사이버 채팅 시스템(Cyber Chatting System)은 한 명 이상의 참여자들이 사이버 공간에서 대화할 수 있도록 해주는 양방향 이사 소통 시스템이다. 컴퓨터를 통한 통신이 점차 확산되어 가면서 사이버 채팅 시스템도 그 중요도가 새롭게 인식되고 있고, 국내외로 많은 사이버 채팅 시스템이 운영 중에 있다. 사이버 채팅 시스템들도 다른 시스템들과 마찬가지로 사용자들이 원하는 서비스를 제공하고 있는가를 판단하고 개선 방향을 얻기 위해서는 사용성 평가를 받아야 한다. 기존의 일반적인 프로그램 평가 방식이나 웹 페이지 평가 방식만을 적용해서는 사이버 채팅 시스템의 특징을 반영하는 평가를 하기에 충분하지 않다. 그러므로, 본 논문에서는 사용자들이 일반 대화에서 얻은 정신 모형을 바탕으로 사용성 평가 방식을 개발하여 채팅 시스템의실질적 사용성을 분석할 수 있도록 하였다. 이러한 평가 시스템을 적용하면 사용자의 예상과 기대를 기반으로 시스템의 사용성을 평가하여 보다 나은 시스템 개발을 위한 개선 방향을 효과적으로 제시할 수 있다.

Usability has become an important consideration for product development, and as a result, there is a growing need for systems and tools that can support usability test projects. However, few studies so far have developed such systems and tools. During a usability test project, many participants take up different roles, such as project managers, usability testers, and subjects. We implement a web-based usability test system with which a project manager can manage and control all participants and documents throughout the entire usability test process, from the design of a usability test project to the analysis of the test results. A usability test generates many documents, such as subject agreement forms and before/after questionnaires. Since many different subjects can participate in a usability test, consistency during testing with different participants and efficient document management are the keys to success for a usability test. Since all users that participate in usability test projects can access web-based usability test systems through a web browser, regardless of the place where they are, the reliability of the testing results can improve since the tests are conducted in the locations where the target products are meant to be used. In particular, our system is useful for disabled individuals who cannot move.

This study aims to evaluate KOLIS-NET system by usefulness testing of 'KOLIS-NET client integrated system' and by usability testing of 'KOLIS-NET web site'. For evaluating the usefulness of the system, we used searching, ease of use, customer support as criteria, and used brainstorming and in-depth interview as evaluation method. On the other hand, for usability testing of the web site, we used cognitive walkthrough. Evaluation results are categorized and represented as page redesign, term consistency, function improvement and new functionality.

사이버 채팅 시스템(Cyber Chatting System)은 서로 다른 곳에서 통신을 하는 사용자들이 가상의 공간에서 대화할 수 있도록 서비스를 제공한다. 현재 국내외로 많은 사이버 채팅 시스템이 운영 중에 있다. 사이버 채팅 시스템들도 다른 시스템들과 마찬가지로 사용자들이 원하는 서비스를 제공하고 있는가를 판단하고 개선 방향을 얻기 위해서는 사용성 평가를 받아야 한다. 사용성 평가는 사용성 요소들을 중심으로 이루어지기 때문에 본 논문에서는 사이버 채팅 시스템을 평가하기 위해 필요한 사용성 요소들을 분석하여 보았다. 분석결과 기존의 만족도와 수행도 이외에 정신 모형을 기반으로하는 체크리스트의 필요성이 발견되었다.

오늘날 인간-컴퓨터 시스템에서 상호작용 하는 컴퓨터 소프트웨어의 사용성에 많은 관심이 집중되고 있으며, 소프트웨어 인간공학 분야에서 이전 연구들은 소프트웨어 사용자 인터페이스들에 대한 사용성 평가의 중요성을 지적하고 있다. 소프트웨어 개발자들, 인터페이스 설계자들 또는 인간공학자들은 개발되는 시스템들이나 인터페이스 디자인들을 평가하는 일에 종종 직면하게 된다. 본 연구는 사용성 기준들과 척도들을 이용하여 사용자 인터페이스 디자인들의 평가를 위한 구조화 모형을 제시한다. 제시된 모형은 선별 단계와 평가 단계로 이루어진 두단계 모형이다. 첫 번째 단계는 정성적인 기준들을 가지고 전문가들의 판단에 근거한 접근방법으로 가능한 인터페이스 대안들을 추려내어 합리적인 부분집합으로 줄이기 위한 단계이다. 두 번째 단계는 정량적인 기준들을 가지고 실 사용자에 근거한 접근 방법으로 객관적인 척도들을 가지고 첫 단계에서 제시된 대안들의 부분집합을 평가하는 것이다. 제안된 방법이 정보분석을 위한 데이터 베이스 시스템의 인터페이스 설계에 적용되었다. 본 연구에서 제안된 모형은 실제 평가자들에게 사용성 기준들과 척도들에 근거해서 최선의 인터페이스를 선정할 수 있는 구조화된 접근방법을 제시한다.

Web-based Assessment System is needed for Process-Oriented Evaluation to integrate instructions into evaluation frequently in Informatics Education, and considered usability for supporting teachers to test more conveniently. First of all, we analyzed usability of traditional Web-based Assessment System, and proposed PBA(Paper-Based Assessment) model by extracting usability features of paper-pencil assessment in off-line. The evaluation system based on the PBA model controls the whole processes of tests; before-test, under-test, after-test. Especially, the system readily can change the target class, and control access to the test page during each step. Thus we can get high credibility about the test results. Moreover, students can login to the paper easily by using their grade, class, number and name. Finally, we designed and implemented the Web-based Assessment System for Informatics education on the basis of PBA model; PAS(PBA-based Assessment System).

본 논문에서는 사이버 채팅 시스템의 사용상 문제해결 방안을 위하여 사용성 평가를 통해 도출된 문제점을 비교 분석하여 사용성 향상을 위한 사용자 인터페이스 디자인의 가이드라인을 제안한다. 먼저 현존하는 문헌을 중심으로 웹 커뮤니케이션 도구로서의 사이버 채팅 시스템에 대하여 고찰하고 현재 사용되고 있는 채팅 현황을 조사하여 소개한다. 두 번째로는, 사용상의 문제점을 만족도 평가, 발전평가, 수행도 평가, 관찰평가를 실시하여 알아내고 사용성 평가결과 분석에 따른 사용상의 잠정적 문제 해결 방안을 제시하였다. 또한 사용성 평가에 따른 주요 발견 점으로는 채팅 기능의 구조화, 화면 구성요소의 크기 및 배치에 따른 화면의 가시성, 대화환경에 따른 이미지나 기능의 적절한 메타포 사용의 개선 및 개발이 필요한 것으로 대두되었다.

Learning Diagnosis & Prescription Service(LDPS) in Cyber Home Learning System is a educational service which provides customized learning contents based on student's academic level and individualized counseling and comments after diagnosing learner's study habits beyond the past e-Learning systems which offer the same contents to different students. For a national point of view, it is a crucial project in public education to achieve the goals of the next-generation e-Learning service by making a lot efforts both in time and money. However, those efforts has been made, not in terms of providing a better quality of service and a better user experience in a effective and enjoyable way, but in terms of developing the technology-driven system. Therefore, in this study, two types of usability evaluations has been conducted in order to enhance a user experience on the LDPS. One is the expert reviews by utilizing the usability evaluation tools (heuristics) which was focused on educational contexts developed by Suh Young-suhk(2007). The other is the user testing with students who have done think-aloud during the evaluation, remembering their retrospective experience with LDPS, and the interview with teachers & service operators were conducted. As the implications on the research, this is an effort to provide an user-friendly educational system for the students nationwide.

최근 많은 관심을 끌고 있는 지문인식시스템은 사용자의 지문영상을 입력 받아 사전에 등록된 템플릿과 비교하여 사용자 여부를 확인하는 사용자 인증 도구이다. 지문을 입력 받기 위한 센서와 매칭 알고리즘 등이 활발히 개발되고 있으며, 실제로 전자상거래나 출입통제시스템 등의 많은 분야에 적용되고 있다. 지문인식시스템에 대한 기존의 평가는 수집된 지문 DB 에 대해 인식 성능이 얼마인지, 쌍둥이들을 잘 구분하는지, 위조 지문을 파악할 수 있는지 등 주로 지문인식 자체의 성능에 초점이 맞추어져 있었다. 하지만 지문인식은 사용자나 환경과 관련된 많은 요인에 영향을 받기 때문에, 시스템을 효과적으로 적용하기 위해서는 이들에 대한 분석이 필요하다. 지문인식시스템에 대한 사용성 평가는 시스템이 대상환경에 효과적으로 적용되도록 하고, 사용성 분석을 통해 보다 편리하고 효율적인 사용자 인터페이스의 개발을 유도한다. 본 논문에서는 지문인식에 영향을 주는 요인을 사용자와 시스템 측면에서 분석하고, 사용성 평가를 통해 효과적인 지문인식시스템 인터페이스 구축을 위한 가이드라인을 제시한다.

To improve the dCollection system, it is suggested that the usability tests of the dCollection system are needed to find out whether submitters or IR managers are satisfied with the system or not. For the usability evaluations, we used sixty participants, thirty for its management module and thirty for its submit and retrieval modules and for its test constructed the five evaluation indicators including architectural/visual clarity and effectiveness. Based on the results of the usability tests, some improvements in terms of supportiveness, usefulness and visual clarity were suggested.
