  • Recently, IMO STW Committee has released a model course of Bridge Resource Management. The Leadership and Teamwork among non-technical skills related to human factor is included at STCW 2010 Manila Amendments. Until now, the BRM education in Korea has been independently operated by each related educational institution, i.e., Shipping Company, University due to absence of model course. In this research the focus is on the simulation module among items for the BRM program. During the simulation from the BRM training, the trainee's reaction and popular functions on simulator have been investigated and analyzed to develop a simulation module for effective BRM education.

High Power Density Open-frame Type DC-DC Converter Module with Constant Current Control (정전류 제어 기능이 부가된 고전력밀도의 개방형 DC-DC 컨버터 모듈)

  • We report the performance of an open-frame type low-voltage high-current DC-DC converter module developed using an active clamp forward converter circuit and single ended rectifier. The converter module is designed with the specifications of an 3.3V output voltage, 30A output current, 100W output power and 36-75V input voltage. The synchronous rectifier is used to reduce the conduction loss at high current level and constant current control using precision PCB resistance is adapted to enhance the over current protection function in the system configuration. A prototype converter module is successfully implemented within 8mm height and quarter brick size (58x37mm) and recorded an $95W/in^3$ power density, 90.6$\%$ efficiency and 0.07$\%$ voltage regulation for the entire Input voltage range, thereby demonstrating its application potentials to future telecommunication electronics.

  • The purpose of this paper is to suggest a pilot model of knowledge organizing system which reflects the knowledge structure of research papers, using a case analysis on the "Korean Research Memory" of the National Research Foundation of Korea. In this paper, knowledge structure of the research papers in humanities and social science is described and the function of the "Korean Research Memory" for scholarly sense-making is analysed. In order to suggest the pilot model of the knowledge organizing system, the study also analysed the relation between indexed keyword and knowledge structure of research papers in the Korean Research Memory. As a result, this paper suggests 24 axioms and 11 inference rules for an ontology based on semantic relation of the knowledge structure.

  • In this paper, we present two types of vision algorithm that mobile robot has CCD camera. for obstacle avoidance and path plan. One is simple algorithm that compare with grey level from input images. Also, The mobile robot depend on image processing and move command from PC host. we has been studied self controlled mobile robot system with CCD camera. This system consists of TMS320F240 digital signal processor, step motor, RF module and CCD camera. we used wireless RF module for movable command transmitting between robot and host PC. This robot go straight until 95 percent filled screen from input image. And the robot recognizes obstacle about 95 percent filled something, so it could avoid the obstacle and conclude new path plan. Another is complex algorithm that image preprocessing by edge detection, converting, thresholding and image processing by labeling, segmentation, pixel density calculation.

  • The demand of MOST interface module is increasing with car-multimedia network system. MOST devices consist of INIC part which controls MOST network and EHC part which is used by user. The efficient data communication between EHC and INIC demands implementation of a proper device driver. This paper presents a design method for I2C communication driver which is used for transmitting control messages between nodes of MOST network. For effetive I2C communication, we design driver with NetService API. For testing the experiment, we use the MOST audio interface deivce for porting driver sources and will develop various driver on MOST device based OS.

  • 정부는 1998년부터 4대강 물관리종합대책을 세워 하천의 수질보전을 위한 대책을 시행하고 있다. 그 중 대유역 중심의 수질개선대책은 전체적인 큰 목표를 제시하는 것이며, 이러한 대유역의 목표수질을 달성하기 위해서는 먼저 소유역의 수질개선이 이루어져야 한다. 현재 영산강유역에서는 도시하수종말처리장, 산업폐수처리장과 같은 점오염원 관리시설은 대폭 확충되었으나 하천과 호소의 수질은 크게 향상되지 못하고 있다. 이는 중 소유역에 대한 효율적인 수질개선대책이 없기 때문이며, 특히 중 소유역 내 비점오염원 물질이 대량으로 하천 및 호소에 유입되기 때문이다 따라서 효율적인 유역관리를 위해서는 소유역중심의 관리가 필요하며, 소유역 중심의 수질보전 대책을 수립하기 위해서는 대상 소유역에 대한 조사분석이 선행되어야 하는데, 여기에는 관거(우수관, 오수관) 시스템 조사와 하수의 차집조사가 관계되며, 또한 소유역내의 오염원(점오염원과 비점오염원) 및 잠재적인 오염원조사 등과 같은 광범위한 조사 작업이 필요하다. 한편 유역모형 중 HSPF모형은 모형의 적용에 필요한 방대한 자료와 노력을 최소화 되도록 개발되어 왔으며, HSPF는 광범위한 수문 수질과정을 장기 모의가 가능하도록 일련의 구조화된 모듈로 구성되어 있다. 복잡한 모형일수록 자료관리에 많은 노력이 요구되나 HSPF는 자료를 직접적으로 접근할 수 있는 Time Series Management System에 가깝도록 개발되었다. 또한, HSPF 모델은 유역내의 토지이용에 따른 특정 오염물질의 비점오염 부하를 계산하며, 강우에 따른 물의 흐름을 하천의 수질오염모의와 연결시키는데, 광범위한 유역조건에 적용이 가능하고, 각 소유역을 구분하여 비교가 가능하므로 소유역별 관리방안을 비교하는데 가장 적합한 모델이다. 따라서 본 연구는 유역모형(HSPF)을 이용하여 영산강 유역을 대표할 수 있는 중 소유역을 선정하고, 선정된 중 소유역에 대한 기초적인 자료를 조사 분석하여 종합적이고 구체적인 유역 관리계획을 수립해 봄으로써 중 소유역 수질관리에 지침서로서 역할을 하는데 목적이 있다.

A Study on Portable Smart Tester for Fault Diagnosis of Electric Vehicle Charger (전기 자동차 충전기의 고장진단을 위한 휴대형 스마트 시험기에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, the development and dissemination of electric vehicles is increasing as a solution for carbon and emission reduction. In Korea, the supply of electric vehicles and the expansion of chargers are increasing rapidly every year under the supervision of the Ministry of Environment. In this paper, we study the portable smart test technology which enables quick check of charge related to faults in both electric car and charger to solve the problem of failure which is inevitable in the diffusion of electric car charger. To verify the normal operation of the communication protocol between the electric car and the charger, a hardware module and software were constructed, and a portable tester based on the international standard considering the V2G technology was developed and evaluated.

  • The autonomous vehicle is based on an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) consisting of a sensor that collects information about the surrounding environment and a control module that determines the measured data. As interest in autonomous navigation technology grows recently, an easy development framework for ADAS beginners and learners is needed. However, existing development and verification methods are based on high performance vehicle simulator, which has drawbacks such as complexity of verification method and high cost. Also, most of the schemes do not provide the sensing data required by the ADAS directly from the simulator, which limits verification reliability. In this paper, we present an interactive ADAS development and verification framework using a 3D vehicle simulator that overcomes the problems of existing methods. ADAS with image recognition based artificial intelligence was implemented as a virtual sensor in a 3D car simulator, and autonomous driving verification was performed in real scenarios.

Development of Eye Tracker System for Early Childhood (유아용 시선 추적 장치의 개발 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and test an eye tracker focusing on early childhood participants, based on the characteristics of early childhood eye tracking studies. Eye tracking collects eye movement data of the subject, which provides scientific evidence of human cognition and thinking. The researcher built a Do It Yourself eye tracker camera module from general electronic components, and used Viewpoint analysis software from Arrington Research. The researcher compared the eye tracking data between the DIY eye tracker group and Tobii Pro eye tracker group, which provides a professional eye tracking system. Eye tracking data was collected from 52 five-year old children. The average proportion of valid trials between the two groups was compared with t test, and no significant difference was found. This result indicates that the DIY eye tracker can be used to collect valid eye tracking data from young children under certain research environment.

Error Calibration of Initial Value of Weight Measuring Sensors with Different Feature of Forklift (특성이 다른 지게차 적재 중량 센서의 초기 값 오차 보정)

  • The calibration method of the initial value error obtained in the weight measurement through anchor bolt type strain gauge sensor is proposed. The strain gauge sensor is developed for preventing the overturning of forklift, which is the most frequent type of safety-accident in industry. It was confirmed that the initial value error is caused from the physical and mechanical error of anchor bolt, and the environmental problem. Since the elimination of these causes falls outside the realm of this research, we find out the calibrated values based on all the causes, and we adjust the initial values of analog-to-digital convertor (ADC) module consisted of strain gauge sensor block using the calibrated values. We use the linear interpolation method for our calibration. We confirm that four sensor modules have the different under 5% between the real weight and the measured value in the experiment applied with the calibration of initial values. The low correlation between the real weights and ADC values is also improved through the proposed calibration.
