  • In this paper, With the development of modern science and technology are Sheds to stay indoors rather than outdoors space it increased significantly compared to the past. And a wide variety of research about outdoor air quality until recently, efforts are underway but the issue of air quality in the room is the fact that all considered relatively lightly. As the contamination of the room air is polluted, unlike the natural environment, a large outdoor air dilution rate, the dilution rate is very low, once the contaminated air continuously circulating exerts a very bad influence on the health of people staying in the room. In this study, movement characteristics of the person living in a room, the air measuring device for the study of the active indoor environmental control system reflects the life form to measure the quality of the measured air in real time for transmitting the information to the user of the smart devices, alarm bot It was implemented and operational applications.

Measurement and Analysis of Indoor Thermal Environment in Passenger Car (철도차량 객차내 온열환경 측정 분석)

  • The Ministry of Environment established a guide line Indoor Air Quality Management guidelines in Public Facilities in December 2006. As the items of the guideline, $CO_2$ (Carbon dioxide) and PM10 (Particulate matter). Therefore trains and subway need to control air quality. The indoor thermal environment in passenger car is very important for the enhancement of the amenity and health of passengers. Many researchers have studied it not for train but for building. So, in this study, we have performed thermal environment in passenger car (KTX, Mugunghwa, Saemaeul), and verified the relation between the PMV (Predicted Mean Vote) and PPD (Predicted Percent Dissatisfied) from September to October 2007. As a result, the average PMV value for each trains are 0.1, 0.22 for KTX, 0 for Mugunghwa, 0.1 for Saemaeul. So it satisfies the ASHRAE Handbook thermal environmental limit (-0.5 < PMV < +0.5).

A Subjective Symptom Level and Satisfaction Factor by Indoor Air Quality According to Ventilation System in Dental Clinic (치과병·의원 환기방법에 따른 실내공기질 자각증상 수준 및 근무환경 만족요인)

  • This study was designed to identify a subjective symptom level by Indoor air according to ventilation system in Dental Clinic. The number of respondents was 582 who work in dental clinic and period of investigation was October 2010 through January 2011. A structured questionnaire was employed to evaluate the level of participants' sociodemographics, job-related factors, work place condition, a subjective symptom. Most of respondents were answered that time for symptom to begin was at around 2 P.M. and time for symptom to feel serve pain was at around 3 P.M. and ventilation frequency per a day was often in case of individual cooling and heating system. More often natural ventilation and in case of individual cooling and heating system, the level of subject symptom was low and multiple regression analysis has found that indoor air quality related elements were main factors that influence to the feeling of satisfaction in work place. The results of this study suggest that more often natural ventilation was very important to reduce the level of subjective symptom. Thus, a management program for indoor air quality is strongly recommended by natural ventilation, maintenance man for promotion of quality of life in dental hygienist and to improve dental service and competitiveness.

  • Recently, due to COV ID-19, many people are spending most of their time indoors. So, there is a rising interest on the indoor air quality in the field of building construction. The main sources for the indoor air pollution are human indoors activity, building materials, living supplies and the polluted air from outdoor. The Korean government has designated 17 indoor air pollutants including fine dust, total airborne bacteria, fungi and carbon dioxide, etc.. Most people are always exposed to assorted bacteria and molds in our daily life, because indoor environment for human, moderate temperature are humidity, it is favourable to the growth of most of bacteria and fungi. Pine needles have an antibacterial effect against bacteria and fungi. In this study, the antibacterial activity against bacteria and fungi was tested by cement matrix using pine needle extract. As a result, the cement matrix using pine needle extract showed antibacterial activities against bacteria, but in the case of fungi, it did not show antifungal activity.

  • 최근 들어, 열악한 실내 공기 환경과 미세 먼지의 유입으로 아토피 피부염, 알레르기성 비염 및 천식 등의 감염성 질환이 증가하고 있다. 따라서, 공기 중 병원균(Airborne pathogens)을 친환경적으로 제거하는 기술이 요구되고 있는 추세이다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 시스템은 물을 이용하여 플라즈마를 발생시키는 시스템이다. 기존 플라즈마를 이용한 공기 정화 장치는 공기를 사용하여 플라즈마를 발생시키므로 오존과 같은 인체에 유해한 물질들이 발생되는 문제점이 있다. 하지만, 본 연구에서는 물을 사용하여 플라즈마를 발생시키므로 활성 라디칼들이 포함된 물을 미스트 형태로 분사하여 인체에 무해하며, 대기 중 병원균 살균이 가능한 장점이 있다. 물 플라즈마 젯 분사장치는 전원 공급 장치, 플라즈마 전극 그리고 플라즈마 노즐로 이루어져 있으며 주입되는 물을 기반으로 플라즈마를 발생시킨다. 장치의 특성을 분석하기 위하여, 오실로스코프로 전압 및 전류를 측정하였고 적정법을 이용하여 생성되는 활성 라디칼들의 농도를 측정하였다. 또한 살균 능력을 평가하기 위하여 병원균 중 대표적으로 대장균을 배양하여 살균 실험을 수행하였으며, 결과적으로 90% 이상의 대장균이 사멸하는 것을 확인하였다.

  • For modern people who lack the time, the plants became more interested as they gave emotional stability and proved the purifying function of plants from harmful substances such as fine dust. In this study, we established a standard vegetation cultivation system that can easily grow indoors without any special knowledge, based on criteria such as temperature, soil humidity, and illumination. And we implemented a system that provides simple information needed for plant management by using Bluetooth function and provides contents that can get know-how necessary for plant management.

  • This paper presents a system-independent mobile smart shelter using solar energy technology that can be freely installed in various places, such as parks, countryside, event area, construction area and walking tour places where the system power are difficult to use. The proposed smart shelter is equipped with solar power generation and energy storage devices that is combined with IoT technology to collect indoor and outdoor humidity, fine dust and tourist awareness in real time. It is possible to efficiently manage energy by performing the optimal energy operation during the heat- wave, cold-wave situation and the presence of travelers and it is possible to serve as a shelter for as long as possible without system power.

Laboratory/Field evaluation and calibration method of low-cost PM sensor for indoor PM2.5, PM10 measurement (실내 미세먼지 측정을 위한 저가형 PM 센서의 실험실/현장 평가 및 보정 방법)

  • Recently, low-cost particulate matter (PM) sensors have been widely used in monitoring mass concentration. Maintaining the accuracy of the sensors is important and requires rigorous performance evaluation and calibration. In this study, two commercial low-cost PM sensors(LCS), Plantower PMS3003 and Plantower PMS7003, were evaluated in the laboratory and field with a reference-grade PM monitor (GRIMM 11-D). Laboratory evaluation was conducted with single/mixed particles of PSL (Poly Styrene Latex) in an acrylic chamber at 20℃ and relative humidity of 20%. Field evaluation was conducted inside a building of Yonsei University (Shinchon) from February 12 to March 31, 2022. In both evaluations, LCS measured values became different from reference measured values when the relative humidity was high or the outdoor air PM10/PM2.5 ratio was high. Based on the field evaluation, the LCS measured values were corrected through four different regression analysis models. As a result, the multivariate polynomial regression analysis model showed highest matching with the reference PM monitor (PM2.5 >0.9, PM10 >0.85). In this model, the PM10/PM2.5 ratio and relative humidity were chosen as independent variables.

  • In order to solve problems such as acceleration of resource use and environmental pollution, experiments were conducted with the aim of producing indoor finishing materials that can adsorb fine dust and carbon dioxide using gelite and polymer, which are porous materials. Based on the previous experiment, gelite was substituted at each level in a matrix having a polymer S738P substitution rate of 12.5%, and the results are as follows. As the substitution rate of gelite increased, the amount of fine dust and carbon dioxide adsorption increased, which is believed to be due to physical adsorption due to the high porosity of gelite. However, further experiments are needed as the overall adsorption amount is not high due to the filling inside the matrix due to the polymer.

  • For modern people who spend 80% of the day indoors, indoor air quality is an important factor in their lives. Radon and fine dust, which are indoor air quality pollutants, cause various diseases and lung diseases, so a method is needed to reduce them. Therefore, this study intends to utilize the air pollutant adsorption properties of the carbonized sludge by using the carbonized sludge generated through drying and carbonization of the sludge. As a result of the experiment, it was shown that the concentration of radon and fine dust gradually decreased as the replacement ratio of carbonized sludge increased. The reason is that the carbonized sludge has the ability to adsorb fine dust and radon, so it is considered that it gradually decreases as the replacement ratio increases. Also, the compressive strength and flexural strength tend to decrease gradually. The reason for this is that the carbonized sludge has a number of internal voids, and as the replacement ratio increases, the internal voids increase and the strength decreases. If the refinement and strength of the carbonized sludge replacement ratio are supplemented, it is believed that it will be able to replace the existing finishing materials.
