2D/3D conversion method using depth map based on haze and relative height cue (실안개와 상대적 높이 단서 기반의 깊이 지도를 이용한 2D/3D 변환 기법)

  • This paper presents the 2D/3D conversion technique using depth map which is generated based on the haze and relative height cue. In cases that only the conventional haze information is used, errors in image without haze could be generated. To reduce this kind of errors, a new approach is proposed combining the haze information with depth map which is constructed based on the relative height cue. Also the gray scale image from Mean Shift Segmentation is combined with depth map of haze information to sharpen the object's contour lines, upgrading the quality of 3D image. Left and right view images are generated by DIBR(Depth Image Based Rendering) using input image and final depth map. The left and right images are used to generate red-cyan 3D image and the result is verified by measuring PSNR between the depth maps.

Weather Classification and Fog Detection using Hierarchical Image Tree Model and k-mean Segmentation in Single Outdoor Image (싱글 야외 영상에서 계층적 이미지 트리 모델과 k-평균 세분화를 이용한 날씨 분류와 안개 검출)

  • In this paper, a hierarchical image tree model for weather classification is defined in a single outdoor image, and a weather classification algorithm using image intensity and k-mean segmentation image is proposed. In the first level of the hierarchical image tree model, the indoor and outdoor images are distinguished. Whether the outdoor image is daytime, night, or sunrise/sunset image is judged using the intensity and the k-means segmentation image at the second level. In the last level, if it is classified as daytime image at the second level, it is finally estimated whether it is sunny or foggy image based on edge map and fog rate. Some experiments are conducted so as to verify the weather classification, and as a result, the proposed method shows that weather features are effectively detected in a given image.

Depth estimation and View Synthesis using Haze Information (실안개를 이용한 단일 영상으로부터의 깊이정보 획득 및 뷰 생성 알고리듬)

  • Previous approaches to the 2D to 3D conversion problem require heavy computation or considerable amount of user input. In this paper, we propose a rather simple method in estimating the depth map from a single image using a monocular depth cue: haze. Using the haze imaging model, we obtain the distance information and estimate a reliable depth map from a single scenery image. Using the depth map, we also suggest an algorithm that converts the single image to 3D stereoscopic images. We determine a disparity value for each pixel from the original 'left' image and generate a corresponding 'right' image. Results show that the algorithm gives well refined depth maps despite the simplicity of the approach.

지형정보를 이용한 VR 환경구축

  • 실 지형정보를 이용한 3D 가상환경은 사용자에게 좀 더 현실에 가까운 교육환경을 제공한다. 3D 가상환경에 사용되는 지형정보는 mesh를 생성하기 위한 고도 data와 mapping을 위한 위성영상이나 항공사진 등이 사용된다. 고도 데이터는 DEM,DTED와 같은 데이터 포맷이 있는데 해상도에 따라 초단위 또는 M 단위로 다양하게 분류되어 있으며 위성영상이나 항공사진도 해상도에 따라 50M∼10Cm 까지 다양하여 사용목적에 맞는 데이터 선택이 필요하다. 고도데이터와 mapping 데이터를 이용하여 기본적인 3D 지형을 생성한 후에 안개나 비, 눈, 빛, 구름과 같은 기상환경을 시뮬레이션하거나 건물이나 이정표, 또는 텍스트 같은 사용자 정보를 Vector overlay 하여 좀 더 현실감 있는 3D 가상환경을 만들 수 있다. 최근에는 인터넷이 일반화되면서 네트웍을 통해 지명데이터를 전송하고 렌더링 하고자 하는 요구가 발생하고 있다. 그러나 3차원 가상환경을 위한 지형 데이터는 2D 데이터에 비해 크기가 크고 고사양의 하드웨어사양을 필요로 하여 네트웍을 통해 전송하고 랜더링 하기에는 여러 가지 제약이 따른다. 이러한 재약을 극복하기 위해 데이터를 한꺼번에 전송하지 않고 점진적으로 전송하고자 하는 연구가 많이 있어 왔으며 점진적 메쉬나 딜로니 규칙에 기반한 TIN 압축 점진적 시각화 기법, DEM 웨이블릿 변환을 적용한 저장, 전송 렌더링 하고자 하는 연구가 시도되어 왔다.

Research on Functional Paper by using Traditional Dyestuffs (전통 염색 재료를 활용한 기능성 종이 연구)

  • Dyestuffs extracted from fifteen kinds of natural dyeing materials were researched on their antimicrobial performance against 3 kinds of bacteria and 2 kinds of fungi in order to develop conservation/storage materials of traditional and natural dyed papers. The three types of mordants were evaluated by using the same method and then mixed with the dyestuffs to research their antimicrobial performance. With those results, dyed paper was made by mixing mordants with 9 kinds of dyestuffs with excellent antimicrobial performance. Among the dyed papers, Cotinus coggygria, Coptis chinensis, Phellodendri amurense, Rhus javanica and Acer ginnala multiple mordant papers were found to have an antibacterial quality against fungi, while, in the insect repellent experiment using termites, Coptis chinensis and Phellodendri amurense dyed papers were found to have insect repellent qualities. Also, with regard to the research result about the affect of dyeing paper on other materials like metal, Coptis chinensis have relatively stable qualities. Also, the three types of dyeed paper by Cotinus coggygria, Coptis chinensis and Phellodendri amurense, were found to have a tendency to remove harmful gases. Not only can these dyed papers be used for making storage box for cultural properties to prevent various organic artifacts from bio-damaging, but they can also be utilized as functional finishing materials in various spaces.

Effects of Cutting Time, Auxin Treatment, and Cutting Position on Rooting of the Green-wood Cuttings and Growth Characteristics of Transplanted Cuttings in the Adult Prunus yedoensis (왕벚나무 성목 녹지삽목에서 삽목시기, 옥신처리 및 삽수부위가 발근에 미치는 영향과 이식 삽목묘의 생육특성)

  • This study was conducted to develop an efficient mass propagation method for the mature $Prunus$ $yedoensis$ Matsumura (43 to 58 years old). Cutting was conducted depending on cutting time, auxin treatments (IBA and NAA treatments mixed with talc powder), and cuttings position on shoots in a plastic house equipped with a fog system without heating. Rooted cuttings were transplanted to a nursery bed, and their growth characteristics were investigated in order to check whether the cuttings are successful or not for roadside tree planting. The average rooting rate was highly significant ($P$ < 0.0001) in all treatments: cutting on June 1st (61.4%) was more than two times greater in rooting rate than that on August 1st (23.6%); IBA 1,000 $mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ (90.8%) and IBA 500 $mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ (89.2%) showed much greater rooting rates than those of the other treatments; upper part of the cuttings treated with IBA 1,000 $mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ showed the highest rooting rate, 96.7%. The interactions among treatments in the average rooting rate were also significant. There were significant differences ($P$ < 0.0001) among the auxin treatments in the survival rate of leafed cuttings transplanted to a nursery bed. The average survival rate was 46.5%, and IBA 1,000 $mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ treatment was the highest in leafed cuttings 79.2%, but most of leafless cuttings were dead. There were significant differences ($P$ < 0.0001) among the cuttings, grafts, and in the seedlings height, diameter at root collar, the number of roots, branches, and leaves, etc., and the cuttings was the best. We can expect a possibility of mass propagation of improved $P.$ $yedoensis$ Matsumura and a high planting survival rate through the transplanting of cuttings to a nursery bed in which the cuttings should be the following conditions: cutting in June to July, use of the upper part of cuttings, IBA treatment, and rooting in August in a cutting-greenhouse equipped with a fog system.

Efficient Design of a Disaster Broadcasting System using LTE Modem (이동 LTE모뎀을 활용한 재난방송시스템 설계)

  • Recently, damage caused by natural disasters such as fire, earthquake, heavy rains and heavy snow is increasing. In addition, traffic accidents due to freezing, fog and fire in tunnels and bridges are frequently occurring. In such a disaster situation, it is very important to take prompt action by the person in charge of managing the facility and area.To this end, a disaster broadcasting system is used, but in the existing system, the broadcasting room and the speaker are connected by a wired connection. Also, the person in charge has to be in the broadcasting room to broadcast, which has a problem of delaying the time. In this paper, we design a disaster broadcasting system using LTE modem. The designed system enables a broadcasting person to make a call to a broadcasting system from anywhere using a cellular phone and a public telephone. Broadcasting via telephone is possible only with the telephone number pre-registered in the system and can be registered / deleted by the administrator. The registered telephone number, incoming voice file, and announcement voice for automatic broadcasting are stored in the system internal SD memory for convenient management. This disaster broadcasting system is expected to contribute to quick and convenient disaster broadcasting.
