  • During the course of the execution of the project entitled Distribution Research of Rare Plants, we found the habitats of two rare ferns with obscure and/or extremely restricted distribution ranges, as previously unreported habitats. A subantarctic fern reported on Hamgyeong-do and Gangwon-do, Dryopteris coreano-montana Nakai, was found on Mt. Ibam in Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do. A subtropical fern reported south of Jeju-do, Dryopteris decipiens (Hook.) Kuntze, was newly found on Mt. Cheongwan of Jangheung-gun in Jeollanam-do.

  • In the course of execution for Inventories and Management of Plant Resources of Korea, We found new habitats of 4 plant species which distribution ranges are obscure and/or extremely restricted. A subtropical fern distributed in Jeju-do, Woodwardia japonica (L. f.) Sm., was found in Mt. Gambang-san of Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do. A saprophytic orchid, Galeola septentrionalis Reichb., was found in Mt. Ggachi-bong of Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do. Peristrophe japonica (Thunb.) Bremek., known in Jeollanam-do, was newly found in Mt. Mudeung-san of Gwangju-si. Viburnum furcatum Blume mainly distributed in Jeju-do and Ulleung-do was found in Mt. Jabyeong-san of Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do.

  • Archidium ohioense Schimp. ex Müll. Hal.는 국내 자생 정보가 부족했던 종으로 본 연구를 통해 경기도 연천군 전곡읍 간파리 감악산에서 신분포지를 확인하였다. A. ohioense가 속하는 Archidium Brid.

  • Eighty one specimens of nhodeus sericeus (Pallas, 1176) were collected at the upper stream of the Som River (37$^{\circ}$32' 38" N, 127$^{\circ}$58' 57" E: Maegok-ri, Konggun-myon, Hoengsong-gun, Kanguvon-do, Korea) which is a tributary of the Namhan River. This is the first report of the species in the southern part of the Korean Peninsula. This species is well discriminated from the other species in the genus nhodeus by the following respects. The number of scales of transverse series is more than 34 (range 34-37, mean 35.7 $\pm$0.7). Head is echo감or and snout is Bonder than those of the other species. The upper part of the eve is always black and the lateral body surfaces are reddish purple. It had been hem that the southern limit of the distribution of Rhodeus sericeus was the Yonghung River in Hamgvongnam-do, north-eastern part of the Korean Peninsula. But their distributional range is extended more southerly to the Han River system which tons westward through the central part of the Korean Peninsula.Peninsula.

  • Archidium Brid. (Archidiaceae), comprising a total of 35 species, is known to be widely distributed from subtropical to temperate regions, excluding the polar areas. The distribution of Archidium ohioense Schimp ex Müll. Hal. in Korea has been unclear. This study reports the collection of Archidium ohioense from Mt. Gamak, Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. This species is distinguished from similar species by median cell, alar region, capsule. We provide detailed description, illustrations, photographs, and a key to related species.

  • Plagiothecium platyphyllum Mönk (Plagiotheciaceae), a species unrecorded previously in the moss flora of the Republic of Korea (South Korea), was collected in the Surak stream of Mt. Daedun in Jeollabuk-do Wanju-gun Sanbuk-ri. This species was known to be distributed around China, Japan, North Korea, and Europe. The morphological characters of P. platyphyllum's leaf are ovate-lanceolate, and mostly asymmetric, 2.0~2.5 × 1.0~1.4 mm. The margin of the leaf is entirely below and weakly serrulated near the apex. The costae parts are double, unequal, with one branch reaching to the mid-leaf. Median leaf cells are linear-rhomboidal, 80~127 × 10~16 ㎛ and alar cells are rectangular. Central strand is developed in the core of the stem.
