Korean society is changing into aged society with the speed which has never happened by other countries before. This has been the consequence of low birthrate and Increase in life expectancy. However, such social problem result in many studies on elderly environment. The purpose of this study is to systematically analyze empirical studies on elderly environment in Korea, find out research streaming and understand social backgrounds. For this study, content analysis was conducted. Articles of 4 registered academic institute published from 1986 to 2005 were units of analysis. Using keyword through library database systems, the articles were systematically selected. As results, trends of research according to 4 periods were identified. Among them as major trends, expansion of the quantity, expansion to Intoner design, more facilities for dependent elderly appeared. This result showed implications on interior design education and research for aging friendly design.

The development of data communication and network technology has brought a change to various communications through the internet. Regarding the stable internet service, corporations and Individuals came to require an internet data center in which there is computer equipment and network devices available 24 hours everyday. The internet data center is now on a large scale in its structure and facility, suitable for the internet environment that is under development in various dimensions, and effective for task support, stable facility, capable of space expansion and flexibility, and easiness in ease of maintenance and management, etc. The monitoring center of the data center which is one of the core facilities in the center, special space elements and functions as well as a function of task space are to be put into consideration additionally. This study was to present a proposal for the space elements and environmental design of a monitoring center, which could create an efficient and comfortable room.

Recently, hospital architecture has acknowledged remedial value of environment and atmosphere, which consider patient's statement of physical, spiritual, psychological and social focus, escape from the past focus of functional and rational space composition. The many research of hospital architecture just analyze elements of architectural planing which focus how to make a healing environment for patients. The purpose of this study is to abstract the design principle of architectural space composition for healing environment significance, through case study which follow up space composition. To abstract healing environment significance by space composition, each case study hospitals should be analyzed and estimated on the spatial composition elements. It is to provide the basic data for effective architectural planning of the hospital.

As society and culture becomes complicated and diverse, so do the ensuing problems. The symptoms from the stress there was mainly focused on the adult group, however, now, they are shown in children. So the play therapy attracts attention as a way to cure stress. This study is intend to analysis an environment of play therapy space which would play an active role during treatment through the understanding of children's playing behavior. Disable children's playing therapy and pattern should be considered in the playing environmental design, and their feelings also need to be considered. The cozy and relaxed environment is important to children, so that they can have a natural interaction with the environment during the therapies. Output the factor of environment for play therapy and suggest the space of play therapy which fit on it.

This project was planned to construct the healing environment in medical clinic. The concepts of design were extracted from the literatures on this subject, and reflected on the output of design. The main concepts for the healing environment consisted of light, control of privacy and communication, efficiency, comfort, and identity. As a result the healing values had been realized in this medical clinic with design concepts, and we expected that they would provide users of this clinic with well-being society.

Nowadays, large-scale office buildings have been multistoried, mechanized, and functioned with economic growth. These buildings have improved and developed technical and designated respects in varied society. Even though these buildings are in improved situation, working places which are one of the most important parts have not developed enough their functions and shapes. Working environments that were ignored have come a big issue to rise efficiency and productivity. Working functions and work's opinions did not examine and analyze because of careless cognition of working places. In these reason, workers are engaged in inconvenient surroundings that already set improper way or not to develope environments that obstructs productivity. Working places which were ignored in the past have come a big issue to rise productivity and efficiency. Now, the goal of this research is to reform working places more efficient and functional by examining by examining working environment and proper arrangements.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the relationship between the exhibits layout and the spatial organization in exhibition spaces. As an analytical method, the space syntax theory devised by Bill Hillier(1984) was applied for analysing the potential differentiation of exhibition spaces and remodeling method in Seoul City Museum selected for case study. The results are as following. Especially from the convex analysis, axial analysis and exhibits(interpretation); 1) the closed spatial system(1F) has high visibility and high intelligibility in hall area but lacks route continuity, 2) the circulated spatial system(2F) has low global visibility but offers high intelligibility and connectivity due to its coercive circulation, 3) and the organization of exhibition design consists in differentiating space that reintegrates them into another spatial order. Therefore, there process are expected to provide a methodological framework for analysing and interpreting spatial organizations of design, leading to the clear explanation of remodeling.

This study intends to analyze the various spatial structures of the Seoul city museum with reference to the layouts and the qualitative mode of exhibition items. Understanding the way of actual exhibition design can be a clue to understand the contents of exhibition story which guarantees to make the pertinent space and visitors route organization between different levels of architectural space and exhibition space. Nowadays, according to many studies, indoor space's pollution level is two to ten times higher than outdoor space's. This result arouses our attention. The major causes of deterioration of indoor air quality are the lack of ventilation caused by draught-proofing and insulation construction, and harmful chemical substances emitted from building materials, office machine and furniture. Therefore, we are continuing research to find the method for healthful house and production of many forms of well-being goods. However, because of exaggerated advertisements and the lack of accurate information, consumers choose the products whose performance is not verified. Therefore, this study investigates the actual conditions of pollution by building materials and the extent of the health damage by this pollution, and suggests the method for minimizing indoor pollution in aspect of indoor environment control and the use of environment friendly materials. But the building materials presented in this study are limited to the environment friendly construction materials that are in circulation In domestic market because this research is primarily aimed to give domestic consumers the standard for selecting this materials.

본 연구는 장애인을 고려한 환경구축의 최종목표를 가지고 있는 일련의 연구흐름 중 가장 초기단계의 연구로써 장애인의 접근.이동성에 관하여 규정하고 있는 현행 국내법규를 분석하고 평가하는 것이다. 이를 위해 현행법에서 접근.이동성과 직접적 연관을 가지고 있는 실내구성요소­개구부, 복도 및 통로, 계단, 장애인용 승강기, 장애인용 에스컬레이터, 경사로-를 선정하여 연구코자하며, 객관적인 평가를 위해 각 실내구성요소별로 과거의 법규 및 2가지 관련 기준안과 비교.분석하였다.그 결과, 현행법은 장애인을 위한 편의시설 설치 의무조항을 추가하고 대상 시설을 확대하는 등 환경개선의 의지를 보임으로써 장애인의 사회참여를 유도하고자 하였다. 그러나 각 구성요소의 세부기준들이 극히 최소의 치수로 규정되어 있고 장애를 보완시켜 줄 기타 디자인 고려사항들이 언급되어 있지 않다. 또한 장애유형별 특성이 충분히 고려되지 않아 장애인들이 실질적으로 실내환경에 접근.이동하는데 무리가 따를 수 있을 것으로 보인다. 따라서 향후에는 장애인의 의견이 폭넓게 수렴된 기준을 설정하여 질적인 향상을 도모해야 할 것이며 선진복지국가들의 장애인관련 법률 및 규범을 분석.연구함으로써 우리실정에 맞게 접목시키는 노력도 잇따라야 할 것이다.
