As the reutilizing method of exhausted screen, authors used it as a filter and compared with the aluminium filtration. The results are as followed; 1. One sheet of gadolinium front screen has the same radiation absorption as $2.8{\sim}3.3\;mm$ Al equivalent and regular tungsten screen $2.3{\sim}2.7mm$ Al. 2. HVL after Gd-screen filtration was less than the values after aluminium and tungsten-screen filtration. And, image definition with Gd-screen filtration was better than other two cases. Ana surface dose to produce a same film density was more than other two cases. It will be very useful to apply, Gd-screen filter in clinics as it has no deficiency of image quality.

Median frequency can be regarded as a valid indicator of local muscle fatigue. As local muscle fatigue develops, the muscle fiber conduction velocity decreases, the fast twitch fibers are recruited less, and consequently the median frequency shifts toward the lower frequency area. The aim of this study was to test the characteristics of the median frequency according to exercise load (30% and 60% of MVC on the biceps brachii, 40% and 80% of MVC on the vastus lateralis) during the fatiguing isometric exercise. Thirteen healthy male volunteer students of Yonsei University were recruited. After the testing maximal voluntary isometric contraction, three variables (initial median frequency, regression slope, fatigue index) from the regression line of MDF data were measured in each exercise load. The results showed that the regression slope and fatigue index were significantly different for the biceps brachii, but not for the vastus lateralis initial MDF was not significant difference according to the exercise load on both muscles. The regression slope and fatigue index could monitor physiologic muscle change during fatiguing isometric exercise. The results showed that two MDF variables reflect the local muscle fatigue according to the exercise load.

Validation and contents determination of (+)-catechin and diosgenin from Smilax china L. rhizome (SC) were confirmed using Ultra-Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC). (+)-Catechin was isolated from 60% prethanol SC extract and diosgenin was isolated by acid hydrolysis of saponin fraction from 60% prethanol extract of SC. Finally we have established the validation of the isolated compounds [(+)-catechin, diosgenin] and contents determinations of (+)-catechin and diosgenin by UPLC on 60% prethanol extract of SC [(+)-catechin: 0.06878%, diosgenin: 0.48169%], and on hot water extract of SC [(+)-catechin: 0.06584%, diosgenin: 0.42178%].

정신한은행은 '10년 1 월부터 6월까지 약 6개월 동안 "위험관리 기반의 침해사고 조기 대응체계 구축" 프로젝트를 수행하여 침해 시도 조기 탐지 및 대응을 위한 "침해사고 조기 경보 시스템" 및 "침해 사고 대응 프로세스 전산화"와 침해 사고의 사전 예방 강화를 위한 "정보시스템 상시 취약점 점검 체계"를 모두 하나의 프레임웍으로 묶어 통합 구축하였다. 신한은행은 이를 통해 내부망 및 인터넷 서비스망에 대해서 이마 알려진 네트웍 침입 패턴뿐만 아니라 네트웍 트래픽 전반에 대한 모니터링을 대폭 강화하여 기존 침입탐지 시스템이나 디도스 대응 시스템 등에서 탐지가 불가능했던 신종 침입 유형이나 소규모 디도스 공격 트래픽도 자동화된 탐지가 가능하게 되었다. 그리고 탐지된 침입시도의 유행 및 위험 수준에 따라서 사전 정의된 침해사고 대응 프로세스를 통해, 정보보안 담당자가 관련 부서 및 경영진의 요구사항에 각각 최적화된 전용 상황 모니터링 화면을 공유하며 침해사고를 효과적으로 공동 대응할 수 있게 되었다. 또한 정보시스템 전반에 대하여 상시 취약점 점검을 실시하고 그 점검 결과를 데이터베이스로 구축하고 정보시스템의 위험 수준에 따른 체계화된 대응 방안을 수립할 수 있게 되었다. 신한은행은 금번 구축된 시스템을 정보보안 영역 전반으로 확대하여 동일 프레임웍에서 위험관리 기반의 내부 정보 유출 체계를 구축하고, 향후 그룹사에도 확대 적용하여 전체 그룹사의 보안 수준을 제고하는 데 활용할 계획이다. * 금번 구축 사례에서 소개된 침해사고 조기 대응체계는 구축 완료 시점에 사내 명칭 공모를 통해 "Ageis"로 선정되었으며, 본 사례에서도 전체 시스템을 가리킬 때 Ageis로 지칭한다. Aegis는 그라스 신화에서 Zeus 신이 딸 Athena 신에게 주었다는 방패로서 보호, 후원, 지도 등의 뜻을 가지며, 이지스 또는 아이기스 라고 발음된다.

Ethanol extracts from Xanthii Fructus (XFE) and Prunellae Spica (PSE) were investigated for the effects on the induction of cancer chemoprevention-associated enzymes. The following effects were measured: (a) induction of quinone reductase (QR) (b) induction of glutathione S-transferase (GST) (c) reduced glutathione (GSH) level. XFE and PSE were potent inducers of quinone reductase activity in Hepa1c1c7 murine hepatoma cells. Glutathione levels were increased with XFE and PSE. In addition, glutathione S-transferase activity was increased with XFE. However, GST activity was not increased with PSE. These results suggest that XFE and PSE have chemopreventive potentials by inducing quinone reductase and increasing GSH levels.

In this study, carbon conversion was measured using an electronic mass balance. In a lab scale furnace, each coal sample was pyrolyzed in a nitrogen environment and became coal char, which was then gasified with steam under isothermal conditions. The reactivity of coal char was investigated at various temperatures and steam concentrations. The VRM(volume reaction model), SCM(shrinking core model), and RPM(random pore model) were used to interpret experimental data. For each model the activation energy(Ea), pre-exponential factor (A), and reaction order(n) of the coal char-steam reaction were determined by applying the Arrhenius equation into the data obtained with thermo-gravimetric analysis(TGA). According to this study, it was found that experimental data agreed better with the VRM and SCM for 1,000 and $1,100^{\circ}C$, and the RPM for 1,200 and $1,300^{\circ}C$. The reactivity of chars increased with the increase of gasification temperature. The structure parameter(${\psi}$) of the surface area for the RPM was obtained.

Single screen-film systems have been used to soft tissue radiography, especially to mammo-graphy, for the Purpose of reducing patient dose, Recently, by the development of rare earth screens, they are being used to general radiography including stomach radiography. Single screen-film systems have lower speeds, but higher resolutions than double screen-film systems. And so, they can produce high image quality in oblique radiography and tomography. Authors have tested basic and physical characteristics of sigle screen-film systems, and applied them in clinical fields. Hereupon, we evaluate the sin91e rare earth screen-film systems very practicable, because they have higher speeds and higher image quality than double screen-film systems.

Authors have investigated actual conditions of 22 hospitals throughout the Seoul district to evaluate of chest radiographic systems. The results are as followed: 1. Concerning exposure factors, most hospitals have used low tube voltage, merely two hospitals high tube voltage, that is, over 120 kVp. Roughly halves of intensifying screens have been used in hospitals were medium speed screens, and the rests were high speed screens. 2, Surface doses existed within wide range of $10{\sim}63.5mR$, and image quality value were $5.60{\sim}7.49$. 3. The minimum perceptibility of Burger Phantom have been increased with contrast improvement.

Postmodern American science fiction authors often dramatize the human fear and hope for the newly emerging artificial life forms. For example, Helen as an advanced artificial intelligence Richard Power's Galatea 2.2 shows that the student's memorizing efforts for exams can be useless someday. In Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash machines are liable to be infected with viruses like human bodies. In He, She and It, Piercy's parallel of an artificial human (Yod) and a mythic personification (Golem) allegorically reveals the pandora-like unpredictable effect of advanced technology. More than the mechanical entities (the diffusion and linear models for Latour), these biologically artificial entities reveal the limitations of even the fantastically idealized technology simply because the human being as the creators or impersonators of these machines are not perfect. Compared to illustrative mechanism, biologically artificial entities (Latour's transition or whirlwind models) are inherently rebellious because of their closeness to the creators. The Butler's organic environmental interaction of the Earthseed convincingly demonstrates how the wrong use of science ruins the holy earth and also how human beings survive through the right use of effective science with the aid of anthroposophy.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of functional strengthening exercise on static and dynamic standing balance in a child with cerebral palsy. The subject was a 7 year old boy with diplegia whose Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM) score was 80% along with G1 of the lower extremities in Modified Ashworth Scale. The subject was ambulatory with some degree of limitation and demonstrated muscle weakness and strength asymmetry in the lower extremities. A changing criterion design for a single-subject research was used for this study. The functional strengthening exercise consisted of lower extremity ergometer exercise and knee exercise with grading movement in standing position, each for 20 minutes, which lasted 18 sessions for 6 weeks. A knee extensor strength test on both extremities and standing balance test were conducted after each functional strengthening exercise. Two types of standing balance were tested: one leg stance test and functional reach test. One leg stance test was to evaluate static standing balance, and functional reach test was to evaluate dynamic standing balance. The results showed that the functional strengthening exercise had some positive effects on improvement of both static and dynamic standing balance, and there was a positive correlation between the knee strength and standing balance.
