Effect of Electroacupuncture on the Regeneration of Injured Peripheral Nerve (손상된 말초신경의 재생에 미치는 전자침의 효과)

  • To confirm the effect of electroacupuncture on the regeneration of injured peripheral nerve, the change of evoked potential in the sciatic nerve, the change of enzyme activity in the spinal cord, and morphological change of injured sciatic nerve were examined comparatively in acupuncture group (AG) and control group (CG) after sciatic nerve of guinea pig was injured by purpose. The value of evoked potential after injury of the sciatic nerve was increased in both AG and CG, but the increase rate of that was higher in AG than CG. Acid phosphatase activity of the spinal cord was increased in 1CG and 2AG, but shown are tendency to return to the normal state as time went by. Ultrastructural recovering rate of the injured sciatic nerve was higher in AG than CG. Also, there was developed only adipose tissue in sciatic nerve of AG. As mentioned above, the effect of electroacupuncture on the regeneration of injured peripheral nerve was confirmed experimentally by change of evoked potential, acid phosphatase and ultrastructure. Especially, the effect of electroacupuncture was appeared clearly in an early stage than other treatment stages.

Development of the Central Nervous System in the Wolf Spider Arctosa kwangreungensis (Araneae: Lycosidae) (광릉늑대거미(Arctosa kwangreungensis) 중추신경계 발생에 관한 연구)

  • The morphological and histologic differentiation of the central nervous system (CNS) in the wolf spider Arctosa kwangreungensis with respect to postembryonic development are studied using light and scanning electron microscopes. The organization of CNS which consisted of supraesophageal ganglion (SpG) and subesophageal ganglion (SbG) are established prior to the postembryo stage. The brain of first instar spiderling after a molt of the postembryo is also made up of supraesophageal ganglion and subesophageal ganglion. Although development of the optic nerve and optic lobe in SpG are not completed during the postembryoic stage, completion of whole neural system resemble to that of adult are established during the second instar stage. In particular, optic gangalion is developed from the undifferentiated cell clusters of the SpG, moreover four pairs of appendage ganglia and another pairs of abdominal ganglia are produced from the SbG. Nerve cells of the most developing stages are composed of typical monopolar neur1ons, and total three types of neurons can be identified through the histological and morphological basis of present study. These cell clusters are differentiated into neurons and grow dendritic fibers according to further development of the CNS.

  • As Information Technology growing, the character recognition application plays an important role in the ubiquitous environment. In this paper, we propose the Modified ART1 network using Multiresolution Mergence to the problems of the character recognition. The approach is based on the unsupervised neural network and multiresolution. In order to decrease noises and to increase the classification rate of the characters, we propose the multiresolution mergence strategy using both high resolution and low resolution information. Also, to maximize the effect of multiresolution mergence, we use a modified ART1 method with a different similarity measure. Our experimental results show that the classification rate of character is quite increased as well as the performance of the propose algorithm in conjunction with the similarity measure is improved comparing to the conventional ART1 algorithm in this application.

  • Amid the recent rapid trend change, the change in design has a great impact on the sales of fashion companies, so it is inevitable to be careful in choosing new designs. With the recent development of the artificial intelligence field, various machine learning is being used a lot in the fashion market to increase consumers' preferences. To contribute to increasing reliability in the development of new products by quantifying abstract concepts such as preferences, we generate new images that do not exist through three adversarial generative neural networks (GANs) and numerically compare abstract concepts of preferences using pre-trained convolution neural networks (CNNs). Deep convolutional generative adversarial networks (DCGAN), Progressive growing adversarial networks (PGGAN), and Dual Discriminator generative adversarial networks (DANs), which were trained to produce comparative, high-level, and high-level images. The degree of similarity measured was considered as a preference, and the experimental results showed that D2GAN showed a relatively high similarity compared to DCGAN and PGGAN.

  • 전력의 발생에서 말단의 배전에 이르기까지의 전력 Energy의 흐름을 전력 System이라면 이것을 주회로계통과 제어계통으로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 물론 양자는 일체가 되어 전력 System을 형성하고 있지만 이것을 인체에 비유하면 제어계통은 신경계통에 상당한다. 주회로계통 즉 발전기, 변압기, 차단기나 송전선등 주기기는 전력계통의 경제성추구에 따라 년년 그 단위기용량의 증대와 전압계급의 상승등 눈부신 개발과 연구로 발달되어 왔고, 한편 제어계통도 전자기술의 진보로 어떤면에서는 주회로기기보다도 더 크게 발달되도 있다. 전력수요의 증대에 따라 질, 량 양면에서의 써비스 요청은 더욱 고도화하여 설비의 근대화, 자동화등에 의한 공급신뢰도향상이 한층 더 필요해졌기 때문이다. 초기에는 제어는 사람이 기계에 붙어서 그 기계를 눈으로 보면서 행하였지만, 단위운전원이 조작가능한 설비용량에는 한계가 있어서 원방제어, 집중제어, 자동화의 방향으로 목표가 진행되어 완전무인화의 방향으로 나아가고 있다. 앞으로 외국에 비해 다소 늦긴했으나 전자계산기의 도입설치에 의한 계산기제어및 관할 배전변전소군의 원방감시제어에 의한 무인화등이 검토될 것으로 기대된다.

Rock cleavages가 발달한 천매암 사면의 파괴활동사례연구

  • 본 연구대상은 $\bigcirc$$\bigcirc$우회도로 Sta.3+300~600 구간에 형성된 높이 약 50m의 대절토 암반사면으로 대부분 절취가 완료된 상태에서, 1차로 사면 좌측부의 발파암과 풍화암의 경계부를 따라 인장균열이 소규모로 형성되면서 Slip 등 사면파괴활동이 시작되었으며, 2차로 활동높이 35m, 활동폭 40m, 활동깊이 약 l0m 규모로 붕괴되었고, 주변에도 인장균열의 발생이 확인되는 등 추가 붕괴의 징후가 있어 사면의 안정성을 검토하였다. Rock Cleavages가 발달한 천매암으로 구성된 파괴활동사면을 대상으로 지표지질조사, 추가시추조사, 전기비저항탐사, 시추공 영상촬영(BIPS)을 실시하여 사면붕괴의 원인과 추후에 예상되는 붕괴의 양상을 파악하고, 연구지역에 가장 적합한 보강대책을 수립하고자 하였다.

  • 사회가 다원화되고 발달하면서 생활환경과 행동양식에 따라 홍수 등의 수난(水難) 으로 인한 피해 정도와 양상은 크게 달라질 수 있으나, 수난으로 인한 체감 가능한 피해의 정도와 규모는 예측이 어려운 현실이다. 그리고, 최근 인터넷과 소셜 네트워크 서비스(SNS)의 급진적 발달은 재난 관리에 대중적 지식을 수집하여 활용하도록 촉진하고 있고, 이로 인해 재난 상황에서 '대중적인 정보가 기술자에 의해 어떻게 얼마나 신중하게 고려되어야 하는지와 어떻게 과학적으로 해석해야하는지'가 핵심 쟁점으로 부상하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 최근 널리 사용되는 인공지능 및 딥러닝 기법을 조사 분석하였다. 분석을 통해 수문 예측 분야에서 이러한 기술이 적용된 사례와 신기술을 조망해 보고 기존 기술이 인공지능 및 딥러닝 기법의 적용으로 대체 가능한 정도를 가늠해 보았다.

  • Leo Kanner (1943)의 자폐증에 관한 획기적 논문발표 50주년을 맞아, 자폐증의 개념변천, 분류, 의학, 원인설 및 자폐증의 본질을 문헌고찰을 통해 살펴 보았다. 초기에 자폐증을 정신병의 아형으로 보다가 1980년 (DMS-III)을 기점으로 전반적 발달장애로의 개념 변천이 일어났다 원인설도, 초기의 심리${\cdot}$환경설은 지지 받지 못하고 1960년대에는 신경${\cdot}$생물학적 이상이 자폐병리의 기저를 이룸이 분명해 졌고 1970년대에는 지각과 운동, 감각과 인지 통합의 결함, 심각한 언어, 인지의 장해가 일차적인 결함으로 생각 되었다 최근 1980년 후반기 부터 상징적${\cdot}$표상적 인지의 결함, 타인의 감정과 생각의 이해 결함, 사회적${\cdot}$정감적 표현의 결함등 사회${\cdot}$정서발달의 이상이 자폐의 근본적 결함이라는 비교 관찰 연구가 많이 보고되어, 자폐증의 근본적이고 일차적인 결함이 정감적 접촉의 선천적 장애라는 Kanner의 놀라운 임상적 통찰을 증명해 주고 있다. 저자는 이상의 광범위한 문헌 고찰을 통해 자폐장애를 일차성 애착장애로 개념화하고 앞으로 치료, 교육의 방향도 일차적으로 사회${\cdot}$정서발달에 촛점을 두어야 하며, 특히 어머니와의 애착증진 치료가 필요함을 제안하고 있다.

Electron Microscopic Studies on the Interpeduncular Nucleus and the Habenulo-Interpeduncular Projection in the Rat (흰쥐 뇌각간핵 및 고삐-각간로에 관한 전자현미경적 연구)

  • Electron microscopic degeneration studies were carried out on the rat's interpeduncular nucleus following lesion on both habenular nuclei to clarify the morphological nature of their presynaptic endings involved in the habenulo-interpeduncular pathway. Two distinct types of interpeduncular neurons were observed: 30% of large neurons and 70% of small ones. Four types of boutons with many characteristics could be differentiated; small spherical vesicle-containing boutons (40%), large spherical vesicle-containing boutons (18%), pleomorphic vesicle-containing boutons (33%), and elongated vesicle-containg boutons (9%). Vesicle containing dendrites were observed as dendro-dendritic synapses and axo-axonal synapses were also found, though rarely. Two to four days after the lesion on both habenular nuclei, the small spherical vesicle-containing boutons were found almost exclusively in the process of degeneration, while the other types were entirely free of degeneration. Therefore, it is inferred that habenural neurons terminate in the interpeduncular nucleus as small spherical vesicle-containing boutons. The neuronal origin of the other bouton types is discussed.

A Case of Neonatal Onset Propionic Acidemia with Mild Clinical Presentations (경한 임상 경과를 보인 신생아 시기의 프로피온산혈증 1례)

  • Propionic acidemia (PA) is an autosomal recessively inherited disorder of the organic acid metabolism. It is caused by a deficiency of propionyl-CoA carboxylase (PCC). PCC is a heteropolymeric enzyme composed of ${\alpha}$- and ${\beta}$-subunits. The clinical symptoms of PA are heterogeneous and present vomiting, dehydration, hypotonia, and lethargy, and it can result in death. The typical presentations of neonatal onset PA are life-threatening metabolic acidosis and hyperammonemia. Here, we described a case of neonatal onset PA with mild clinical presentations. She was born to a healthy mother without complications. No significant illness was observed until nine days after birth. She started exhibiting poor oral feeding, vomiting, lethargy, and hypotonia at ten days old. Her laboratory results showed mild hyperammonemia and acidosis. The initial diagnosis was neonatal sepsis and she was treated with antibiotics. However, her clinical symptoms didn't improve. So we considered a metabolic disease. She was given nothing by mouth and intravenous hydration and nutrition support was performed. Propionylglycine and 3-hydroxypropionic acid were showed high concentrations in urine by gas chromatograph mass spectrometry (GC-MS). C3 level of acylcarnitine analysis elevated 10.4 uM/L (range, 0.200-5.00) in plasma. We took gene analysis for PA to be based on the symptoms and laboratory results. We detected PCCB gene mutation and diagnosed PA. She survived without severe neurologic defects and complications and was hospitalized only three times with upper respiratory tract infections for 7 years. We report a case of a ten days old neonate with PA presenting without severe metabolic acidosis and hyperammonemia who was effectively treated with early aggressive care and conventional methods.
