment adaptation showed significant differences in optimism(p<.001). Therefore, it is necessary to develop intervention programs that can improve positive psychological capital and apply them systematically to the educational field.

The Relationships of Basic Pychological Needs and Successful Aging of Elderly: Double Mediating Effect of Ego-Integrity and Cultural Competency, and the moderated mediation effect of Wisdom (노인의 기본심리욕구와 성공적 노화의 관계: 자아통합감과 문화역량의 이중 매개효과 및 지혜의 조절된 매개효과)

  • This study is a descriptive survey research for identifing double mediating effect of ego-integrity and cultural competency and the moderated mediation effect of Wisdom on the relationship between basic pychological needs and successful aging. The participants were 211 elderly people aged at least 60 from June 2020 to March 2021. Data were collection by self-report questionnaire. Data was analyzed by Hayes' number 6 and 91 models using the SPSS/25.0 program and SPSS PROCESS MACRO. According to the study, the ego-integration and cultural competence were effected to double mediated in successful aging, and the ego-integration and cultural competence were effected to successful aging through moderated mediation by wisdom. Therefore, it is needed to develop welfare policy and strategy for the elderly to enhance ego-integration and cultural competence by effort to satisfy basic pychological needs and wisdom.

Factors Influencing Hospital Nurses' COVID-19 Prevention Behaviors (대학병원 간호사의 COVID-19 예방행위에 미치는 영향요인)

  • This study is a descriptive research study conducted to understand the effects of hospital nurses' COVID-19 risk perception, media dependence, government trust, resilience, and Socio-psychological stress on COVID-19 prevention behavior. Data were collected from 200 nurses at university hospitals, and the collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, Pearson's correlation analysis, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS 24.0 program. The average age of the subjects was 29.8 years old, the hospital experience was 6.6 years, and the prevention of COVID-19 was high with 4.3 points. COVID-19 prevention behavior showed positive correlation with COVID-19 risk perception, resilience, and media dependence and negative correlation with socio-psychological stress. Factors influencing COVID-19 prevention behavior were COVID-19 risk perception, resilience, socio-psychological stress, and media dependence. To ensure that hospital nurses' COVID-19 prevention behaviors can be continued, it is necessary to appropriately manage COVID-19 risk perception and media dependence, and to develop and apply an intervention program to strengthen resilience and reduce socio-psychological stress.

Effects of the Positive Psychological Capital, Professional Self-Concept and Self-Leadership on Nursing Work Outcome : Focused on the Nurses in Small and Medium Hospitals (긍정심리자본, 전문직 자아개념, 셀프 리더십이 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향 : 중소병원 간호사를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate factors affecting nursing work outcome of nurses in small and medium-sized hospitals. The data were collected from 131 nurses working in the four small and medium-sized hospitals located K city using self-reported questionnaires and October 3 2016 to November 1 2016. Nursing work outcome had a significant positive effect on positive psychological capital, professional self-concept and self-leadership. The multiple regression analysis shows that the factors affecting nursing work outcome were positive psychological capital and self-leadership, and their explanation was 44.5%. Based on this research, it is believed that to improve nursing work outcome of nurses in small and medium hospitals, it will be necessary to develop diverse programs to lead nurses themselves positively, responsibly and autonomously.

Effects of Nursing Students' Peer Tutoring on Self-leadership, Positive Psychological Capital and Learning Satisfaction : A Pilot Study (동료교수학습이 간호대학생의 셀프리더십, 긍정심리자본 및 학습만족에 미치는 영향에 대한 예비연구)

  • This pilot study is to investigate the effects of peer tutoring on self-leadership, positive psychological capital(PPC) and learning satisfaction of nursing students, and to examine the feasibility of following study through identifying problems in research design. Before the experiments, there was no significant defferences confirming homogeneity of between groups which consisted with 10 and 8 subjects each among general characteristics, and also among their mean ranks by Mann-Whitney U test(Z=-1.40~-.31, p=.160~.754). There was a significant difference in mean rank of 'hope', one of the subdomains of PPC, between groups before and after 10 times of peer tutoring as experiments(Z=-2.27, p=.023), there were positive correlations between self-leadership and confidence, hope and learning satisfaction each before and after experiments(r=49, p=.03), (r=65, p=.01). Finally, the feasibility of experimental study applying this experimental design to investigate the effects of peer tutoring on self-leadership, PPC and learning satisfaction of nursing students was confirmed in this results.
