  • Client satisfaction has been getting more attention in the field of social work in Korea. However, there have been very few standardized tools to measure the construct. The purpose of this study is to develop the Korean version of the Client Satisfaction Inventory developed by McMurtry and Hudson. This study was conducted with a total of 259 clients of 6 social service agencies in Seoul metropolitan areas. Based upon the results of factor analysis, the Korean version of the Client Satisfaction Inventory(CSI-K) is considered a two-factor measure. The alpha coefficients of the subscales of the CSI-K are .964 and .885 which are considered very high. The subscales are significantly correlated with convergent variables and very weakly correlated with discriminant variables. It is suggested that scales more suitable for social work settings in Korean be developed.

  • Although education on information technology ethics is increasingly being reinforced in elementary and middle schools, immoral and illegal behaviors online are not showing any sign of decrease. Because cognition- based education fails to lead students' practice on what they learned. Therefore, this study proposes a teaching- learning model integrating cognitive, affective and conative dimensions which had been developed on the elementary students' practice of information technology ethics. We verified the effect of achievement and practice through application this model to the school. To raise reliability we analysed the result of learning such as observation, analysis video data, homepage etc., and interview.

  • In this paper, we will introduce IPP (Industry Professional Practice) model which is a unique Korean long-term co-op (co-operative) education model developed and will be implemented by Korea Tech. IPP model is designed to make up for the weak points of the existing short-term job training system and to fit Korean educational environment by benchmarking North America co-op model that has 100 years of history, and it will be supported by the Korean government (Ministry of Employment and Labor) unlike other existing co-op systems in Korea. In order to be a successful IPP program, it is required of companies' active participation to this program with open mind, and university's investment on IPP infrastructure such as concrete academic system design and IPP center, etc.

In order to accomplish the purpose of research, 7 practitioners with out-of-school youths participated. Data were collected through in-depth interview. In addition, the data were analyzed by a Colaizzi's phenomenological analysis. The findings showed that the meaning of experiences in practitioners with out-of-school youths were identified as 17 themes and 5 categories. The 5 categories consisted of "School is not amused", "Family is unhappy", "They hide behind pain or excuses", "Let's go together, until it can be found", "We hope the world changed". Based on the findings, we discussed the meaning of experiences in practitioners with out-of-school youths. And lastly, this results made suggestions for the social welfare policies and practices for them.

  • This paper presents several case studies of asian colleges's co-op program for successful operation of KOREATECH IPP(Industry Professional Practice) program. The IPP program is a new educational model that combines academic study and industrial work through university-industry cooperation. The IPP experience will lead the university graduates to improve their employment competencies and will be a key to solve the problems of the labor mismatch between university and industry. We will discuss and analyze the strengths and the weaknesses of the Co-op programs of the Kyoto sangyo university, the Hong Kong polytechnic university and the suranaree university in thailand. Based on these case studies, we summarized several benchmarking points for the successful operation of IPP program.

  • This is the second segment of an action research on the constructivist geography education.(1)Deeper and lasting construction of knowledge may be possible especially when some key or leading concepts are utilized, around which other related concepts may be further explored. (2) Graphic languages may be more pedagogically effective than any other language, when they are viewed as means of learning may be the teacher's questioning, cooperative discussion, and the teacher's guidance and assistance. The questioning by the teacher seems effective when it is appropriate to the different levels of learner's comprehension, and cooperative discussion among thern seems productive with the teacher's attentive guidance. And, (5) constructivism may best be understood when teachers try to embody it in their own classrooms. This may be part of the context in which action research is called for.

  • In this research, an improved learning system in engineering design and HRD curriculums, and an operation of experiment and practice are proposed. That is, we propose improvements for creativity, for filed orientation and for experimental and practice operation. Specifically, we suggest the possibility of common operation between engineering design and HRD curriculums based on learning experience.

Participants were 121 pre-service early childhood teachers'. They were early childhood education freshmen and sophomores who did not experience teaching practicum. The opened survey expressing metaphors about teaching practicum was conducted. The results showed that participants suggested 114 metaphors and those were coded and divided. The results were categorized into 11 types including 'It is hard but also fruitful.', 'It is a new experience.', 'It is hard and difficult.', 'It is meaningful and important.', 'I am afraid and worried.', 'I learn a lot.', 'I have to go though it.', 'I have to make an effort.', 'It is pleasant.', 'I am evaluated.' and 'others'. We expect that this research will give a chance to review what the teaching practicum means to pre-service early childhood teachers and make plans for pre-service early childhood teachers to prepare the teaching practicum with proper perception.
