  • The techniques of intelligent interference cancellation are used for achieving the improvement of deterioration, which is arisen to the interoperable terminal(GSM and DVB-H). In this paper, we propose a novel system that improve the DVB-H received performance by using the method of an adaptive interference canceller for GSM900 and DVB-H terminal. The interference for the collocated GSM900 and DVB-H receiver is cancelled by using the adaptive canceller with the low-noise ADC(Analog to Digital Converter) in the RF stage.

  • Active noise control(ANC) is an approach to noise reduction in which a secondary noise source destructively interferes with the unwanted noise is introduced. Generally, the performance of ANC is determined how well a secondary noise tracks noises. A secondary noise is generated from the cancelling speaker and a error sensor pick up error signal. The transfer function between the cancelling speaker and the error sensor is not flat and distorts secondary noises. Consequently, the performance of ANC is degraded by the transfer function. In this paper, a single sensor ANC which considers the characteristics of the speaker and the error sensor is proposed. To reduce distortion of secondary noises, the transfer function is estimated by adaptive inverse modelling and the primary noises are estimated by Kalman filter. Experimental results show that the proposed single sensor ANC effectively attenuates noises.

  • Detection and localization of a slow and quiet target in shallow water environments is a challenging problem for which it is well known that snapshot is deficient because of a fast and strong interferer. This paper presents waveguide interference filtering technique that mitigate strong interferer problems in adaptive matched field processing. MCM (multiple constraint method) based on NDC (null direction constraint) has been proposed for new spatial interferer filter. MCM-NDC using replica force a interferer component to be filtered through CSDM (cross-spectral density matrix). This filtering have an effect on sidelobe reduction and restoring of signal gain of a quiet target. This technique was applied to a simulation on Pekeris waveguide and vertical array data from MAPLE03 (matched acoustic properties and localization experiment) in the East Sea and was shown to improve SBNR (signal-to-background-and-noise ratio) over the standard MVDR (minimum-variance distortionless response) and NSP (null space projection) technique.

  • The single sensor based acoustic reflection control system separates the incident and reflected signals from the single sensor output, and reduces the reflected signal by generating an out-of-phase signal from the incident signal component. In this paper, we propose an optimal filter design method for a single sensor based reflection control system. In the proposed method, it is shown that the optimum control filter design is possible by using the measured impulse responses of the reflection and control paths. The reflection control algorithm based on the proposed optimal filter achieves better performance than the conventional adaptive filter-based algorithm and effectively controls the reflection without the initial convergence time. We performed computer simulations using the signals obtained in a 1-dimensional acoustic duct environment, and from the simulation results, it was confirmed that the proposed optimal filter has robust performance even in noisy environment.

  • In order to remove the intersymbol interference(ISI) phenomenon in data transmission channel, the structure and convergence analysis of the improved multiplication free adaptive digital filter(IMADF) is presented. Under conditions of zero-mean, wide-sense stationary and white Gaussian noise, it is shown that this paper analyze the convergence characteristics of the IMADF with a fractionally-spaced equalizer(FSE). In the experimental results, the convergence characteristics of the IMADF algorithm is almost same as the sign algorithm, but is better than the MADF algorithm. Here, this algorithm has useful characteristics when the correlation of the input signal is highly.

  • In this paper, we propose blind adaptation strategies for decision feedback equalizer (DFE) optimizing the operation mode between acquisitionand tracking modes based on adjustable soft decision devices. The proposed schemes select an optimal soft decision device to generate feedback samples for the DFE at a given noise to signal ratio, and apply corresponding adaptation rules which combine a blind infinite impulse response (IIR) filtering adaptation and the decision-directed least mean squared (DD-LMS) DFE adaptation. These adaptation approaches attempt to achieve not only smooth transition between acquisition and tracking of DFE but also mitigation of error propagation.

  • This paper presents an approach to combine adaptive controller with feedback linearization, which extends the applicability of the adaptive controller to a wider class of systems. The adaptive controller guarantees the asymptotic tracking convergence and the transient performance of the tracking error. The feedback linearization transforms a nonlinear plant into a linear time invariant form. The asymptotic tracking convergence is shown by the use of Lyapunov stability analysis and Barbalat's lemma.

  • Adaptive constant false alarm rate(CFAR) algorithm is used for good detection probability as well as constant false alarm rate in clutter background. Especially, filtering technique adaptive to spatial variation is necessary for improving detection quality in non stationary clutter environment which has spatial correlation and large magnitude deviation. In this paper, we propose a two-dimensional block interpolation(TBI) adaptive CFAR algorithm that calculates the node estimate in the fred two dimensional region and subsequently determines the final estimate for each resolution cell by two-dimensional interpolation. The proposed method is efficient for filtering abnormal ejection by adopting distribution median in fixed region and also has advantage of reducing required memory space by using estimation method which gets final values after calculating the block node values. Through simulations, we show that the proposed method is superior to the traditional adaptive CFAR algorithms which are transversal or recursive in aspect of the detection performance and required memory space.

  • In this paper, an efficient signal interference control technique to improve the convergence speed of LMS algorithm is introduced. The convergence characteristics of the proposed algorithm, whose coefficients are multiply adapted in a symbol time period by recycling the received data, are analyzed to prove theoretically the improvement of convergence speed. According as thestep-size parameter ${\mu}$ is increased, the rate of convergence of the algorithm is controlled. Increasing the eigenvalue spread has the effect of controlling down the rate of convergence of the adaptive equalizer and also increasing the steady-state value of the average squared error and also demonstrate the superiority of signal interference control to the filter algorithm increasing convergence speed by (B+1) times due to the data-recycling LMS technique.
