  • 본 연구에서는 미사일의 내부 잡음특성을 모델로 연구하였으며 실린더의 크기에 따른 효과도의 차이를 분석하였다. 미사일 구조물의 길이와 반경을 바꾸며 실린더 내부의 전계강도를 측정한 결과 후방 도어의 크기보다도 전체 원형 구조의 크기에 주도되는 것을 확인하였다.

  • 채널 내부에 장애물이 존재하는 유동 형태는 다양한 공학적 문제에서 나타나고 있으므로 여러 가지 형상 및 유동 조건에 따른 유동 특성 연구가 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 장애물의 형상을 일정한 크기의 원형 실린더로 설정하고 실린더는 위아래 채널 벽 중앙에 위치하도록 하여 2차원 채널 내에 원형 실린더가 존재하는 경우에 대하여 CFD연구를 수행하였다. 실린더와 위아래 채널 벽면과의 거리를 변화시켜 각각의 거리에 대해 유동 재부착 길이, 유동의 주기성, 항력계수 등의 유동 특성을 관찰하였다. 연구결과 각 간격[실린더벽면과 채널벽면간의 거리(G)/실린더지름(d)]이 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 5, 15에 따른 재 부착 지점(Reattachment Length)은 채널 벽면이 실린더로부터 멀어질수록 완전히 열린 유동장에서의 유동 재부착 지점에 수렴해간다는 것을 확인하였다. 즉 거리가 멀어질수록 벽면 영향이 줄어든다는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 각각의 경우에 대해 항력계수 값을 구하였고, 이를 완전히 열린 유동장에서의 항력계수 값과 비교해 보았다. 그 결과 벽면으로부터의 떨어진 거리가 5부터 벽면의 효과가 줄어들어 10이상이 되었을 때부터 그 영향이 아주 미미하다는 것을 확인하였다.

Effect of Inner Circular Cylinder Size on Three-Dimensional Natural Convection in Cubical Enclosure (내부 원형 실린더의 크기가 정육면체 밀폐계 내부의 3 차원 자연대류 현상에 미치는 영향)

  • This study evaluates the effect of a heated circular cylinder's size on three-dimensional natural convection in a cubical enclosure. The Rayleigh number was varied between $10^3$ and $10^5$, and the Prandtl number was maintained at 0.7. In this study, the radius of the circular cylinder was changed by 0.1 L within a range of 0.1-0.4 L. The thermal and fluid flow characteristics were regarded to be independent of time in the range of the Rayleigh number and cylinder radius considered in this study. The surface-averaged Nusselt numbers of the cylinder and the enclosure were found to increase with the increase in the radius of the cylinder. The effect of the cylinder's size on natural convection in the enclosure was analyzed across the thermal and flow fields, and the distributions of the Nusselt numbers.

  • The reduction phenomena of concrete compressive strength with the size of cylinders have been very interested in, but till now the adequate. analysis technique is not fixed. Based on the existing research results. the bigger the member size is, the smaller the strengt.h is. However. the real test ~.csults reveal that the wduction rate becomes blunt and there are considerable differences between size offrct law and real results. The punposc. ofthis paper is to propose tho model equat.ion which covers the compressive strength of' cylinder specimens in case of general hight/dialnetcr ratio in terms of the size effect. he effect of maximum aggregate size on the microcrack zone was also studied, and the model equation was proposed by considering the concept of'the characteristic length. These results will also be used to predict the cornprcssivt. stxngth of various sized concrete cores sampled from existing structures.

  • When the ultimate strength of a concrete flexural member is evaluated, the effect of member size is usually not considered. For various types of loading, however, the strength always decreases with the increment of member size. In this paper the size effect of a flexural compression member is investigated by experiments. For this purpose, a series of C-shaped specimens subjected to axial compressive load and bending moment was tested using three different sizes of specimens with a compressive strength of 528 kg/$cm^2$. According to test results the size effect on flexural compressive strength was apparent, and more distinct than that for uniaxial compressive strength of cylinders. Finally a model equation was derived using regression analyses with experimental data.

  • Thrust force induced by the dielectric barrier discharge inside of cylinder pipes is measured for various conditions. The input peak-to-peak voltage and frequency are varied from 2 to 9 kVpp and from 5 to 15 kHz, respectively. The height of cylinder is varied from 50 to 100 mm. The results of the measurements show that the magnitude of the generated thrusts increases as the voltage and the frequencies increase. It also shows that the generated thrusts are decreased according to the increase in the height of the cylinder. The cause of the thrust decrease is discussed in terms of energy losses due to the frictions on the wall surface.

  • Flow characteristics of the control-rod-attached 2-dimensional circular cylinder was accomplished using by PIV techniques. model tests had been carried out with different diameters of control rods(d/D=0.1 through d/D=0.5). and the Reynolds number Re=15,000 based on the cylinder diameter(D=50mm) to predict the performance of the model and the two-frame grey-level cross-correlation method had been used to obtain the velocity distribution in the flow field. 50mm circular cylinder had been used during the whole experiments and measured results had been compared with each other. The measured results have been compared with each case. therefore this article identifies not only the mean velocity profiles but also the control effects of the control rods.

Estimation on a Contact Size Effect in Fretting Fatigue Between Cylindrical Pad and Flat Specimen (실린더형 패드와 평판 시험편간 프레팅 피로의 접촉폭 크기효과에 관한 평가)

  • In general, fretting is a contact damage process due to micro-slip associated with small amplitude oscillatory movement between two surfaces in contact. Previous studies in fretting fatigue have observed a contact size effect related to contact width. The volume-averaging method of theoretically predicted contact stress fields was required to emulate experimental trends and to predict the observed contact size effects. This contact size effect is captured by the mean values of stresses and strains at the element integration points of FE model and two critical plane models (SWT, FS) in the present paper. It is shown that crack nucleation and fretting fatigue life can be predicted by the FE-based critical plane models.

Viscous Mean Drift Forces on a Floating Vertical Cylinder in Waves and Currents (파랑과 조류에 의한 부유식 수직 실린더 구조물에 작용하는 평균 점성 표류력)

  • In offshore floating structures, the viscous mean drift force due to drag is considered a design part that has not been considered until recently. In this paper, an analytical solution for the viscous mean drift forces on a floating vertical cylinder considering the waves and currents was obtained. The area was considered by dividing it into a splash zone above the free surface and a submerged zone below the free surface. In the case of waves, only the splash zone was considered; in the case of waves and currents, equations were obtained in both the splash zone and the submerged zone. The RAO results of previous studies were used to compare the calculated results with the drift forces acting on the fixed cylinder. Except for the case in only waves in the splash zone, the viscous mean drift force acting on the floating cylinder was larger than the drift force acting on the relatively fixed cylinder in most frequencies. In particular, the increase was greater when the currents were considered to be more important. Therefore, these results provide the inference for the viscous drift force due to drag in the design of floating offshore structures.

A Comparison Study on the Sterilization Effect of Ballast Water with Cylinder Type and Groove Type (선박평형수 처리장치의 cylinder type과 groove type의 살균효과 비교 연구)

  • Current ballast water treatment technologies are applying chemical or electrical treatment technology which are not free from secondary environmental pollution. The purpose of this study is to treat the ballast water by shear stress without an additional environmental pollution and to find out the optimal treatment apparatus. We tried to treat ballast water by applying shear stress with two different type of combination of inner and outer cylinder, such as non-pattern type and groove type. In the case of non-pattern type of inner and outer cylinder, sterilization effect was comparatively low because of a slip between inner and outer cylinder. But in the case of groove type of inner and outer cylinder, sterilization effect was superior to the non-pattern type. With a same revolutional speed of 8000rpm, an extinction effect was acquired in the gap of 1 mm of inner and outer cylinder at non-pattern type, but 3mm of that of groove type.
