Laboratory Abilities to Carry-out Experimentations of Matter in the Middle School Science Texts (중학교 과학 교과서의 '물질 영역' 실험 활동에 포함된 실험 수행 능력)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate laboratory abilities to carry-out experimentations in the field of 'Matter' in middle school science texts. A total of 359 chemistry experiments from 26 textbooks has been analyzed. The authors of this study are interested in what science process skills are required for students to perform the experiments and how often these skills are needed. This article introduced a framework for analyzing the science process skills and their frequency. There are similar patterns of science process skill use among the different grades of middle school texts. The process skills of organizing results, interpreting data and making generalizations are most needed by the order of frequency. However, abilities related to alternative activities and/or conditions show relatively low frequency. For seniors, various laboratory abilities to carry out experiments are needed, whereas abilities for operating and setting up an experimental apparatus are required in freshmen and juniors. These results suggest avenues for science teachers that make lesson plans involving science experiments.

The Effect of Cognitive Ability on Training and Transfer Performance (인지 능력이 훈련 및 전이 수행에 미치는 효과)

  • This study examined the effect of cognitive ability levels on skill acquisition and transfer as a function of training difficulty. Participants were classified into three groups based on the result of cognitive ability tests. They were trained with difficult or easy tasks and then transferred to novel difficult tasks. Results suggest that cognitive ability levels influenced training performance, though the effect of training difficulty on transfer performance varied with cognitive ability. The training difficulty was most effective for those who have the medium level of cognitive ability. These results were discussed with respect to individual differences and skill transfer performance.

Effects of a Simulation-based Stroke Care Education on Nursing Performance Ability and Satisfaction in Nursing Students (뇌졸중 대상자간호 시뮬레이션 교육이 간호학생의 수행능력과 만족도에 미치는 효과)

  • The aim of the study was to verify the effects of simulation-based stroke care education on the nursing performance ability and satisfaction among nursing students. The study used a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. A total of 64 nursing students in a nursing college participated in this study. The participants were assigned conveniently according to the academic year to either the experimental group in 2013 (n = 32) or control group in 2014 (n = 32). The experimental group received a simulation-based stroke care education, and the control group received a clinical placement with self-directed practicum. The data was analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test. The results showed that the scores of the overall nursing performance ability (z = -3.373, p < .001) and satisfaction (z = -3.245, p = .001) in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group. Overall, simulation-based stroke care education is an effective teaching strategy of improving the nursing performance ability and satisfaction among nursing students.

  • 본 연구에서는 세 가지의 각성상태(긴장, 중립, 이완감정)가 3-back 과제 수행능력에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 관찰하고자 한다. 10명의 남자 (평균 $25.7{\pm}1.5$ 세) 대학생과 10명의 여자 (평균 $24.5{\pm}1.8$ 세) 대학생이 본 실험에 참여하였다. 집단 검사를 통해 추출된 사진을 이용하여 긴장, 중립, 이완의 세 종류의 각성상태를 유발하여 3-back 과제 수행 능력 측정 실험을 수행하였다. Rest 1 (2분), 감성유발사진제시 1 (2분), 3-back Task 1 (2분), 감성유발사진제시 2 (2분), 3-back Task2 (2분), Rest2 (2분)의 5단계로 실험이 진행되었다. 또한 제시된 감정 사진으로 적절한 arousal level 이 유발되었는지를 확인하기 위해 GSR 신호를 측정하였고, 실험 종료 후 주관적 평가를 실시하였다. 3-back 과제의 정답률은 중립감정일 때 가장 컸고, 이완, 긴장 감정 순서였다. 또한 통계적으로 유의하지는 않았지만 중립감정일 때 반응시간이 가장 빠른 경향을 보였다. 본 연구결과로부터 인지 처리와 무관하게 유발된 각성의 증가나 감소는 과제 수행능력을 감소시킬 수 있다는 사실을 유추할 수 있다.

A Study of Effects of Situation Awareness, Performance and Presence on Handheld Games Console (휴대용 게임기에서 상황인식, 수행도, 현실감의 효과에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구는 휴대용 게임기에서 가상현실(Virtual Reality)을 구현한 비행기 시뮬레이션 게임을 대상으로 상황인식(Situation Awareness), 수행도(Performance), 현실감(Presence)을 측정하여 세 측정 지표의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 상황인식 측정은 SAGAT (Situation Awareness Global Assessment Technique)을 이용하였고, 수행도는 분당 격추 시킨 적기 수를 기준으로 측정하였다. 현실감은 Presence Questionnaire (Version 3.0) 기법을 통해 측정하였다. 실험 결과 상황인식 2 단계와 3 단계의 능력이 좋을수록 현실감이 증가하는 경향을 보여 상황인식 능력과 현실감에 밀접한 연관이 있다는 기존 연구와 동일한 결과가 휴대용 게임기에서도 일어남을 밝혀냈다. 또한 상황인식 2 단계와 3 단계의 능력이 증가할수록 수행도도 같이 증가하는 경향이 있어 좋은 상황인식 능력이 높은 수행도를 가질 확률을 증가시킨다는 기존의 연구 결과를 뒷받침할 수 있었다. 현실감과 수행도의 관계는 본 실험 결과에서 서로 연관이 있는지 결정하기 어려웠다.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 사람들이 언어과제와 공간지각과제을 수행하는 동안 활성화되는 뇌 영역의 차이를 규명하는 것이다. 428명의 대학생을 대상으로 집단 심리실험을 수행하여, fMRI 연구를 위한 실험참여자로 17명의 오른손잡이 여대생을 선정하였다. 17명 중 8명은 언어능력은 뛰어나지만 공간지각능력이 떨어지고, 나머지 9명은 언어능력은 빈약하지만, 공간지각능력이 우수한 사람들이었다. fMRI 실험에 사용된 패러다임에는 언어과제와 공간지각과제가 각각 8block으로 구성되었으며, 각 block은 동일한 과제 3문항을 포함하였다. fMRI 이미징은 1.5T Siemens Vision Scanner로 수집되었으며, Single-shot EPI 기법으로 (TR/TE : 3840/40ms, flip angle : 90, FOV : 220, 64x64 matrix) 이미지를 스캔하였다. 자료분석은 SPM-99 소프트웨어를 사용하였다. 감산(subtraction)분석결과, 언어능력이 뛰어난 집단에서는 양측 대상회(bilateral cingulate gyri)와 좌측 상두정엽 (left superior parietal lobe)이 더 많이 활성화되었고, 언어능력이 떨어지는 집단에서는 양측 전두엽 (both frontal lobes)이 더 많이 활성화되었다. 공간지각능력이 떨어지는 집단에서는 우측 시상 (right thalamus)과 좌측 측-후두엽 (left temporooccipital)이 더 많이 활성화되었다. 언어능력이나 공간지각능력이 우수한 집단에서는 공통적으로 대상회 (cingulate gyri)가 활성화되었다.

Effects of Self-assessment using Smartphone Video Recording on Essential Fundamental Nursing Skills Education (스마트폰 동영상을 활용한 자가관찰 방법의 자율실습이 간호학생의 핵심기본간호술 교육에 미치는 효과)

  • This study was done to identify the effects of self-monitoring method using smartphone video on self-directed learning ability, competency in nursing skills self-confidence and practice satisfaction of nursing students. It was designed a quasi-experimental study with a pre-post test. The participants were 54 students in the experimental group and 51 students in the control group. There was no significant difference in self-directed learning ability (p = .450) between the groups, but there was a significant difference between the pre-post scores of the experimental group. There was no significants difference of competency in nursing skills, self-confidence and practice satisfaction between the two groups. In conclusion, the self-assessment learning method using smartphone video during the self-practice is considered to be an effective method to improve the self-directed learning ability and to ensure the accuracy and skill of the technique.

The Analysis of Elementary Pre-service Teachers' Reflective Thinking and Experiment Performance Ability on Photosynthesis Experiment (광합성 실험에서 나타난 초등 예비교사들의 반성적 사고와 실험 수행 능력 분석)

  • In order to find out Elementary pre-service teachers' reflective thinking and experiment performance ability related with Photosynthesis Experiment in the Korea Elementary School Science Textbook, the research is conducted targeting Elementary pre-service teachers. They are asked to carry out the experiment and write their own report about the difficulties and solutions of exploration process. This study aims to analyze Elementary pre-service teachers' reflection and experiment performance ability on Photosynthesis experiment based on 10 groups' reports and presentation materials. Reflective thinking extracts 108 statements which is associated with the four types of the sentence 'Knowledge, Procedure, Orientation, Attitude' in 10 reports. There are many sentences about reflective thinking acquired through analysis of the photosynthesis experiment. reflective thinking about the newly discovered type or changed concepts through experimentation in Knowledge is at the highest frequency. 56 sentences in relation to the ability to perform experiments are extracted by adding 4 different types of reflective thinking in 10 groups shown the highest frequency group and the lowest frequency group's report through analyzing 4 steps 'Experimental preparation and safety accident prevention', 'Experiments performance', 'Experimental results and generalization', and 'Experimental results and feedback.' Results of the analysis showed that there are the biggest difference between the two groups in 'experiment results supplement and feedback step.' In the lowest group's report, there's no contents related with 'Computer-assisted information processing' in the 'Experimental results summary and generalization stage', 'Alternative reagents and materials research', and 'Devising alternative experiment methods'.

환상유로에서의 고압, 저유량조건하의 임계열유속

  • 한국원자력연구소에서는 최고 16MPa애서 운전할 수 있는 RCS 열수력 Loop를 저작하고 CHF 측정실험을 수행하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 저유량조건에서 압력이 CHF에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위해 압력 12MPa, 질량유속 300~550kg/$m^2$.s, Test Section입구 과냉도 210 kJ/kg의 범위에서 CHF 실험을 수행하였다. 본 실험조건에서 CHF는 환상류영역에서 발생하였으며 발생기구는 Entrainment-Limited CHF가 지배적이었다. Doerffer의 CHF 상관식은 저압에서 예측능력이 현저하게 떨어지나 고압조건에서는 실험자료를 잘 예측하였다. Bowring의 상관식은 고압 및 저압에서도 양호한 예측능력을 보여주었다.
