IGRINS를 이용한 정밀 시선속도 측정

  • M형 항성 주변의 외계행성 탐색 등을 위하여 근적외선 영역에서 정밀 신선속도 측정에 대한 관심이 근래 증가하고 있다. 이번 발표에서는 IGRINS를 이용하여 정밀 시선속도 측정을 하기 위한 방법과 이를 위한 필요한 일들을 소개하려 한다. 아울러 IGRINS로 정밀 시선속도를 측정하여 할 수 있는 연구 주제도 소개한다.

대마젤란은하 식쌍성의 측광 및 분광 관측

  • 대마젤란 은하에 속한 식쌍성의 시선속도 곡선을 완성하기 위하여 2009년 11월 칠레에 위치한 Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO)의 1.5m 망원경과 R-C Spectrograph를 사용하여 중 분산 분광관측을 수행하였다. 분광관측은 380nm - 540nm 영역에서 $H_8,\;H_{\varepsilon},\;H_{\delta},\;H_{\Gamma},\;H_{\beta}$ 등의 흡수선을 관측하였다. 중분산으로 관측된 식쌍성의 각 구성원별에서 나오는 흡수선들은 구별되지 않으므로 이를 구별하기 위하여 구성원들의 Flux 비와 함께 gauss curves fitting 방법으로 각 흡수선들을 2개의 성분으로 분해하여 시선속도를 측정하고, 시선속도곡선을 완성하였다. 완성된 이중 시선속도 곡선은 Wilson & Devinney 차등 보정법으로 분석하여, 궤도 장반경, 질량비, 계의 시선속도 등을 구하였다. 또한 각 식쌍성들의 광도곡선을 분석하여 측광학적인 해를 구하고, 최종적으로 분광 및 측광관측의 해를 혼합하여 대마젤란은하 식쌍성들의 절대량을 구하였다. 이후 이를 바탕으로 거리를 구하여 기존에 발표된 마젤란은하의 거리와 비교하였다.

  • 대개 인물사진 속에서 인물의 시선은 카메라 시선과 일치하거나 거부하는 대결을 보인다. 그러나 책이 등장할 때 책 읽는 인물의 시선은 강렬하게 책 속에 파묻혀 있다. 책을 읽을 때의 시각적 경험이 생각보다 훨씬 강렬하고 진지한 것임을 말해주는 것이다.

  • 한글의 가로쓰기와 세로쓰기 체계의 상대적 효율성을, 글을 읽을 때 관찰되는 시선 이동을 측정하여 비교하였다. 실험 1에서는 동일한 글을 가로와 세로 방향으로 제시하고, 글을 읽는 동안 시선 운동(머리 운동과 안구 운동의 합)을 공막탐지코일법(scleral search coil method)으로 측정하였다. 가로글 읽기의 경우, 시선도약(saccade)의 크기가 더 컸으며, 동일한 크기의 도약운동을 비교할 때, 세로글 읽기에 비해 상대적으로 도약운동의 속도가 높았다. 평균 고정기간(fixation duration)은 글의 읽기 방향에 따른 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 시선 도약크기와 도약운동 속도에서의 차이는 가로글을 읽는 속도를 높여 글을 읽는 시선 이동의 효율성이 가로글에서 상대적으로 높았다. 실험 2에서는 팔의 읽기 방향에 따른 시선 이동 변수에서의 차이가 글자극의 독특한 자극 특성에 기인한 것인지 혹은 시각 및 안구 운동 체계에서의 차이를 반영하는 것인지를 결정하고자 하였는데, 의미정보가 없는 점자극을 수평과 수직방향으로 제시하고, 방향에 따른 시선 이동의 차이가 글자극을 사용한 경우와 동일하게 나타나는지를 보았다. 점자극에서도 수평 방향의 시선도 약 운동이 보다 크고 정확한 경향성이 있었다. 이 결과는 사람의 시각 운동 체계가 수평 방향의 시선 이동에 대해 선호성을 보이고 있으며, 이러한 시각 및 안구 운동 체계에서의 차이가 글을 읽는 행동에도 반영되고 있음을 보여준다.

A Study on Eye-Tracking by Speed & Direction Changes of Graphic Images (그래픽 이미지의 움직임 속도와 방향 변화에 따른 시선 이동 추적 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to determine the differences in eye-tracking, which is one of the emotional reactions of the autonomic nervous system, against various experimental stimuli that vary in terms of the movement attributes of graphic image. This experiment conducted an analysis of variance of the movement factors(n) in each movement attribute(speed, horizontality movement, verticality movement, diagonal movement). Dependent variables were the fixation starting time, the fixation dwell time, the whole fixation time from stimulus appearance, and the eye-tracking length. The result of eye-tracking against movement speed showed nonsignificant differences for each movement attribute. In the horizontality movement, the → movement was higher than the ← movement. In the verticality movement, the ↑ movement was higher than the ↓ movement. In the diagonal movement, there was not significant differences for each movement attributes.

  • Calculated velocity distribution was used to visual information by image that is obtained from camera. The visual velocity of object that is obtained from this visual information were fused and experimented. That is, need motion of eye that motion of head that happen by external disturbance or move of camera itself to get stable image in environment that receive external disturbance can be compensated. In this treatise, algorithm that control gaze which vision and sense of equilibrium are fused in environment with external disturbance proposed, and thing that compare with that it controls gaze only that control gaze which vision and sense of equilibrium are fused in the experiment result and position deflection is few confirmed. This was because action of camera prop is effect that record conclusion error of the speed because the appearance speed is decreased being compensated by angular velocity sensor.

Development of Unfolding Radial Velocity Algorithm for Dual PRF Mode of Yong-In Testbed(YIT) Radar (용인테스트베드레이다를 이용한 Dual PRF 모드의 시선속도 접힘 풀기 알고리즘 개발)

  • Weather radar is observation equipment that transmits electromagnetic waves and receives backscattered signals from the targets. The weather radar systems of the Korea Meteorological Administration have a doppler mode that can extract the target's radial velocity. However, the radial velocity over the maximum unambiguous velocity(${\nu}_m$) for which is in a trade-off relationship with the maximum unambiguous range is folded. Therefore, a dual PRF mode of which transmits and receives signals using two different PRFs(high and low) must be used to extend the vm while maintaining the maximum unambiguous range. Using a dual PRF mode, vm can be extended to the amount of lowest common denominator of two observed vm from high and low PRF. For this extension, we have developed a velocity unfolding algorithm of which uses several criteria for classification considering observed velocity differences between high and low PRF and their error boundary. Then, correction factors are calculated for each class and are applied to unfold radial velocity. The developed algorithm was applied to the Yong-In Testbed(YIT) radar and the generated better performance of radial velocity extraction than those of the previous system.

A STUDY OF THE RADIAL VELOCITY OF BX ANDROMEDAE (BX ANDROMEDAE의 시선속도 연구)

  • High resolution spectroscopic observations of BX And using the BOBS (Bohyunsan Optical Echelle Spectrograph) of Bohyunsan Optical Astronomical Observatory (BOAO) were performod during 26-27, Feb. 2003. From the observations, we obtained 38 line spectra of BX And which cover all phases except the phase interval between $0.^p1$ and $0.^p3$. Both methods of the CCF (Cross-Correlation Function) and BF (Broadening Function) were used to get the radial velocities of primary and secondary components. Both velocities of the primary and secondary stars were calculated with the BF method while only primary velocities were determined with the CCF. Using new radial velocity curves, the maximum radial velocities of the primary and secondary stars were obtained as $K_1=90.1km/s\;and\;K_2=196.6km/s$, respectively. New absolute dimension of BX And was deduced with the combination of our spectroscopic solution with the photometric one of Bell et al. (1990).

Suggestion of Delineators Considering Traffic Safety at Curve Sections (교통안전을 고려한 곡선부 시선유도시설물 제시에 관한 연구)

  • On a curve radius, there is speed deviation because a driver who is on the curve radius can have visual distortion. The curve radius can be more dangerous than a straight radius by many reasons. Especially, visibility paralysis of delineator that is because of night and bad weather. Can pervert the information about curve sections, it threatens safety. More over accident risk is increased by influence to travel speed. Therefore, it needs to build and control delineators for driver's visibility. Therefore, this study focus on finding the two types of delineator(the retro-reflection and inside-lighting delineator) by insight-surveying and the operating speed are compared by survey and operating speed. Finally, inside-lighting delineator will be selected in terms of safety at the curve sections. The inside-lighting delineator was more effective than the retro-reflection delineator on visibility, the necessity of reduction of speed and will reduce the hazard at curve sections. Also, the study analyzes safety is guaranteed by the slight reduction of speed when the driver enters a curve radius with inside-lighting delineator. As a result, the inside-lighting delineator can give the information about horizontal and vertical profile effectively, so it can reduce the accident risk. And it can use to improve traffic safety on curve radius.

AN ANALYSIS OF THE LIGHT AND RADIAL VELOCITY CURVES OF DO CAS (식쌍성 DO Cas의 광도곡선과 시선속도곡선의 분석)

  • DO Cas is a short period (P=0.68day) eclipsing binary star and is classified as a near-contact binary by Shaw(1990). There is no published radial velocity curve for this short period binary after Mannino(1958). Hill(1991) suspected that Mannino's radial velocity curve had some serious mistake. So, we scanned the original plates used by Mannino with PDS and the spectra were employed to IRAF packages to estimate the radial velocities. The radial velocity curve and the BVR light curves made by us in 1998 were analyzed simultaneously with Wilson-Devinney code. We found that DO Cas is a contact or near-contact binary which the primary component fills its Roche lobe and we also estimated the absolute dimensions of each components of this system.
