Non-fluid representation technique using fluid simulation (유체 시뮬레이션 기술을 이용한 비유체 표현기법)

  • In this paper, we have implemented soil simulation using fluid simulation technology. A widely used NVIDIA FleX was used to represent the soil generated by excavation work. FleX is a particle-based physics simulation library that combines SPH (Smoothed-particle hydrodynamics) and Position Based Dynamics techniques. However, since the soil has not only fluid properties but also non-fluid properties, it is difficult to simulate with the functions provided by conventional FleX. In this study, we added a technique to simulate non-fluid behavior using existing Flex. This can lead to effective results improvement at low cost.

Study on Teachers' Understanding on Generating Random Number in Monte Carlo Simulation (몬테카를로 시뮬레이션의 난수 생성에 관한 교사들의 이해에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze teachers' understanding on generating random number in Monte Carlo simulation and to provide educational implications in school practice. The results showed that the 70% of the teachers selected wrong ideas from three types for random-number as strategies for problem solving a probability problem and also they make some errors to justify their opinion. The first kind of the errors was that the probability of a point or boundary was equal to the value of the probability density function in the continuous probability distribution. The second kind of the errors was that the teachers failed to recognize that the sample space has been changed by conditional probability. The third kind of the errors was that when two random variables X, Y are independence of each other, then only, joint probability distribution is satisfied $P(X=x,\;Y=y)=p(X=x){\times}P(Y=y{\mid}X=x)$.

  • The microstructure of intermixed $Zn_{1-x}Fe_xSe$ layers in the (ZnSe/FeSe) superstrates grown on (00l) GaAs substrates has been investigated by high -resolution transmission electron microscopy and computer simulations of lattice images. Computer image simulations have been performed by the multislice method under various sample thicknesses and defocusing conditions. The simulated lattice images were compared with the experimental lattice images. Also, CuAu-I type ordering was often observed in the intermixed $Zn_{1-x}Fe_xSe$ alloys. This CuAu-I type ordered structure consists of alternating ZnSe and FeSe monolayers along the <100> and <110> directions.

Monte Carlo Studies on an Amorphous Silicon (a-Si:H) Digital X-Ray Imaging Device (무정형 실리콘(a-Si : H) 디지털 X-선 영상기기의 개발을 위한 Monte Carlo 컴퓨터 모의실험연구)

  • Results of Monte Carlo simulations on amorphous silicon based x-ray imaging arrays are described. In order to investigate the characteristics of amorphous silicon x-ray imaging devices and to provide the optimum design parameter, Monte Carlo simulations were performed. Monte Carlo simulation codes for our purpose were developed and various combinations of x-ray peak voltages, aluminum filter thicknesses, CsI(TI) thicknesses, and amorphous silicon photodiode pixel sizes were tested in connection with detection efficiency and spatial resolution of the amorphous silicon based x-ray imager. With usual Csl(TI) thickness of 300${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$-500${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, detection efficiency was in the range of 70%-95% and energy absorption efficiency was in the range of 40%-70% for 60kVp-120kVp x-ray. From the simulations it was found that amorphous silicon pixel size and Csl(TI) thickness were the most important parameters which determine the resolution of the imager. By use of our simulation results we could provide proper combinations of Csl(TI) thicknesses and pixels sizes for optimum sensitivity and resolution.

Design of an X-band patch array antenna for an energy saving system (절전센서용 X-밴드 대역 패치 어레이 안테나 설계)

  • 본 논문에서는 X-band 절전센서용 마이크로스트립 구형패치 배열 안테나의 설계 방법을 제안 하고자 한다. 제안된 배열 안테나는 송 수신 안테나가 각각 1x2배열로 구성 되었다. 안테나는 CST MWS를 사용하여 시뮬레이션 하였고 FR-4 기판(h=1.0mm, ${\varepsilon}_r$=4.4)을 사용하여 제작하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과는 대역폭이 4%(VSWR${\leq}$2), 이득은 6.3dBi, 빔폭은 약 $60^{\circ}$(El)/$15^{\circ}$(Az)로 예측되었다. 안테나는 시뮬레이션 결과를 바탕으로 제작 되었고 절전센서용 RF 송수신기 회로 뒷면에 설치되어 무반사실에서 방사 특성을 측정하였다. 측정된 결과는 대역폭이 7%(VSWR${\leq}$2), 이득은 4.8dBi, 빔폭은 약 $55^{\circ}$(El)/$15^{\circ}$(Az)로 시뮬레이션 결과와 매우 유사한 결과를 얻었다.

  • 이 논문은 빠른 ASIP(application specific instruction processor) 시뮬레이션을 위한 재적응성을 가진 컴파일드 시뮬레이션 기법에 대해 이야기 한다. 다양한 응용분야에서의 설계 요구사항을 충족시키는 ASIP의 빠른 개발을 위해서, 건전한 설계 방법론 및 고성능의 시뮬레이터가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 HiX$R^2$라는 ADL(architecture description language)을 이용하여 인스트럭션 수준에서 컴파일드 시뮬레이터를 자동 생성하였다. 컴파일드 시뮬레이션은 시뮬레이션 수행 시 반복되는 인스트럭션 페칭 및 디코딩 부분을 시뮬레이션 런-타임 이전에 미리 수행함으로서 일반적으로 사용되는 인터프리티브 시뮬레이션에 비하여 큰 성능향상을 얻을 수 있다. HiX$R^2$에 기반 한 컴파일드 시뮬레이션은 ARM9 프로세서와 CalmRISC32 프로세서 예제들로 수행하였고, 결과로서 인터프리티브 방식에 비해 150배 이상의 성능향상이 있었다.

Prediction-Based Parallel Gate-Level Timing Simulation Using Spatially Partial Simulation Strategy (공간적 부분시뮬레이션 전략이 적용된 예측기반 병렬 게이트수준 타이밍 시뮬레이션)

  • In this paper, an efficient prediction-based parallel simulation method using spatially partial simulation strategy is proposed for improving both the performance of the event-driven gate-level timing simulation and the debugging efficiency. The proposed method quickly generates the prediction data on-the-fly, but still accurately for the input values and output values of parallel event-driven local simulations by applying the strategy to the simulation at the higher abstraction level. For those six designs which had used for the performance evaluation of the proposed strategy, our method had shown about 3.7x improvement over the most general sequential event-driven gate-level timing simulation, 9.7x improvement over the commercial multi-core based parallel event-driven gate-level timing simulation, and 2.7x improvement over the best of previous prediction-based parallel simulation results, on average.

Diagnostic X-ray Spectra Detection by Monte Carlo Simulation (진단용 X-선 스펙트럼의 몬테칼로 전산모사 측정)

  • Most diagnostic devices in the medical field use X-ray sources, which emit energy spectra. In radiological diagnosis, the quantitative and qualitative analyses of X-rays are essential for maintaining the image quality and minimizing the radiation dose to patients. This work aims to obtain the X-ray energy spectra used in diagnostic imaging by Monte Carlo simulation. Various X-ray spectra are simulated using a Monte Carlo simulation tool. These spectra are then compared to the reference data obtained with a tungsten anode spectral model using the interpolating polynomial (TASMIP) code. The X-ray tube voltages used are 50, 60, 80, 100, and 110 kV, respectively. CdTe and a-Se detector are used as the detectors for obtaining the X-ray spectra. Simulation results demonstrate that the various X-ray spectra are well matched with the reference data. Based on the simulation results, an appropriate X-ray spectrum, in accordance with the tube voltage, can be selected when generating an image for diagnostic imaging. The dose to be delivered to the patient can be predicted prior to examination in the diagnostic field.

  • V2X 차량 안전 시스템은 ITS 환경에서 주행하는 모든 차량들이 V2V 혹은 V2I 기반의 협력통신을 통해 안전 서비스를 제공하는 기술이다. 이는 실제 도로환경에서의 실험, 즉 Field Operational Tests(FOTs)를 통한 검증과 평가 수행이 요구된다. 그러나, 일반적으로 실 도로환경에서 시스템 및 서비스에 대한 검증과 평가는 많은 시간과 비용을 필요로 한다. 따라서 실제 도로 주행 테스트 전에 V2X 안전 서비스의 기본적인 성능을 검증할 V2X 시뮬레이션 방안이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 국외의 V2X 시뮬레이터 기술 개발 동향과 함께 차량 간 통신 시뮬레이션 분야에서 연구되고 있는 주요 이슈들을 알아보고 이를 극복하기 위한 연구 방호별 제시한다.
