  • This paper relates to the blind noise separation method of time-delayed convolutive mixed signals. Since the mixed model of acoustic signals in a closed space is multi-channel, a convolutive blind signal separation method is applied and time-delayed data samples of the two microphone input signals is used. For signal separation, the mixing coefficient is calculated using an inverse model rather than directly calculating the separation coefficient, and the coefficient update is performed by repeated calculations based on secondary statistical properties to estimate the speech signal. Many simulations were performed to verify the performance of the proposed blind signal separation. As a result of the simulation, noise separation using this method operates safely regardless of convolutive mixing, and PESQ is improved by 0.3 points compared to the general adaptive FIR filter structure.

  • GPS signal delay that caused by dry gases and water vapor in troposphere is a main error source of GPS point positioning and it must be eliminated for precise point positioning. In this paper, we implemented to generate tropospheric delay grid map over the Korean Peninsula based on post-processing method by using the GPS permanent station network in order to determine the availability of tropospheric delay generation algorithm. GIPSY 5.0 was used for GPS data process and nationwide AWS observation network was used to calculate the amount of dry delay and wet delay separately. As the result of grid map's accuracy analysis, the RMSE between grid map data and GPS site data was 0.7mm in ZHD, 7.6mm in ZWD and 8.5mm in ZTD. After grid map accuracy analysis, we applied the calculated tropospheric delay grid map to single frequency relative positioning algorithm and analyzed the positioning accuracy enhancement. As the result, positioning accuracy was improved up to 36% in case of relative positioning of Suwon(SUWN) and Mokpo(MKPO), that the baseline distance is about 297km.

  • In this paper the super-resolution time delay estimation algorithms based on eigen-analysis are developed for spread spectrum signals along with their comparative performance analysis. First, we shall develop super-resolution time delay estimation algorithms using the representative eigen-analysis based AOA (angle-of-arrival) estimation algorithms such as MUSIC, Minimum-Norm, and ESPRIT, and apply them to the ISO/IEC 24730-2.1 real-time locating system (RTLS) employing a direct sequence spread spectrum (DS-SS) technique to compare their performances in RTLS environments. Simulation results illustrate that all the three algorithms can resolve multipath signals whose delay differences are even smaller than the Rayleigh resolution limit. Simulation results also show that MUSIC and Minimum-Norm provide a similar performance while ESPRIT is inferior to both algorithms in RTLS environments.

  • The new channel model for high data rate common data link(CDL) is proposed. The Two-ray channel, which is composed of the reflected signals on the front ground of the receiver, is considered in this paper. This channel arises due to the curvature of the earth when the altitude of the transmitter is tens of kilometers and distance between the transmitter and the receiver is hundreds of kilometers. The Two-ray channel is modeled by estimating the maximum delay profile and the power delay profile, depending on the transmitting and receiving beamforming angle and the radiation pattern of antenna. The power delay profile has a larger effect on the bit error rate(BER) over signal to noise ratio(SNR) than the maximum delay profile, because the distance range is too long in the proposed channel model.

  • We study the time resolved anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy with correlated pump and Stokes waves. When only two pump waves with relative delay are incident into a Raman medium, the Stokes waves generated by stimulated Raman scattering couple with the pump waves to generate anti-Stokes signal. Since the correlation between Stokes and the pump waves are not perfect and not quantified yet, we make a simple model fot it and calculate the normalized anti-Stokes signal intensities as a function of time delay. The broadband light regarded as chaotic field.

  • Multi-band and multi-mode transmitters are needed for SDR and CR. Recently many types of polar transmitters have been studied in order to implement a multi-band and multi-mode transmitter. Polar transmitters have many advantages, such as a simple structure, high efficiency and etc. In this paper we consider the number of D/A bit and the effects of a delay mismatch as design parameters for implementing polar transmitters. From the simulation we know that a 10 bit D/A is sufficient and a delay mismatch must be maintained small than 1/64 chip for satisfying the spectrum mask characteristics. We implement a polar transmitter based on the design parameters and the measured output signal meet the spectrum mask of 800MHz CDMA.

  • Although FHSS has many advantages over conventional digital radio communication system, field application has been so far hampered due to its complicated synchronization. In this paper, a new FHSS system is proposed which one FH signal modulated with GMSK and one chip delayed FH signal than former are sent from transmitter, and this is recovered by matching process at a heterodyne correlator in receiver; thus eliminates synchronization as a whole. Through analysis and experiment, we assure that there is possibility in this. The exper- imental result from 915~929 MHz bandwidth with 31 chips is investigated in the environment of AWGN.

  • In this paper, we have analyzed the block error probability of orthogonal multicarrier 16 QAM signal in a frequency selective Rician fading environment. The block error probability is evaluated with several parameters such as normalized propagation delay $(\gamma/T_S),$, bit energy to noise power ratio $(E_b/N_0),$ and desired signal to undesired signal power ratio (DUR) in fast fading and slow fading channels. In the fast fading channel, The result shows that the block error probability rather in the fast fading channel achieves better performance than in the slow fading channel, when the error correction capability is one or two.

  • In case implementation of microwave photonic (MWP) systems for phased array radars (PARs), noise and time delay error should be minimized to obtain accurate beam direction. Time delay error in MWP systems is generated from signal noise and timing jitter. In this paper, noise and timing jitter in MWP systems for PAR is researched, also according to the amplification of an erbium-doped fiber amplifier, noise and timing jitter variation is verified by an experiment. Timing jitter is decreased and SNR is increased if we amplify the signal by using an erbium-doped fiber amplifier, up to the amplification rate of signal and noise is similar.
