Optimum Combination of Carbon and Glass Fiber Composite to Obtain the Hybrid Effect (하이브리드 효과를 주는 탄소섬유와 유리섬유의 최적 조합비)

  • Using combinations of carbon and glass fiber composites normally used for strengthening of concrete structures, the hybrid effect from strengthening concrete structures using the composite is studied. To produce the hybrid effects, the specimens were made with optimum proportions of carbon fibers with glass fibers. Then, direct tensile tests were conducted on the hybrid FRP (fiber reinforced polymer) specimens. Unlike the woven fiber sheet currently used in construction sites, the FRP specimens have to be directly combined with the fibers, which make the work very complicated. Therefore, direct tensile test specimens manufacturing method based on the combination of high-tension carbon fibers and E-type glass fibers was proposed and the effects of hybridization is studied through the direct tensile test. By comparing the ductility index, the modulus of elasticity, and the stress-strain curves of the specimens, the most optimum glass to carbon fiber combination ratio for the hybrid FRP was found to be 9 to 1 with ductile K-type epoxy. The study results are discussed in detail in the paper.

A Study on the Fire Risk of Car Interior Materials (자동차 내장재의 화재위험성에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, we have performed several tests for composite plastic materials to be applied on interior materials of a vehicle to identify their combustion characteristics using cone calorimeter, smoke density chamber and toxicity index chamber. We have prepared a total of 12 samples for 4 major parts of a vehicle wherein each major part has 3 different materials. The results of cone calorimeter test showed ignition time of PVC sheet and PVC leather were 2s. The 8 samples showed under less than 10s of ignition time. The sample comprising Nylon and PE had the biggest maximum heat release rate of 635 $kW/m^2$. The sample comprising Rubber showed the smallest maximum heat release rate but with the biggest total heat release. The results of smoke density chamber test showed the sample that is made up with Rubber had the biggest specific optical smoke density. The sample comprising PVC leather and PUR showed the biggest VOF4 which enables the initial smoke production. The results of toxicity index test showed that all samples contained carbon dioxide content exceeding its lethal concentration. The sample comprising PVC showed high content of hydrogen chloride and hydrogen bromide. The PVC sheet showed the biggest toxicity index calculated by using lethal concentration and test results. Toxicity index of all sample wes over 1.

Study on Thermal Conductive PV(PhotoVoltaic) Backsheet using MgO Masterbatch with High Thermal Conductivity (고열전도도 MgO를 이용한 열전도성 PV(PhotoVoltaic) 백시트의 연구)

  • PV module protective film plays an important role in protecting the solar cell from external environment by anti-hydrolysis polyester, UV resistance and mechanical properties. The backsheet was manufactured by using Roll-to-Roll dry laminating process. The backsheet structure is composed of 3 layers, which are PE, PET, and Fluorine polymer films. In this study, we have experimented the variation of thermal conductivities depending on MgO inputs 10% to 25% in order to confirm the dependence of the module efficiencies. High thermal conductive backsheet can increase the module output power efficiency because the heat is dissipated by spreading out the internal heat. Long-term environment weatherability tests were conducted for confirming 25 year reliability in the field such as PCT, UV, and power efficiency degradations. As the evaluation result, high thermal conductivity can be effective for increase of power efficiency of solar panel by using thermal conductive MgO masterbatch.

  • In this paper, the new modulation system, the digital phase-frequency hybrid modulation system is proposed for mobile radio communications. The error rate and the outage equation of PFSK(Phase-Frequency Shift Keying) signal transmitted through the fading channel has been derived considiering deversity techniques. The error rate and the outgae rate performances of PFSK system have been evaluated and shown in figures in terms of carrier-to-noise power ratio(CNR), fading figure, numbers of diversity branches, correlation coefficient among the diversity branches. And the performance of PFSK system is superior to that of QDPSK system. And by using diversity techniques, system performances can be improved 13dB above in CNR.

Modularization of Automotive Product Architecture: Evidence from Passenger Car (자동차 아키텍처의 모듈화: 승용차 사례를 중심으로)

  • How has the passenger car's architecture evolved? In the meantime, the discussions on the car architecture have been mixed, i.e., integral, modular, and the coexistence of two types. Therefore, in this study, we aim to develop two indices can measure the degree of modularization of passenger car and its all modules using global trade data. By applying the indices to the framework of architecture positioning that reflects the hierarchical structure of a product, we examined that the degree of modularization of the passenger car architecture has been enhanced. Meanwhile, the degree of modularization differs across the modules that make up the car. Specifically, we observed the higher degree of modularization in front-end, cockpit and seat modules. Whereas, we found that body module had a relatively low degree of modularization. In particular, we observed that the platform of passenger car has notably modularized due to carmakers' efforts to achieve model diversification and reduction of cost and period in new product development at the same time. Interestingly, we showed that three modules, i.e., engine, chassis (relatively less modularized), and transmission (relatively highly modularized), had a different level of modularization, even if they commonly make up the platform. We contribute to the suggestion for analytical approaches that examine the degree of modularization and its progress longitudinally. In addition, we propose the necessity of decomposition of a system into elements in a study of product architecture, considering the possibly distinctive progress of modularization across the elements.

Cosmeceutical Properties of Extracts of Torreya nucifera and Alpinia henryi and Formulation Characteristics of Mask Pack Containing Extracts of These (비자 및 초두구 추출물의 코스메슈티칼 특성 및 이를 포함한 마스크팩 제형특성)

  • The extracts of antioxidants, torreya nucifera and alphinia henryi, were tested for properties as a fragrance material and applied to a mask pack formulation to study the fragrance properties. The DPPH antioxidant test of hot water and ethanol extract confirmed that the ethanol extract had superior antioxidant efficacy compared to the hot water extract. It was confirmed that the optimal mixing ratio as a raw material for the mask pack of torreya nucifera and alphinia henryi was 3:7 as a result of the DPPH antioxidant test. As a result of the cytotoxicity test, the cell viability was good as it showed 103.30% at 0.5 ug/mL, 104.25% at 1 ug/mL, 102.56% at 5 ug/mL, and 99.17% at 10 ug/mL compared to the untreated group. As a result of the patch test on the mask pack formulation, the skin irritation index of 0.02 was judged as a non-irritation product in the skin irritation primary stimulation human application test. In the evaluation of skin moisturizing, it showed a significant increase rate of 19.178% compared to before the sample adaptation. Evaluation of the change over time in the sheet mask pack formulation confirmed the formulation stability without viscosity and pH change for 12 weeks at low temperature(4℃), room temperature(25℃), and high temperature(45℃).

주석 전기도금과 열압착본딩을 이용한 Bi2Te3계 열전모듈의 제작

  • 열전재료는 열에너지를 전기에너지로 또는 전기에너지를 열에너지로 직접 변환하는데 가장 널리 사용되는 재료이다. $Bi_2Te_3$계 열전 재료는 400K 이하의 비교적 저온 영역에서 높은 성능지수(Dimensionless Figure of merit, ZT($={\alpha}2{\sigma}T/{\kappa}$, ${\alpha}$: 제백계수, ${\sigma}$: 전기전도도, T: 절대온도, ${\kappa}$: 열전도도))를 나타내는 열전재료이며 자동차 시트나 정수기 등에 응용되고 있다. 열전모듈은 제조시 수십 개에서 수백 개 이상의 n형 및 p형 열전소자를 알루미나($Al_2O_3$)와 같은 세라믹 기판(substrate) 상에 접합된 동 전극 위에 전기적으로 서로 직렬로 접합시켜 제조한다. 기존의 열전모듈의 제조방법에는 동 전극 위에 위에 Sn합금 분말과 플럭스(flux)의 혼합물인 솔더페이스트를 스크린 인쇄법을 사용하여 동 전극에 도포한 다음, 그 위에 열전소자를 얹고 약 520K의 열풍을 가하여 솔더를 용융시켜 열전소자와 동 전극을 접합시킨다. 스크린 인쇄법에서는 인쇄 압력이 일정하지 않으면, 솔더페이스트 층의 두께가 균일하지 않게 되어 열전소자 접합부의 불량을 유발시킨다. 그러나 열모듈은 단 하나의 접합 불량이 모듈 전체의 열전변환성능에 심각한 영향을 줄 수 있기 때문에 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해, 솔더페이스트를 도포하지 않고 열전소자를 직접 동 전극과 접합할 수 있는 방법을 고안하였다. 무전해도금을 이용한 니켈층을 형성시킨 $Bi_2Te_3$계 열전소자 표면에 약 $50{\mu}m$의 주석도금층을 전기도금법을 구사하여 형성시켰다. 그 후, wire cutting을 통하여 $3mm{\times}3mm{\times}3mm$의 크기로 절단한 주석도금된 열전소자를 동 전극에 얹고 1.1KPa의 압력을 가하면서 523K의 핫플레이트 위에서 3분간 방치하여 직접(direct) 열압착 접합을 실시하였다. 접합부의 단면을 SEM을 이용하여 관찰한 결과, 동 전극과 열전소자 사이의 계면에 용융 후 응고된 주석층이 결함없이 균일하게 형성된 양호한 접합부를 관찰할 수 있었다. 따라서, 솔더페이스트를 이용하지 않고, 열전소자 표면에 주석도금을 실시한 후, 동 전극과 직접 열압착 본딩을 실시하는 방법은 균일한 접합계면을 얻을 수 있는 새로운 공정으로 기대된다.

  • In order to study the behaviors of inorganic fillers in recycling of the waste agricultural plastic films, the washed PE fluffs from Shihwa and Jungeup Plant belonging to ENVICO were used respectively. First of all, the test pellets were manufactured by adding of inorganic fillers suchlike calcium carbonate and calpet by certain portions to PE fluffs and then the tested sheets were formed. The mechanical and thermal properties of the samples were measured and compared with others. The items measured were tensile, flexural, Izod impact, HDT, MFT, and so on. Morphologies were also investigated for various samples using the SEM. Finally, optimum ratios between recycled PE and inorganic additives were found out for the best products in physical condition as well as in economic point of view.

Proposal For Improving Data Processing Performance Using Python (파이썬 활용한 데이터 처리 성능 향상방법 제안)

  • This paper deals with how to improve the performance of Python language with various libraries when developing a model using big data. The Python language uses the Pandas library for processing spreadsheet-format data such as Excel. In processing data, Python operates on an in-memory basis. There is no performance issue when processing small scale of data. However, performance issues occur when processing large scale of data. Therefore, this paper introduces a method for distributed processing of execution tasks in a single cluster and multiple clusters by using a Dask library that can be used with Pandas when processing data. The experiment compares the speed of processing a simple exponential model using only Pandas on the same specification hardware and the speed of processing using a dask together. This paper presents a method to develop a model by distributing a large scale of data by CPU cores in terms of performance while maintaining that python's advantage of using various libraries is easy.

Improvement of Heat Resistant of Adhesion between m-Aramid Sheet and Metal Materials using Epoxy/Phenolic Resin (Epoxy/Phenolic resin을 활용한 메타-아라미드 시트지와 금속 소재의 내열접착성 향상)

  • This study tried to analyze the heat resistance properties by blending epoxy and phenolic resin in a certain ratio, and to analyze the adhesive properties at the time of metal-polymer hetero-adhesion by applying Epoxy-phenolic resin between a silicon steel sheet and m-aramid sheet, the viscosity, adhesive peel strength, and adhesive cross section were measured using a rotational rheometer, a tensile tester(UTM), and a field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM). The thermal stability and heat resistance were confirmed by measuring the mass loss according to the temperature increase using Thermogravimetric analysis(TGA). After blending with epoxy and Phenolic resin(1:0.25 ratio) curing at 110℃ for 10 min, high adhesive strength was improved more than 40% compared to the adhesive strength using epoxy alone. When the space between the silicon steel sheet and m-aramid sheet, which is created during curing of the E-P blend, is cured with a slight weight, it is possible to control the empty space and improve adhesion.
