  • This study was designed to investigate the effect of the late fall fertilization applied with methyl urea(MU), compound chemical fertilizer(CF), humate(HM), and organic compost fertilizer(NS) on spring greenup of creeping bentgrass at following year. The plots were treated with various snow cover periods before transforming to ski slopes from golf holes during 2007 fall to 2008 spring. The highest visual quality and greenup rate were shown on MU or HM applications at 10 days before snow cover treatment. The CF treatment which had a highest phosphorus rate was most effective with a 13 cm of root length at the reconversion date to golf hole from ski slope of the following spring. However, the application of CF followed by immediate snow cover showed the worst results on visual quality and green color caused by a leaf burning damage from the residual effect of CF. At least 10 days were required to avoid phytotoxicant from undissolved granular of CF before snow cover practise. The application of NS showed the highest result on leaf dry weight at no snow cover plot in next spring, but not on green color and visual quality. Therefore, the proper interval period of snow cover after late fall fertilization should be an important management skill on the spring greenup of creeping bentgrass on following year transforming from ski slope to golf hole.

  • The influence of fertilizer on the growth characteristics in Korean lawn grass was studied from June through October in a experiment. The results were as follows: 1. Maximum dry matter weight of Korean lawn grass was achieved in early in early August when it was $64.3g/m^2$ without fertilizer and $157.9g/m^2$ with fertilizer. On the other hand, the dry matter weight of whole plant including Korean lawn grass reached the maximum in late September, which was late, to some extent, compared with that if pure Korean lawn grass, presumably associated with seed maturing period of $C_4$ type plants. 2. Notable positive effect on leaf blade and non-leaf part weight in Korean lawn grass was also detected. However, the rate of dry matter occupied by non-leaf part was markedly increased by fertilizer application. 3. The dry matter portion occupied by Korean lawn grass the in total dry matter weight of whole plant was significantly decreased as time went by, particularly in case of fertilizer application. 4. Fertilizer, which might imply an increased potential of tiller numbers according to fertilizer. 5. In general, the seasonal change pattern of the rhizome of Korean lawn grass coincided with that of the aboveground organs: Its maximum dry matter weight achieved from late August to early September was $194.2g/m^2$ with nil fertilizer, and, with fertilizer, $259.7g/m^2$, of which figures were equivalent to be increased to 33.7%, compared to that with nil fertilizer. Applying fertilizer increased the weight of root: The highest values were $36.7g/m^2$ with nil fertilizer and $80.9g/m^2$ with fertilizer.

  • The objective of this study was comparison of seed yields according to different seeding rates, seeding time and application of chemical fertilizations in Yanji region of China. The experiment was conducted on commercial farmland at Yanji region in 2013. All the experimental fields were designed following randomized block design with 3 replicates. The plant spacing was applied as $65{\times}1cm$ distance. To check the effect of seeding rate, two different seeding rate, 0.2 kg/0.1ha and 0.5 kg/0.1ha were applied. The higher seed yield was observed in low seeding rate (0.2 kg/0.1ha). The application of fertilizer (mixture of N and P) showed different results following different experimental fields. However, there were little positive effects following fertilizer application into commercial farmland. When we compare seed yields between two different seeding dates, $4^{th}$ May and $29^{th}$ May, the earlier seeding date ($4^{th}$ May) showed higher seed yields. In considering these results, low seeding rate and early seeding time is important for getting high camelina seed yields.

  • The aim of this study was to solve the problem of yield loss causing the lag of fertilizer efficiency after tiller stage, being originated by applying mixed expeller cake fertilizer on three day before rice transplanting in organic rice farmers. The mineralization degree of $NH_4-N$ of the mixed expeller cake fertilizer was increased until 7 weeks at flooding condition, and so did $NO_3-N$ until 5 weeks at non-flooding condition. The mineralization rate of nitrogen in paddy soil on 20 days before rice transplanting was the highest by 0.85% on 20 days before the transplanting treatment. The properties of yields during the harvest period have no difference with application time of the mixed expeller cake fertilizer, except soil organic matter. The plan length, culm length and panicle length were the longest on 20 days before rice transplanting. Also, the number of tiller, ripening rat and 1,000 grain weight were the highest on 20 days before rice transplanting, and thereby the yield of white rice were increasing by 9% on 20 days before rice transplanting compared with that of 3 days before rice transplanting. The whiteness values of the rice and amylose content made no difference, but the value of protein and palatability were the same between 20 days and 30 days treatment. In the conclusion, the relationship between rice yield, its quality and application time of the mixed expeller cake fertilizer has showed that the suitable time of applying it reveals 21.3 days before rice transplanting.

  • This studies were carried out to investigate the effects of nitrogen fertilizer rates and methods of its application on maturity of leaves, total nitrogen and total alkaloids concentration in burley tobacco leaves. Nitrogen rate ranged from 17.5 to 40.5kg/10a and applied through basic fertilization and sidedressing. The filling capacity of cured leaves was decreased with increasing levels of nitrogen fertilizer. As the rate of nitrogen fertilization was increased or sidedressing, the maturity of leaves was delayed and total alkaloids and total nitrogen concentration were increased. Total alkaloids concentration in leaves was gradually increased, especially more in upper leaves from 60 to no days after tratnsplanting, but total nitrogen concentration was decreased.

  • The experiment was aimed to determine a change of chemical component in irrigatted water based on different tillage methods and nitrogen rates under mulching of barley straw in direct seeded rice. There was no difference in water pH of no-tillaged plot but high in tillaged plot until 10 days after treatment. The electric conductivity(EC) of the water was higher in no-tillaged plot than in tillaged plot. However, the dissolved oxygen content was vice versa. The content of NH$_4$-N was high in higher application rate of N fertilizer without the tillage. Mean while, NO$_3$-N content was highly affected by no-till aged plot particularly in between application time and fertilizer rate but not in tillaged plot. There was higher in P043- content with the no-tillaged plot compared to the tillaged plot. It was big difference with higher application rate of the fertilizer. Soil cations were high in much application of fertilizer without the tillage.

  • The study was initiated at three rice paddy fields of each large-scale area environment-friendly agricultural district, Suncheon and Jangheung in Jeollanam-do, and Okcheon in Chungcheongbuk-do in 2016 to observe growth and nutrients in soil and rice in a season. Jangheung farm had two observed plots; conventional plots and conventional plots additionally fertilizing of 20% T-N with oil-cake. Soil pH, EC, and K concentration on June in Jangheung farm were significantly higher than those values observed in Suncheon and Okcheon farms. Annual rice T-N contents in the Jangheung farm were more than 80 g but decreased in a season. T-N concentration in rice was high in Jangheung farm but the concentrations of P and K were not significantly different among the three farms at harvest. Plant height was as low as 101 cm in Sunchon farm but high in the dry weight (72 g). Leaf SPAD was higher in Jangheung farm than those of other farms. Okcheon farm, with early cultivar 'Milky queen', produced high head rice of 93%, and high unhulled rice and the brown rice per ha. Therefore, the annual production income was as high as 26.7 million won per ha. However, nutrient (T-N + P + K) balance in Okcheon farm with high amount of fertilizer application were as high as 900 kg per ha. On the other hand, nutrient balance in Jangheung farm resulted in less than 300 kg.

  • This study was conducted to establish fundamental of cultivation system in the southern warm region of Korea by investigation of variation of yield component and yield under the different nitrogen fertilizing levels. And that levels in this experiment were 10, 15, 20 and 25 Kg/10a. Optimum fertilizing level of nitrogen was 20 kg/10a in Seokwang variety and 25 kg/ 10a in Dongjin variety. On the optimum fertilizing level (Seokwang; 20 kg/10a, Dongjin; 15 kg/10a), the correlation coefficient between No. of panicles per unit area and the rate of ripened grains were showed negative correlation (Seokwang; r =-0.6023$\^$*/, Dongjin; r=-0.858l$\^$**/). In the primary, secondary branches and spikelets, the degeneration ratio was increased significantly under the level of N=25 kg/10a in Seokwang, N$\geq$20 kg/10a in Dongjin. In Dongjin, the rate of ripened grains was decreased with increase in nitrogen fertilizing levels and that caused to decrease the yield.
