역사속 과학인물 - 대동여지도 만든 신비 속 인물 '김정호'

  • 1861년 대동여지도를 만든 김정호는 어디서 태어나 언제 죽었는지도 모르는 신비 속의 인물이다. 지금의 마포 근처에서 살았다는 김정호는 22첩으로 된 가로 3m, 세로 7m의 대동여지도를 목판으로 인쇄하여 펴낸 과학인물이다. 대동여지도는 지금의 16만분의 1지도와 비슷한 것으로 산, 하천, 고을, 길 등이 정확하게 표시되어 있다. 평생을 지도제작에 바친 그의 뛰어난 과학정신이 새롭게 평가되고 있다.

A Study on Methodology of Visual Quality Improvement of Landscape : The Case of the Han Riverscape (경관의 시각적 질의 개선방안에 관한 연구 -한강경관을 중심으로-)

  • 본 연구는 경관의 미적선호의 정보처리모형을 제시하고 LISREL 방법론을 사용하여 한강경관의 미적선호의 강화에 기여하는 구조적 인자 를 확인함으로써 한강경관의 시각적 질의 개선방안을 제시하는데 그 목 적이 있다. 이를 위해 한강 경관을 대표할 수 있는 전형적이고 시각적으 로 현저한 40개의 경관의 슬라이드를 120명의 피조사자에게 보여주고 미 적평가, 선호, 가독성, 복잡성, 통일성, 신비성을 11등급의 척도를 사용하 여 측정하고 LISREL 분석방법으로 분석하였다. 경관번호 30을 제외하고 모형의 전체적 적합도가 매우 높은 것으로 나타났다. 분석의 결과 경관 에 대한 미적 평가와 선호가 경관의 미적선호를 타당성있게 나타내는 변 수로 확인되었으며, 통일성, 가독성, 신비성의 구조적 변수들이 경관의 시각적 질을 유의하게 강화시키는 인자로 판명되었다. 이 결과를 기초로 하여 한강 경관의 시각적 질을 개선하기 위한 방안을 제시하였다.

How to teach English novel in Korea (한국 대학에서 영미소설 가르치기)

  • Korean students in English novel class read presentable papers about a novel, but if asked about some parts of the novel, they are helpless. How do they know the whole novel without knowing its parts? Because most Korean students cannot read through an English novel in a short time, they are awfully pressed with preparation for papers to be presented in the class. That makes their papers composed entirely of appropriated ideas from references. Being conscious of students' inability to read through a novel, some teachers select and read only some important parts or chapters of the novel. That makes students take a novel not as literary art, but as a prose work for abstract ideas. In order to solve the problem, I propose chapter analysis. Attentive reading new critics applied to poetry and short story is applicable to the chapter of a novel. Because no critic or scholar analyzes a novel chapter by chapter in his/her articles or books, students cannot wholly mosaic their papers with ideas from references. Chapter analysis will enable Korean students to interpret a novel with their own view point. This paper includes such sections as the theoretical background of fictional chapters, some items to be considered for chapter analysis in the class, and examples of analysis of a short story and two chapters from a novel.

인버티드 유기태양전지용 Ti-Zn-O 버퍼층 특성 평가 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 RF/DC 마그네트론 스퍼터링 시스템을 이용하여 co-sputtering 방법으로 TiO2와 ZnO를 이용하여 인버티드 유기태양전지용 버퍼층을 제작하고 TiO2와 ZnO의 함량에 따른 인버티드 유기 태양전지 특성을 비교하였다. Ti-Zn-O 버퍼층은 기존의 버퍼층 제작에 사용되던 용액 공정 대신 스퍼터링 시스템을 이용하여 제작하였다. ITO 전극 상부에 곧바로 Ti-Zn-O를 성막하여 Anode와 버퍼층이 일체화된 투명 전극을 제작하고 ZnO와 TiO2 함량이 유기 태양전지의 특성에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 버퍼층의 TiO2와 ZnO 함량에 따른 광학적, 구조적특성을 UV/Vis spectrometry와 X-ray diffraction (XRD), TEM 등으로 분석하였으며, Ti-Zn-O 박막의 실제 버퍼 층으로서의 적용 가능성을 알아보기 위해 인버티드 유기태양전지로 제작하여 그 특성을 평가하였다. 기존의 인버티드 유기태양전지의 특성이 fill factor of 55.58%, short circuit current of 8.33 mA/cm2, open circuit voltage of 0.66 V, efficiency 3.06%인데 반해 최적 조건의 Ti-Zn-O 버퍼층을 적용했을 경우 fill factor of 52.05%, short circuit current of 8.81 mA/cm2, open circuit voltage of 0.66 V, efficiency 3.03%인 우수한 유기태양전지의 특성을 보임으로써 스퍼터링 공법으로 제작된 Ti-Zn-O 박막의 인버티드 유기태양전지용 버퍼 층으로서의 적용 가능성을 확인하였다.

고 투과, 저 저항 Ge-doped $In_2O_3$ (IGO) 투명 전극의 특성 평가 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 RF/DC 마그네트론 스퍼터링 시스템을 이용하여co-sputtering 방법으로 성장시킨 고이동도를 갖는Ge-doped $In_2O_3$In2O3 (IGO) 박막의 전기적, 광학적, 구조적 특성을 평가하고, 이를 유기태양전지와 유기발광다이오드에 적용함으로써 고이동도 IGO 투명전극의 소자 적용가능성을 타진하였다. GeO2 타겟에 인가되는 도핑 Power와 급속열처리 온도가 30 W, $500^{\circ}C$일 때, 최적화 된 IGO 박막으로부터 $2.8{\times}10^{-4}$ Ohm-cm의 낮은 비저항과 86.9% (550 nm)의 높은 투과도를 확보하였다. 뿐만 아니라 Near Infra-red (750~1,200 nm) 영역에서의 IGO투명전극의 광투과율이 결정질의 ITO보다 높은(약15%) 투과도를 보이는 것을 통해 IGO박막의 높은 LAS (Lewis Acid Strength) 값을 가지는 Ge 원소의 도핑이 NIR 영역의 광투과율 향상에 미치는 영향을 확인할 수 있었다. 최적 조건의 IGO 박막을 적용하여 Fill Factor 67.38%, Short circuit current density 8.43 mA/cm2, open circuit voltage 0.60 V, efficiency 3.44%의 유기태양전지 및 19.24%의 외부양자효율을 갖는 유기발광다이오드를 제작함으로써 결정질 ITO 전극(20.05%)을 대체할 수 있는 고투과, 고이동도 IGO 투명 전극 및 이를 이용한 광전소자 적용 가능성을 타진하였다.

Correlation between Fluoride Release, Microhardness and Solubility of High viscosity Glass Ionomers (고점도 글라스아이오노머의 불소 유리량, 미세경도 및 용해도의 상관관계)

  • This study was to measure and compare the amount of fluoride, microhardness and solubility of high viscosity glass ionomer and resin-reinforced glass ionomer during 84 days. Fuji IX GP EXTRA, Fuji IX GP, Fuji II LC and Filtek$^{TM}$ Z350XT stored in deionized water for 84 days to measure fluoride release, microhardness and solubility. As a result of measurement of fluoride release, all the glass ionomers showed the highest amount of fluoride release on day 1 and gradually decreased. Fuji IX GP EXTRA showed the highest amount of fluoride release and cumulative release. And Fuji IX GP and Fuji II LC showed no significant difference. Microhardness measurements showed that all experimental groups decreased 1 day after exposure to water. After 84 days, microhardness showed no significant difference between Fuji IX GP EXTRA and Fuji IX GP, and Fuji II LC was the lowest. In the solubility measurement, Fuji IX GP EXTRA, Fuji IX GP, and Fuji II LC increased rapidly to 21 days. After 21 days, there was no significant difference in the three groups. As a result, short term fluoride release affects solubility and microhardness, but long term fluoride release has no correlation. Through this study, the amount of fluoride, microhardness, and solubility of various glass ionomers were evaluated, and these properties could be applied clinically.

Evaluation of Microhardness of Bulk-base Composite Resins According to the Depth of Cure (Bulk-base 복합 레진의 중합 깊이에 따른 미세경도 평가)

  • Composite resin becomes an essential material in pediatric dentistry. However, incremental filling of composite resin to minimize the polymerization shrinkage takes time. To reduce the polymerization shrinkage, clinicians and researchers have focused on bulk-filling materials. Bulk-base composite resin is newly introduced as bulk-filling composite resin. The purpose of this study was to evaluate microhardness profile of bulk-base composite resin according to the depth of cure. A high flow bulk-base material and a low flow bulk-base material were used for experimental group, and a conventional composite resin was used for control group. Each group consist of 20 specimens, $3.5{\times}3.5{\times}5.0mm$ mold was used to make specimen. Specimens were sectioned at the 2 mm and the 3 mm depth with milling machine. Microhardness profile was measured at the surface, 2 mm depth, 3 mm depth, and 4 mm depth. Microhardness of control group showed statistically significant difference (p < 0.05) according to the polymerization depth. In contrast, experimental group showed no statistically significant difference, except between 0 mm and 4 mm at HFB, 0 mm and 2 mm, 0 mm and 3 mm at MFB. At the surface and the 2 mm depth, the control group showed higher microhardness than the experimental groups (p < 0.05). However, at the 4 mm depth, the experimental groups showed significantly higher microhardness (p < 0.05). The results from this study, the bulk-base composite resin showed higher microhardness at the 4 mm and lower microhardness at the surface and the 2 mm depth. Therefore, if bulk-base resin overcomes the mechanical weakness, it could be considered using in pediatric dentistry.

  • Since the completion of the theories on human ethics and moral had been established to pursue by Confucian thinkers like Confucius and Mencius, they generally had agreed to present the basic principles for human education which every human could be the sage. In these principles for human ethics and morality there is on the premise that the knowledge about your own ethical and that the completion of the so-called act(爲) and learning(學). They had given to us that how to get a goal for the ethical and moral lives there are several academic oriented methodology will have act and learning set. In the point of achieving complete figures which act and learning for good society, there was named the sage(聖). This concept sage has two major types. One is on for the political figures that completed, and the other one is for the realm of academic side. Confucian as above mentioned the moral human being is equipped with a complete personality and political ability to make man and society perfect. Confucius has been understood as a complete human being. Yes, ideal for these two types of figures will be fulfilled in some way? They take a mystical ability to a priori or a posteriori, such as human effort can reach the sage. There are many thinkers are obvious and logical answer for this major problem in the system of confucian philosophy I have been trying. About the sage(聖), inherently natural learning(生知) occur to the position sage or knowledge (學知), can lead to there are two of the doctrine for that problem. With the study of learning and knowledge on human beings and real society the two systems concerned together. In fact, the main content of the "Analects of Confucius" we have a set of ethical and moral values not the benevolent conversation about Jin(仁) and his disciples a steady emphasis but on in praise of learning (學) for. However, at the time in Han Tang(漢唐) Han Wi(韓愈) and Wang Chung(王充), according to such thinkers the sage is already a priori determined, cannot be reached by human effort. But At the beginning of the Neo-Confucianism, Cheng I(程?) for the pioneer this Song(宋) scholars, regarding this issue could rebirth the thought that every human could be the sage through the learning as the pre-Chin(先秦) times.
