Non-contact Stress Measurement in Steel Member of PSC Box Bridge Using Raman Spectroscopy (라만 형광 분광법을 이용한 PSC 박스교 인장케이블 응력측정방법 연구)

  • In this paper, a laser-based non-contact load cell is newly developed for measuring forces in prestressed concrete tendons. First, alumina particles have been sprayed onto an empty load cell which has no strain gauges on it, and the layer has been used as a passive stress sensor. Then, the spectral shifts in fluorescence spectroscopy have been measured using a laser-based spectroscopic system under various force levels, and it has been found that the relation of applied force and spectral shift is linear in a lab-scale test. To validate the field applicability of the customized load cell, a full-scale prestressed concrete specimen has been constructed in a yard. During the field test, it was, however, found that the coating surface has irregular stress distribution. Therefore, the location of a probe has to be fixed onto the customized load cell for using the coating layer as a passive stress sensor. So, a prototype customized load cell has been manufactured, which consists of a probe mount on its casing. Then, by performing lab-scale uniaxial compression tests with the prototype load cell, a linear relation between compression stress and spectrum shift at a specific point where laser light had been illuminated has been detected. Thus, it has a high possibility to use the prototype load cell as a force sensor of prestressed concrete tendons.

Behavior of wall and nearby tunnel due to deformation of strut of braced wall using laboratory model test (실내모형시험을 통한 흙막이벽체 버팀대 변형에 따른 흙막이벽체 및 인접터널의 거동)

  • If a problem occurs in the strut during the construction of the braced wall, they may cause excessive deformation of the braced wall. Therefore, in this study, the behavior of the braced wall and existing tunnel adjacent to excavation were investigated assuming that the support function of strut is lost during construction process. For this purpose, a series of model test was performed. As a result of the study, the earth pressure in the ground behind wall was rearranged due to the deformation of the braced wall, and the ground displacements caused the deformation of adjacent tunnels. When the struts located on the nearest side wall from the tunnel were removed, the deformation of the braced wall and the tunnel deformation were the largest. The magnitude of transferred earth pressure depended on the location of tunnel. The increase of the cover depth of tunnel from 0.65D to 2.65D caused the increase of the earth pressure by 25.6%. As the distance between braced wall and tunnel was increased from 0.5D to 1.0D, the transferred earth pressure increased by 16% on average. Horizontal displacements of braced wall by the removal of the strut tended to concentrate around the removed struts, and the horizontal displacement increased as the strut removal position is lowered. The tunnel displacement was maximum, when the cover depth of tunnel was 1.15D and the horizontal distance between braced wall and the side of tunnel was 0.5D. The minimal displacement occurred, when the cover depth of tunnel was 2.65D and the horizontal distance between braced wall and the side of tunnel was 1.0D. The difference between the maximum displacement and the minimum displacement was about 2 times, and the displacement was considered to be the largest when it was in the range of 1.15D to 1.65D and the horizontal distance of 0.5D.

Utilization of Induced Polarization and Electrical Resistivity for Identifying Rock Condition (유도분극 전하 충전성과 전기비저항을 활용한 암반 상태 파악 가능성 연구)

  • This study examines how rock condition affects the variation of the chargeability and electrical resistivity of the rock. In the theoretical study, the relationship correlating chargeability with the variables affecting it is derived. A parametric study utilizing the derived relationship reveals that the size of narrow pores ($r_1$) is the most influential factor on chargeability, and the salinity of pore water ($C_0$) is the second. In the laboratory experiments, small scale rock fracturing zone is modelled using sand stone. Chargeability and resistivity are measured by changing the size of the joint aperture, the location of fractured zone and the existence of clay gouge and/or clay layer which shows lower chargeability than the sand stone layer in the multi-layered ground. Test results show that chargeability is controlled not by the rock fracturing condition but by the size of narrow pore ($r_1$) where each line of current flow passes through. Also, the chargeability decreases with increase of the pore water salinity ($C_0$). In conclusion, the ground condition can be identified more efficiently by measuring the induced polarization along with the electrical resistivity; identifying the existence of sea water, the layered ground and/or the fractured rock becomes more reliable.

Characteristics of Edgetones by Jet-Cylinder Interaction (분류와 원통에 의해 발생하는 쐐기소리의 특성)

  • 분류가 모서리에 충돌할 때 발생하는 순음성 소리인 쐐기소리(edgetone)는 공력음향의 대표적인 현상으로서 지금까지 수많은 연구가 있어 왔으며 그 대부분의 특성이 규명되었다고 할 수 있다. 쐐기소리의 발생기구인 되먹임(feedback) 이론을 처음으로 제안한 이는 Powell로서 그는 되먹임사이클의 위상조건에 의하여 주파수특성에 관한 모델을 제안하였으며, 최근 그 모델의 위상인자에 관하여 Kwon은 새로운 값을 제안한 바 있다. 그런데, 쐐기소리의 이론은 주로 분류가 쐐기나 벽에 충돌할 경우에 집중되어 왔으며 분류가 원통에 충돌하여 발생하는 경우에 관한 연구는 Krothapalli의 초음속분류에 관한 연구와 Mochizuki등의 아음속분류에서 원통지름의 영향에 관한 연구를 들 수 있을 뿐이다. Mochizuki등은 원통의 지름이 노즐의 높이보다 작은 경우에 쐐기 소리의 주파수가 원통의 와류이탈(vortex shedding) 주파수와 같은 것을 관찰하였다. 그러나 분류와 원통이 작용하여 발생하는 쐐기소리의 주파수 특성에 관한 이론적 해석을 시도한 연구는 없으며 또한 방사음장의 특성에 관하여도 Han과 Kwon에 의한 모델이 발표된 바 있으나 실험적으로 입증되지 못하였다. 따라서, 본 연구의 목적은 2 fig.1과 같이 2차원 분류가 원통에 충돌할 때 발생하는 쐐기소리의 주파수특성의 정량적인 모델을 세우고 방사음장의 지향특성의 이론 모델을 확립하는 것이다. 먼저 주파수특성을 실험하고 되먹임이론을 적용하여 분석하므로써 유효음원의 위치를 구하고 또한, 수직벽에 작용하여 발생하는 충돌음(impinging tone)의 경우를 실험하여 주파수특성을 비교 고찰하므로써 유효음원의 위치에 관한 이론을 입증한다. 아울러 원통과 평면벽의 각 경우에 방사음장의 지향특성을 측정하고 고찰한다.2,5,6]을 단계별로 고찰하여, 점점 까다로워져 가는 선박 진동규제[3,4]에 대처하고 승무원의 안락성에 대한 욕구, 구조물의 안전성, 장비의 성능보존이 만족되는 저진동 선박의 건조를 위해 향후 해결해야할 과제들을 도출하여 선박진동분야이 연구개발 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 하는 것은 진단의 정밀도에 문제가 있을 것으로 생각된다. 따라서 언어적진리치가 도입되어 [상당히 확실], [확실], [약간 확실] 등의 언어적인 표현을 이용하여 애매성을 표현하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 간이진단 결과로부터 추출된 애매한 진단결과중에서 가장 가능성이 높은 이상원인을 복수로 선정하고, 여러 종류의 수치화할 수 없는 언어적(linguistic)인 정보ㄷㄹ을 if-then 형식의 퍼지추론으로 종합하는 회전기계의 이상진단을 위한 정밀진단 알고리즘을 제안하고 그 유용성을 검토한다. 존재하여도 모우드 변수들을 항상 정확하게 구할 수 있으며, 또한 알고리즘의 안정성이 보장된 것이다.. 여기서는 실험실 수준의 평 판모델을 제작하고 실제 현장에서 이루어질 수 있는 진동제어 구조물에 대 한 동적실험 및 FRS를 수행하는 과정과 동일하게 따름으로써 실제 발생할 수 있는 오차나 error를 실험실내의 차원에서 파악하여 진동원을 있는 구조 물에 대한 진동제어기술을 보유하고자 한다. 이용한 해마의 부피측정은 해마경화증 환자의 진단에 있어 육안적인 MR 진단이 어려운 제한된 경우에만 실제적 도움을 줄 수 있는 보조적인 방법으로 생각된다.ofile whereas relaxivity at high field is not affected by τS. Geostatistical Integrated Analysis of MASW and CPTu data for Assessment of Soft Ground (연약지반 평가를 위한 MASW탐사와 CPTu 자료의 지구통계학적 복합 분석)

  • In order to delineate the soft ground distribution, an integrated geostatistical analysis was performed using the MASW (Multichannel Analysis of Surface Wave) which has the information of overall region and CPTu (Piezo Cone Penetration Test) which provides the direct information of the measuring point of the ground. MASW results were known to have close relationship with the ground stiffness. This correlation was confirmed through the comparison of MASW data obtained from two survey lines to the laboratory test with extracted soil samples. 3D physical property distribution in the study area was acquired by geostatistical integrated analysis with the data of tip resistance ($q_c$) and pore pressure (u) from the CPTu obtained at 6 points within the study area. The integrated analysis was conducted by applying the COSGSIM (Sequential Gaussian Co-Simulation) technology which can carry out the simulation in accordance with the spatial correlation between the MASW results and both tip resistance and pore pressure. Besides the locations of CPTu, borehole investigations were also conducted at two different positions. As a result, the N value of SPT and borehole log could be secured, so these data were used for the analysis of the geotechnical engineering accuracy of the integrated analysis result. For the verification of reliability of the 3D distribution of tip resistance and pore pressure secured through integrated analysis, the geotechnical information gained from the two drilling areas was compared, and the result showed extremely high correlation.

A Study on the Development of a Home Mess-Cleanup Robot Using an RFID Tag-Floor (RFID 환경을 이용한 홈 메스클린업 로봇 개발에 관한 연구)

  • An autonomous and automatic home mess-cleanup robot is newly developed in this paper. Thus far, vacuum-cleaners have lightened the burden of household chores but the operational labor that vacuum-cleaners entail has been very severe. Recently, a cleaning robot was commercialized to solve but it also was not successful because it still had the problem of mess-cleanup, which pertained to the clean-up of large trash and the arrangement of newspapers, clothes, etc. Hence, we develop a new home mess-cleanup robot (McBot) to completely overcome this problem. The robot needs the capability for agile navigation and a novel manipulation system for mess-cleanup. The autonomous navigational system has to be controlled for the full scanning of the living room and for the precise tracking of the desired path. It must be also be able to recognize the absolute position and orientation of itself and to distinguish the messed object that is to be cleaned up from obstacles that should merely be avoided. The manipulator, which is not needed in a vacuum-cleaning robot, has the functions of distinguishing the large trash that is to be cleaned from the messed objects that are to be arranged. It needs to use its discretion with regard to the form of the messed objects and to properly carry these objects to the destination. In particular, in this paper, we describe our approach for achieving accurate localization using RFID for home mess-cleanup robots. Finally, the effectiveness of the developed McBot is confirmed through live tests of the mess-cleanup task.

Removal Efficiency of Pollutants in Agricultural Wastewater by Constructed Wetlands on Reclaimed Land in the Goheung Bay (고흥만 간척지 내 인공습지에 의한 농경배수 정화효율에 관한 연구)

  • This research was conducted at the constructed wetland in Goheung reclaimed land, and water quality components were measured at the 12 points in 15 March 2008 and 10 January 2009, respectively. Temperature, pH, DO, EC and salinity components were measured at the field, and TOC, Cl-, COD, TSS, T-P and TN components were analyzed laboratory. Concentrations of field measured components at inflow points were higher than in constructed wetland. TOC concentration ratio of inflow water to constructed wetland water was higher in January, and Cl concentration ratio of it was higher in March. And, COD concentration ratio of it were 1.37 for March and 1.49 for January, respectively. T-P and T-N concentration ratios of it at inflow points were higher 3 times than in constructed wetland. Constructed wetland attenuated concentration of contaminated components inflow to it. Removal efficiencies of Cl-, T-P and T-N components in inflow water were high at the constructed wetland. removal efficiencies of Cl component were 83% for 1st monitoring and 76% for 2nd monitoring, this removal efficiency be caused by dilution effect of constructed wetland. removal efficiencies of T-P component were 67% for 1st monitoring and 69% for 2nd monitoring, and they of T-N component were 100% for 1st monitoring and 95% for 2nd monitoring. Abnormal removal efficiency of T-N component is caused that nitrogen in inflow water was a little. Removal efficiency of T-P component was higher in January, and T-N component was higher in March. This is caused by environmental difference between growing season and winter.

An Analysis of Geophysical and Temperature Monitoring Data for Leakage Detection of Earth Dam (흙댐의 누수구역 판별을 위한 물리탐사와 온도 모니터링 자료의 해석)

  • Both multi-channel temperature monitoring and geophysical electric survey were performed together for an embankment to assess the leakage zone. Temperature variation according to space and time on the inner parts of engineering constructions (e.g.: dam and slope) can be basic information for diagnosing their safety problem. In general, as constructions become superannuated, structural deformation (e.g.: cracks and defects) could be generated by various factors. Seepage or leakage of water through the cracks or defects in old dams will directly cause temperature anomaly. This study shows that the position of seepage or leakage in dam body can be detected by multi-channel temperature monitoring using thermal line sensor. For that matter, diverse temperature monitoring experiments for a leakage physical model were performed in the laboratory. In field application of an old earth fill dam, temperature variations for water depth and for inner parts of boreholes located at downstream slope were measured. Temperature monitoring results for a long time at the bottom of downstream slope of the dam showed the possibility that temperature monitoring can provide the synthetic information about flowing path and quantity of seepage of leakage in dam body. Geophysical data by electrical method are also added to help interpret data.

  • This article investigates intelligent security integrated platform for real-time crime response and preventive crime prevention. This study analyzed intelligent crime prevention platform elements by analyzing crime prevention system/platform research, intelligent crime prevention research, and case study of municipality integrated operation center crime prevention system. Through this, we developed a practical intelligent security platform, and suggested a linkage with existing municipalities and smart city integrated platform system considering scalability. This enables CCTV monitoring, which is used only for existing post processing, to cope with real-time crime. It is expected that it will be able to solve the incidents in golden-time by grasping the precise position of the complainant not only in the outdoor but also indoors. It is also possible to provide citizen-centered crime-prevention social safety net information sharing service by enhancing citizen participation as well as improving control efficiency. The intelligent security platform has advantages that it is easy to spread the municipality because it is developed considering existing municipal system, smart city integration platform, and linkage and expansion with other security services.

The Design of IoT-based Drive Through Service System for Customers in Distribution Stores (대형 유통매장의 고객을 위한 IoT기반 드라이브 스루 서비스 시스템 설계)

  • Recently, the retail industry has created efficient store operations, and has differentiated customer service through the future store. The intelligence of these stores is being applied by using technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), and the business process is being improved through this. The process also focuses on efficient store operations and service developments to provide customers with shopping convenience. The change in trends in the industry means that domestic distribution has already reached maturity. Even in countries where retail industries are mature, such as the U.S. and Europe, recent trends are moving toward maximizing operational efficiency and customer service. The reason is that many retailers have already reached saturation and survived the competition. This paper is a study of a drive-through service for automation and efficiency in receiving service after ordering by a customer of the distribution store. When ordering a product being purchased by a customer, the product picking process is done in a timely fashion through a picking scheduling agent. When the customer enters the store parking lot, a service supports the entry of information and finding a parking place so the customer can quickly pick up the goods. The proposed service can be applied to a retail store drive-through system, the distribution store's delivery system, the digital picking system, and indoor/outdoor large parking management systems, and it is possible to provide one-dimensional customer service through the application of IoT technology.
