Reduction of Non-Repeatable Runount in a HDD Using Visco-elastic Damping Material (점탄성 댐핑 물질을 이용한 하드 디스크 드라이브의 NRRO저감)

  • This research investigates the characteristicsw of NRRO in a 2.5" HDD by using FEM, modal testing and runout analysis, and reduces NRRO using visco-elastic damping material. Most frequency components of NRRO are generated by the defects of ball and rotating race, and they can be determined by the kinematic analysis of ball bearing. It also proposes the novel design of a spindle motor that can reduce NRRO effectively by inserting the visco-elastic damping material to one of the transmission path of NRRO, i.e., where the strain energy is highly concentrate. By this technique, NRRO is reduced by 27%. 27%.

  • A diesel forklift truck under 3-ton class has disadvantages in the vibration transmission path. Because the weight ratio of body structure to powertrain which is source of excitation force is lower th an a mid-class forklift. In addition, the torsional and bending vibration mode frequencies of body structure are within the engine excitation frequency range, then high idle vibration generated by resonance. In this paper vehicle body structure design and optimization technique considering idle vibration reduction are presented. Design sensitivity analysis is applied to search the sensitive of design parameters in body structure. The design parameters such as thickness and pillar cross section were optimized to increase the torsional and bending vibration mode frequencies.

  • This paper deals with the vibration deflection shape measurement technique for a sinusoidally excited structure using a continuously scanning laser Doppler vibrometer (CSLV). The CSLV output signal is an amplitude-modulated vibration in which the excitation signal is modulated by the deflection shapes, and thus the deflection shapes of vibration defined along a scan line can be derived by the envelop and the phase information of the CSLV output signal. In this work, a Hilbert transform based approach has been proposed for measurement of deflection shapes. This technique is as simple as the demodulation technique and allows more convenient experimental settings than the Fourier transform approach. The feasibility of the proposed technique is illustrated along with results of experiment.

  • 본 논문에서는 고효율 LCD Backlight 구동을 위해 주로 사용하던 Phase shift Full bridge 방식을 대신할 수 있는 Dual Half Bridge Inverter를 제안하였다. 제안된 회로는 일반적인 Push-Pull 인버터 구동용 제어 IC의 출력 신호 2개로 스위치 4개를 제어할 수 있으며 넓은 범위의 ZVS(zero voltage switching)을 보장하여 소자 발열 및 효율 상승의 이점을 가진다. 제안된 Inverter Topology를 소개하며 동작모드 해석과 시뮬레이션 및 실험을 통한 검증결과를 제시 한다.

  • A genetic algorithm is introduced to design a waveguide filter which is one of essential elements of satellite system. The waveguide filter composed of waveguide steps is analyzed based on the Green's function and mode-matching technique. Genetic optimization for a waveguide filter is performed in terms of each parameter. Insertion loss behaviors versus frequency are computed and compared with measurement results.

  • 파장변환 소자는 최근에 급격히 발전하는 광네트웍을 구축하기 위하여 필수적인 소자로서 여러 가지 형태에 대한 연구개발이 진행되고 있다. 그중에서도, 최근에는 반도체 광증폭기로 형성된 방향성 결합기구조(semiconductor optical amplifier directional coupler)에서의 상호 이득 포화(XPM : cross-phase modulation)에 의한 파장변환에 대한 개념이 제안되고 가능성이 실험적으로 입증된 바 있다. 이런 구조의 파장변환 소자는 입력 광신호의 파워가 작을때는 위상 정합이 되어 반도체 광증폭기의 광모드가 완전히 결합되어 cross state로 변환된 파장의 광파워가 많이 출력되고, 신호 입력 파워가 증가함에 따라 결합이 감소하게 되어 Cross state에서의 출력 파워는 감소하게 된다. 이와 같은 소자는 입력 신호광과 변환된 신호광이 역방향으로 진행하는 경우 광필터가 필요없이 파장변환이 가능하고, 변환 후의 소광비가 향상되기 때문에 향후 다양한 형태로 응용될 가능성이 있으며, 적정 설계 및 성능 예측을 위해서는 시영역에서 모델링할 수 있는 방법론을 구축하는 것이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 연산자 분리 방법$^{(1)}$ 을 적용하여 상술한 파장변환기를 해석하기에 적당하도록 시영역 동적 모델을 구현하고, 파장변환 특성을 여러 가지 면에서 분석하여 보았다.   • The building structure is planned to maximize the use of space in recent. It was developed of a hybrid OCB (Optimized Composite Beam) for trying to take advantage of the maximize space. The OCB is composed of the steel h-beam section reinforced by open strands in negative moment zone and the psc concrete section in positive zone. Flexural behaviors of typical architectural bybrid OCB section was investigated. The 15 m OCB specimen was tested under three point static loading system. Following results are obtained from the tests; 1) The OCB with 15 m span develop initial flexural crackings under the 171% of full service loading. 2) Overall deflections of OCB under the service loads are less than those of the allowable limit in KCI Code provision. 3) The crack patterns, failure mode and ultimate load capacity of test specimen and F.E. model in this paper and they are compared to each other. The OCB is verified of structural reliability from the experimental results.

  • Recently, as the catastrophic disasters due to earthquake happen frequently all over the world, it draws lots of attention to seismic capacity evaluation and/or structural integrity assessment of deteriorated civil infra-structures. However, there have been few studies on the existing dam flood gates, expecially in Korea. In this study, a proper vibration testing method applicable to a dam flood gate has been suggested, since the dynamic characteristics of a darn flood gate can be fundamental data for seismic capacity evaluation or structural integrity assessment. The frequency domain decomposition technique has been incorporated for modal parameter identification. Two kinds of vibration tests using an impact hammer and ambient vibration sources were carried out on two types of dam floodgates with different shapes. Through the field tests, the effectiveness of the ambient vibration tests were verified.

Ambient Vibration Testing and System Identification for Tall Buildings (고층건물의 자연 진동실험 및 시스템판별)

  • Dynamic response measurements from natural excitation were carried out for three 18-story office buildings to determine their inherent properties. The beam-column frame system was adopted as a typical structural form, but a core wall was added to resist the lateral force more effectively, resulting in a mixed configuration. To extract modal parameters such as natural frequencies, mode shapes and damping ratios from a series of vibration records at each floor, the most advanced operational system identification methods based on frequency- and time-domain like FDD, pLSCF and SSI were applied. Extracted frequencies and mode shapes from the different identification methods showed a greater consistency for three buildings, however the three lower frequencies extracted were 1.2 to 1.7 times as stiff as those obtained using the initial FE models. Comparing the extracted fundamental periods with those estimated from the code equations and FE analysis, the FE analysis results showed the most flexible behavior, and the most simple equation that considers the building height as the only parameter correlated fairly well with test results. It is recognized that such a discrepancy arises from the fact that the present tests exclude the stiffness decreasing factors like concrete cracking, while the FE models ignore the stiffness increasing factors, such as the contribution of non-structural elements and the actual material properties used.
