Effect of Fundamental Nursing Class using Evidence-Based Practice (근거기반실무를 활용한 기본간호학 수업 운영의 효과)

  • The nursing education with evidence-based practice(EBP) should set a differentiated education strategy according to the level of the learner, so that the students experience it step by step and it leads them to be skilled. The purpose of this study was to integrate and operate the EBP in the fundamental nursing classes of the second grade students and to verify the effectiveness on improvement of EBP basic competency of them. A non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. The subjects were 108 students in the second year of nursing at the two universities. The experimental group participated in the class for 8 weeks and 24 hours during the 15-weeks, second semester 2016 and the control group participated in general fundamental nursing class. Data were collected proactivity in problem solving, future use of EBP, and critical thinking disposition instrument and analyzed using SPSS/WIN 23.0 program with Chi-square test, independent t-test. The experimental group had a significant increase in proactivity in problem solving and future use of EBP compared to the control group. However, there was no significant difference in critical thinking disposition between the two groups. Findings indicate that the fundamental nursing class used EBP was an effective lesson to improve proactivity in problem solving and future use of EBP, which is the EBP basic competency for the lower grader. Long-term efforts are needed to improve the EBP competence and critical thinking of nursing students by curriculum appropriate to grade-based goals of EBP.

Exploring Ways to Improve Operation on the System of Administrative Executive Staffs (행정실무사 제도의 효율적인 운영을 위한 개선 방안 탐구)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the ways for effective operation of System of Administrative Executive Staffs(SAES) by analyzing the perception of teachers and Administrative Executive Staffs(AES). To do so, FGI was used on teachers and AES, in Gyeonggi-do. As a result, teachers and AES agreed with SAES' management and positively evaluated SAES' performance in diminishing teachers' administrative duties. AES classified methods of works-division into 'one-way', 'voluntary', 'discussion' and distinguished 'trivial-works' from 'support-teaching works'. SAES's positive outcomes were strengthening teachers' competencies, establishing AES's identity, changing school atmosphere to focused-instruction. But there were also problems as workload sharing's ambiguity, absence of system for workload-share, poor competencies of members, lack of communication among members, etc. Several ways for the successive operation of SAES are as follows; principal's understanding and positive mind on SAES, offering manual of work-division reflecting the school's real condition, teachers' consideration on AES, offering proper training by considering one's ability.

Analysis on Textbook Contents & Proposition on Direction of Textbook Writing for 'Teaching Practice' ('교직실무' 교재내용 분석 및 교재 집필 방향)

  • Recently, the criterion of teachers' qualification has been changed in Korea. 'Teaching Practice' was included new subject in the teaching training system since 2009. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the textbook contents and to propose the direction of textbook writing for 'teaching practice'. So the study contents of this paper are as follows ; First, it is to identify the changes of the teacher training system and the principles of collection on textbook materials. Second, it is to review the trends of the authors' character and the textbook contents on 'Teaching practice'. Finally, it is to proposal the direction of textbook writing for 'teaching practice'. For this study, the researchers collected 15 textbook published in Korea from 2009 to 2011. According to the results, the researchers to present the authors' number, authors' position, the system of chapter topics on the textbook. Based on these finding, the proposition of the textbook writing were present as follows: First, to change the criterion of national documents. Second, to collect the needs on the school fields widely. Third, to grasp the unique identity of subject that is isolated from the previous subjects, Fourth, it is to promote the joint writing form which is include professors and experts in the school field.

Perceived Knowledge of Evidence-Based Practice among University Librarians (대학도서관 사서가 인식한 근거기반실무 지식의 영향 요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the levels and factors influencing perceived knowledge of evidence-based practice(K-EBP) among university librarians. The results were as follows. Variables with significant differences in K-EBP were age, education level, employed type, position, frequency of reading journal articles, and attendance of conference. Multiple regression analysis showed that the predicting factors influencing K-EBP were education level and frequency of reading journal articles. Also, It turned out to be weak in critically appraising and applying research evidence in practice, and in understanding research literature and conducting research among items of K-EBP. For developing university librarians' K-EBP, they need to improve overall research literacy. Library organization and library sectors need to support research activities of librarians. Finally, many different education programs are needed to develop librarians' research skill and to utilize for enlargement of evidence-based practice.

A Study on the Teacher's perception in Vocational High School for the Subject of NCS-based Metal Machining (NCS기반 절삭가공 실무과목 수업에 대한 특성화고 기계계열 교사의 인식)

  • The Ministry of Education has been quick to apply National Competency Standars (NCS) to industrial sites and educational·training institutions in order to resolve discrepancies between practical affairs in industrial sites and vocational education, training & requirements. Full implementation of NCS-based curriculum in vocational education of vocational high schools has been mandatory since 2018. This research used a region-stratified sample of 350 from teachers in 'machinery' and 'machine·metal' majors in mechanical departments of vocational high schools to investigate the awareness of practical courses for metal machining among the teachers. The research results are as follows. First, a majority of the respondents indicated the availability of turning process, milling process, computer integrated manufacturing and measuring courses in mechanical departments. Second, capabilities required by the industry are considered most in selecting practical courses and competence units. Third, positive changes with the introduction of practical courses in the school education are students' practical skills improvement and satisfaction of industrial requirements. Fourth, negative changes with the introduction of practical courses in the school education are too difficult learning modules used in practical courses for students and students' difficulty in learning because of the difference between equipment in schools and industrial equipment in learning modules. Fifth, teachers' satisfaction with practical courses classes and overall conditions is above the average, and their satisfaction with the level of practical courses and bookbinding or purchase of rearranged textbooks of practical courses is below the average. Therefore, application conditions of above-mentioned representative 4 practical courses should be examined and taken care of for consistent improvement to stabilize NCS-based educational courses in mechanical departments.

  • 오늘날 건축계는 정치ㆍ경제ㆍ사회적 혼돈 상황 못지 않게 지난 몇 해 이래 혼란의 와중에서 벗어나지 못하고 있다. 설계시장의 대외개방, 행정개혁에 따른 건축관계법령 정비, 연이은 대형사고에 따른 감리업무 강화 및 건축사의 책임증대, 건설업계의 설계영역 진출 시도, 경기불황에 따른 설계사무소의 경영압박 및 부익부 빈익빈 현상 심화, 과열된 수주경쟁과 건축사의 윤리의식에 대한 논쟁, 전문직으로서의 건축사 역할과 사회 대중적 요구간의 갈등. 이렇듯 혼돈과 혼란의 상황이 계속되고 있는 건축계의 현실을 바라다보는 건축 각 실무분야의 시각 또한 연령과 지역, 사무소의 규모, 작업형태, 개인적 철학이나 건축관 등에 따라 다양할 수 밖에 없을 것이다. 이에 본지는 오늘날 실무건축계가 처한 현실을 재진단하고 나아가 미래의 모습을 함께 생각해 보고자 '97실무건축계의 자화상'이란 주제로 각 실무분야를 배경으로 실질적 관심사항과 실무건축계의 긍정적ㆍ부정적 모습은 물론 해결되어져야 할 문제점, 나아갈 방향 등에 대해 다양하고도 진솔한 목소리를 들어보고자 한다.
