The Study on the Market Competitiveness Reinforcement for Convergence Industry (융합산업의 시장 경쟁력 강화에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this research is to bring supportive ways to reinforce the market competitiveness of fusion industry based on the rapidly arising fusion industries considering system improvement and fusion R&D support. The research has proceeded in the order of setup for competitiveness reinforcing way of fusion industry and deduction for competitiveness reinforcing way based on directivity. It classified the fusion industry into introduction, diffusion and development by time, and suggested expert fusion R&D, open type fusion R&D, customized fusion R&D, system improvement of market entrance and supportive way for public purchase as the supportive way. It's purpose is to lead the entrance into the new fusion market, stabilize to settle into the market and create high value products by resolving difficulties for the market entrance of the new fusion products & service, reinforcing the fusion capability and securing the competitive advantage.

  • Local freight forwarder's circle is suffering worsening profitability and insecure employment from over-competition which caused by a saturated local logistics market. It is emerging UN procurement market for local freight forwarders. However it is needed to study on successful entry, market status and supporting measures from government and research institute. Currently there are no national research data of UN procurement market in logistics sectors but as per the writer's experience and viewpoint to UN bidding, it would seem that appropriate measures should be made such as government's enhanced support for overseas advancement, price competitiveness, building global network and development of education program for trainees associated with current overseas internship program by government.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore whether entering the overseas market can be an opportunity in overcoming the limitations of the single profit structure in which the traditional performing arts industry relies on public support. To this end, we applied the concept of industrial value-chain and business model and divided the overseas market entry process into four stages-preparation, promotion, harvest, and follow-up. Based on three case-studies that actively pursued overseas market development with market-oriented thinking in the field of traditional music, the relevant entry model of overseas market for the Korean traditional performing arts industry was suggested. Although the overseas market is not yet a major source of revenue, the traditional performing arts teams searching for profit diversification can consider the overseas entry model derived from this study. Also as found in case studies, the Korean government should establish an institutional system to foster planning and distribution experts in charge of overseas markets for the traditional performing arts, and develop a long-term information provision program away from the one-time expense support.

An Assessment of Technological Competitiveness in Core Products of Foreign Design & Construction markets (해외 유망 건설상품의 기술 경쟁력 평가)

  • In this study, surveys and interviews are used to evaluate technological competitiveness of each product with respect to that of foreign leading firms, for seven leading domestic construction products which have been determined to have competitive edge in offshore markets, Such evaluation provides a more in depth study than previously conducted research, and is meaningful in that corporate level, rather than industry level, perspective is projected. Major findings of such evaluations are the following. First, as expected, it has been evaluated that domestic technological competitiveness in desalination plant and power plant has reached the point where it can compete with foreign leading firms. Moreover, a noteworthy result of the evaluation is that development program sector, including urban development of satellite cities, has reached considerable level of competitiveness in offshore market. In the case of the development market, domestic firms have accumulated sufficient experience in domestic market and engineering technology is not a decisive factor as in plant sector, and these factors lead to such an evaluation. Second, in the cases of gas, oil refinery and petro-chemical plants, domestic products' technological competitiveness that can contest in offshore market is still centered around production and construction. On the other hand, there are still weaknesses in license technology and basic design capabilities, which constitute the "value added" area. Third, skyscrapers, a promising product in offshore construction market and a product group which domestic firms have much performance record and projects in progress both in domestic and offshore markets, are considered. While direct comparison between skyscrapers and plant sector is not feasible, with the exception of production and construction, overall domestic capability in this sector has been assessed to be the lowest amongst those products that were surveyed. Fourth, it has been indicated that competitiveness is relatively higher in common technology than in key technology. In project management capability, it has been assessed that there are weaknesses in procedure document area. Also, a characteristic is the point that low overall assessments have been given across all product groups for corporate and management areas, not technological areas. Especially, financing, contracting/claim, risk management and investment on research and development received low evaluations. Fifth, it has been assessed that overall corporate and governmental supports are weak. This result is especially evident for corporate management and support areas across all product groups surveyed.

  • Korea has started new value creation which is the post catch-up innovation system from the catch-up innovation. Post catch-up innovation system is becoming the main R&D issue for Korea and is needed for the new concept of R&D management and planning frame. This study posed questionnaires : how to promote the knowledge creation in technology planning and what the role of organizational learning in the technology planning is. This paper suggests the relationship of success factors of knowledge creation in technology planning which is organized and operated by experts with different background. Based on the prior research on organizational learning, communications and collaborative interactions, four hypotheses that factors of knowledge creation in technology planning have positive relationship with organizational learning are extracted. This study adopts Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) to analyze the relationship between organizational learning and successful technology planning. The approach based on organizational learning and interaction will be useful for constructing the planning framework in the era of post catch-up innovation. This paper, therefore, suggests the possibility of new theoretical development and new research agenda.

Market Trends Prediction of the Sports Industry (글로벌 스포츠 산업 트렌드 예측)

  • The aim of this study was to predict the global sports market trend to make developmental and strategic marketing planning for governments, enterprises and scholars. By participating in Delphi, 21 professionals from 12 countries came up with 51 foresights. In addition, the following 7 final results emerged after 3 rounds of discussion. First, integrity issues (e.g., doping and gambling) will increase in the sports industry. Second, the market of youth sports will continue to grow worldwide. Third, the health-oriented sports service will growth, particularly for seniors or people with less wealth. Fourth, the convergence with high-technology, culture and leisure activity will be accelerated. Fifth, mega sports events will receive increasing scrutiny and criticism. Sixth, the leverage of new media (e.g., social media) as well as old media (e.g., TV and magazines) will expand in the sports industry. Finally, globalization, which is similar to the culture phenomenon, will be accelerated in the sports industry.

Selection and Strategies of New Leading Businesses in International Construction Market (해외건설시장의 신성장동력 공종선정 및 진출전략 도출)

  • As the international construction market is rapidly expanding, Korean contractors have the need for having new leading businesses for their sustainable growth and high performance. Thus, this research tried to explore new leading businesses with two questions: 'What can be the new leading businesses?' and 'How can Korean contractors implement new leading businesses?' To this end, based on Porter's five forces framework and the resource-based view (RBV), we first derive three evaluation criteria (possibility of market entry, possibility of profit earning, and possibility of value-added earning). Next, we developed a framework for business evaluation which considers external market condition, internal competitiveness, and spin-off effects toward domestic market. Based on the framework, we defined green-energy plant, environmental plant, desalination plant, nuclear power plant, new urban development, and high-rise building as new leading business. Then, we selected green energy plant, environmental plant, and new urban development for the purpose of prior occupation of the market, consolidation of the competitiveness, and expansion of the ripple effect, respectively. Finally, we deduced market entry strategies for each business by investigating experts' opinions.

Analysis on the Structural Change of Chonsei and Monthly Rent Market (전월세시장 구조변화 분석에 관한 연구)

  • This paper analyzes characteristics and changing phenomenon of Chonsei & monthly rental real estate market based on a survey of participants. The frequency analysis, mean analysis, and cross-table analysis was utilized for this study, and a survey for 2,000 rental market participants was accomplished. The survey result of tenants and land-owners regarding the Chonsei market stability indicates the expansion of public housing supply is needed together with lowering of mortgage related restrictions. The major conclusions include that the expansion of public housing and rental supports for low-income families are needed, due to the population structural change and an aging society. In addition, survey result suggests the tenants require the expansion of public housing supply for the residence stability.

  • In case of one of the next generation mobile telecommunication; WCDMA service, the relevant market growth is delayed by market uncertainty, lack of effective demands, rapid evolution of technology, non-existence of business strategy, lack of distinction with competitive services and killer applications. In this study we intended to analyze the influence factors of market diffusion and marketing strategy of WCDMA. For doing so, we obtained both promotion and hindrance factors for diffusing the market of WCDMA through expert survey. Also we acquired such categories as factor for adoption, willingness to pay, killer application, preferred terminal and pronising customer, which becomes the reason ifluencing on the decision of WCDMA service marketing strategy. On the basis of such results, this paper suggests the direction of deployment for marketing focusing on the strategies as customer, price, sewice, terminal provision, and positioning of WCDMA.

  • 모션플랫폼은 4D 효과의 가장 큰 부분을 차지하는 모션을 제시하는 장비로써, 영화, 엔터테인먼트, 군용 비행 조종훈련, 특수장비 전문가 양성 등의 다양한 응용분야에서 가상현실 기술과 접목되어 적절한 모션을 제공함으로써 사실적인 체험을 극대화할 수 있도록 한다. 기존의 초대형 정밀 군사 시뮬레이터를 유지하기 위한 공간과 비용을 줄이고자 하는 시도와 함께, 단순히 순간순간의 충격만을 전달해주는 저가의 4D 의자가 주는 효과의 한계성을 뛰어넘고자 하는 요구사항이 증가함에 따라, 그 접점에서 새로운 형태의 모션 제공을 통해 모션플랫폼의 신 시장을 창출될 것으로 기대된다. 본고에서는 가상현실을 기반으로 한 모션플랫폼을 응용분야와 동작방식에 따라 분류해 보고, 그에 따른 시장 및 기술개발의 지향점에 대해서 기술한다.
